Impressive inventory. Interesting that so many folks bought new Ferrari 430's or even 458 Italia's and then turn around to sell them after just a year or two.

Horrible gutless French V6 destroys what otherwise might have been a fun car.

I'd stay away from AWD, but other than that, happy hunting!

I wouldn't care personally. The 911 Turbo I drove was AWD and he's never had any issues with it.

I've heard the AWD systems on the 911s are pretty solid. I know a guy who has a 964 carrera 4 and it turns out they are solid.

Yeah, they're are pretty solid, but they crowd everything under there and add weight. :gotme

Agreed. I never did understand the appeal of AWD. Add complexity, weight, and parasitic drag for very very little benefit in even the best circumstances. Any car that's good with AWD would be better with RWD. Yes, even whichever GTR you're thinking of.

I know it snows in Indy, but AWD is an unnecessary burden.

If you want a 911, you want AWD.

Lets be honest, putting the motor in the back makes the car dangerous at the limit. The Germans knew it. But being German, instead of saying, "this is a bad idea, we should do something different", they said, "Nein! Vee vill add zee computerz and driving of all of the wheelz! Ziss vill fix zee problemz!" And in true German fashion, IT WORKED!

If you want a 911, and you actually want to drive it and enjoy it, get an AWD 911. If you just want something to putter around in, then the RWD is fine.

I like the idea of a 350z drop top over the 911 drop top.

I am of the exact opposite opinion. A 911 is my No. 1 Bucket List car. I will own one sooner rather then later, and it will absolutely not be AWD.

The AWD models are for sissys who aren't capable of dealing with the spooky handling at the limit. The fact that the car can and will bight you if you are too ham fisted is part of the allure. Ideally I would love a 71/72 short bumper 911 hardtop. It would be made even better with a new gen liquid cooled engine. That being very difficult and expensive to acquire, I will likely grab a mid 90s hardtop turbo.

BRZ/FRS is $25k-$27k new. Put a turbo kit in it and make 400hp for a little over $32k and out perform every car mentioned in this thread so far.. just saying..

Oh.. and my clubs fit in the car just fine.

Right in your price range. 400 ft-lb and fairly light for their size.

I was bitten at an early age. A close friend was the second owner of this car in the early 2000's. I barely had a license, and 1 ride in it lit a fire of obsession, while at the same time scaring the crap out of me. It was down right terrifying at high speeds on gravel, but in the tight stuff it was a blast

I just wish he would have kept it instead of selling it build a subaru.

I think I could get you into a brand new one for less than that. Did you ask them about VPP pricing?
