The package hasn't left my shop yet. I thought I had actuators in stock but I was mistaken. I get FedEx around 4:30, so I was waiting to see if they would arrive today...... they didn't. I just tracked my Viper order and they won't be here until the 20th. So I apologize for the delay. I always like to satisfy my customers, so I will give you three choices:

1)If you are not in a hurry I can just ship all of it out on the 20th.2)I can ship everything but the actuators out now and then ship the actuatorsr out on the 20th.3)I can ship everything out on the 20th and offer you one of the other sensors at no charge.... tilt, proximity, glass break etc.

Thanks,

Toby

You bet! I will get it all shipped out once I receive the actuators and throw in the proximity sensor.

Thanks for understanding,

It's a lot easier to get around in the menus etc. So if you want to adjust your shock sensor for example, it's a lot easier to do it on the color 5902 remote over the 5901 remote. Essentially the 5902 and 5901 systems are the same. The 5902 will have some extra options that most will not use.

Hey Broadfield,I am looking for an alarm for my 93 300zx. I want it to include keyless entry and remote start. However, I remember the older DEI alarms had a "turbo timer" built into them. Is there anything like that now? If so what would be needed?

I was looking into the 5902. Would this alarm system cover all or most of the features I am looking for?

Thanks

The 5601, 5701, 5901 and 5902 will all have the features you are looking for. The 5901 is probably my most popular unit when it comes to alarm/remote start units. The 5902 is pretty much the same thing as the 5901, but has a color remote with a jog wheel that makes going through menus really easy. However, it's a lot more money and isn't worth it to most people.

Hey Broadfield,

Been wanting to install a remote stater on my 2006 Murano SE for sometime now, so finally pulling the trigger this winter. Total newbie to this stuff, and this is also my first time ever joining and posting on any kind of forum!

Something like your Viper Responder One is pretty much what I'm looking for, just a simple two-way remote that is separate from the intelli-key I already have. I haven't found much info on Murano remote start intalls, but the bits that I have stumbled across all say this is one of the more difficult ones to deal with... So, wondering if this is an install that you've ever had experience with, or have a grasp on its level of difficulty?I'm an engineer and I've done some wiring projects over the years, but I've never tackled a remote start and it seems like this may be an upper level job.....???

Anyway, does the kit you sell come with all the needed components, or do I need to purchase an 'interface' (I think that's what it's called?) as well? Or maybe there are even more things needed? What is the complete cost for everything out the door so that I could install myself?

The testimonials to your tech support are also reassuring, as I'd likely be the next one added to the list once I open the box.

Any feedback is much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hey man, I am glad you did a little research. So you have the push button start, right? If so, those are fairly difficult to do. The way I install them is more difficult, but it will then operate just like a standard keyed ignition vehicle does when doing remote start take over. Some shops install them so that after remote starting it, you come out to your vehicle, unlock it with the remote, open the door.... but then the remote shuts off when you open the door. I think this is a cheap shortcut. I install it so it will not shut down at all until you hit the brake. So as long as you get in and push the start button twice to power up the ignition circuit, it will stay running when you hit the brake and you drive away like normal. The interface you need to do this entire vehicle runs $59. It will do door locks, arm/disarm, immobilizer override and push-to-start interface. Obviously you won't be utilizing the door lock part of it with the Responder One. I will include all of the wiring info etc. So you would be looking at $208 shipped for everything needed.

You may want to give me a call at the # in my sig to discuss it more...... I would recommend it!

Thanks,

Toby

Does her Maxima have just a standard keyed ignition, or is it some sort of iKey/push button start?

Just letting you know I tried calling you at 7:30 tonight, but it gave me an automated message that the "cell customer is not available". I'll try a couple more times tonight.

She would need the DLPK interface. It runs $49. I usually charge around $125 to put a remote start on. I am usually on the cheap side though.

I don't like my current alarm (not purchased from you) because it wont let me lock the doors while the turbo timer is counting down, even if I try to do it manually. A relay blew and I can do it now, but I can't ever unlock/lock the doors with remote now. It's retarded...

So which one of those alarms has remote start and keyless entry, but will allow me lock the doors while the turbo timer is counting down. Muchas Gracias Toby!

BTW, that alpine I got from you is still rocking!

It's not the alarm, it's the install. It needs to be wired differently to work with a turbo timer while the car is running. But I'll sell you a new alarm if you really want one!

Here is the schematic that I posted on page three of this thread:

I assume it's a push button start Altima!?! Yes, there is a better way to do it. I install them so they are just like a standard ignition vehicle. After being remote started: you would get in, push the start button to turn on accessory then push it once more to turn on ignition. Then simply step on the brake and drive away. You would need a DLPK interface and then wire it a specific way. I have done Altima's, Maxima's, Murano's and some Infinity's this way. The DLPK will also take care of lock, unlock, trunk release, arm and disarm.
I have the same problem with my 2008 Nissan Rogue with IntelliKey and it is very annoying. The barrel stays locked and I have to step on the brake pedal to disengage the remote starter and restart the car normally. Can I easily swap it for your DLPK interface? or it requires more job than that?

I don't think mine was installed correctly by my local shop.If I unlock the doors with the remote starter's remote, everything is fine. But when I unlock the doors normally (keyless with my IntelliKey), the LED light inside my cars still blinks and the screen on my starter's remote still indicates that my doors are locked....Is this behavior normal?

1st question: Did you have to give up an IKey for the install?

^^^^^This is exactly how it should work.

As far as the LED, it will flash if it is locked with the Viper. So if you don't unlock it with the Viper, then it will still flash. So in other words if you lock it with the Viper, but then unlock it with the Ikey, it will still flash. The Viper has no way of knowing if you are unlocking it in some other manner than the Viper.

Well, unless you give up one of your valet keys, you will not be able to turn the barrel upon entering the vehicle after remote starting. The valet key is the part that comes out of the end of the fob. Now I have never installed one this way, as none of my customers have been willing to give up a valet key. So I wire the system so that when you open the door it shuts the remote start down. That way you can simply start it back up once you get in. If it's wired to only shutdown with the brake, then you have to pause for a couple seconds before you can actually turn the barrel after you step on the brake.

Hi Broadfield,I have a 2006 BMW 325XI manual trans with push start. I am looking to get a remote start without alarm and was looking towards the Viper Responder One. What all would I need for that? Thanks in advance.

Hey Broadfield. I want to get your opinion.

So I recently got a 2010 Nissan Altima 3.5 SR with the Push Start.

I wanted to get a car starter installed and the dealership was charging $350 for it to get get installed. If I were to purchase the Viper Responder One from you. How hard would it be to install and how long will it roughly take.

Also what do you think about the Factory Alarm on it? I was thinking about Picking up either the 5901 or 5902 instead, that way I will have better security as well as the remote start. The downside is, I am concerned about locking the unlocking function with the buttons on the door handle.

Also, off topic, do you know how to program the Nissan Intelligent Smart Keys? I am looking to pick up an additional spare. THe dealership said it would be $300 for one.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,Lee
