The 5601, 5701, 5901 and 5902 will all have the features you are looking for. The 5901 is probably my most popular unit when it comes to alarm/remote start units. The 5902 is pretty much the same thing as the 5901, but has a color remote with a jog wheel that makes going through menus really easy. However, it's a lot more money and isn't worth it to most people.Armando wrote:Hey Broadfield,I am looking for an alarm for my 93 300zx. I want it to include keyless entry and remote start. However, I remember the older DEI alarms had a "turbo timer" built into them. Is there anything like that now? If so what would be needed?
I was looking into the 5902. Would this alarm system cover all or most of the features I am looking for?
Thanks
I hit ya back last night.southernsteel wrote:e-mailing...
Hey man, I am glad you did a little research. So you have the push button start, right? If so, those are fairly difficult to do. The way I install them is more difficult, but it will then operate just like a standard keyed ignition vehicle does when doing remote start take over. Some shops install them so that after remote starting it, you come out to your vehicle, unlock it with the remote, open the door.... but then the remote shuts off when you open the door. I think this is a cheap shortcut. I install it so it will not shut down at all until you hit the brake. So as long as you get in and push the start button twice to power up the ignition circuit, it will stay running when you hit the brake and you drive away like normal. The interface you need to do this entire vehicle runs $59. It will do door locks, arm/disarm, immobilizer override and push-to-start interface. Obviously you won't be utilizing the door lock part of it with the Responder One. I will include all of the wiring info etc. So you would be looking at $208 shipped for everything needed.bkm00717 wrote:Hey Broadfield,
Been wanting to install a remote stater on my 2006 Murano SE for sometime now, so finally pulling the trigger this winter. Total newbie to this stuff, and this is also my first time ever joining and posting on any kind of forum!
Something like your Viper Responder One is pretty much what I'm looking for, just a simple two-way remote that is separate from the intelli-key I already have. I haven't found much info on Murano remote start intalls, but the bits that I have stumbled across all say this is one of the more difficult ones to deal with... So, wondering if this is an install that you've ever had experience with, or have a grasp on its level of difficulty?I'm an engineer and I've done some wiring projects over the years, but I've never tackled a remote start and it seems like this may be an upper level job.....???
Anyway, does the kit you sell come with all the needed components, or do I need to purchase an 'interface' (I think that's what it's called?) as well? Or maybe there are even more things needed? What is the complete cost for everything out the door so that I could install myself?
The testimonials to your tech support are also reassuring, as I'd likely be the next one added to the list once I open the box.
Any feedback is much appreciated.
Thanks!
She would need an interface to do the door locks, arm/disarm and immobilizer. It would run $59.StricNyne wrote:hey Toby, my sister saw my alarm and is looking to score one, would she need anything special for a 2006 Nissan Maxima
Just letting you know I tried calling you at 7:30 tonight, but it gave me an automated message that the "cell customer is not available". I'll try a couple more times tonight.bkm00717 wrote:Hey Broadfield,

I have the same problem with my 2008 Nissan Rogue with IntelliKey and it is very annoying. The barrel stays locked and I have to step on the brake pedal to disengage the remote starter and restart the car normally. Can I easily swap it for your DLPK interface? or it requires more job than that?Broadfield wrote:
I assume it's a push button start Altima!?! Yes, there is a better way to do it. I install them so they are just like a standard ignition vehicle. After being remote started: you would get in, push the start button to turn on accessory then push it once more to turn on ignition. Then simply step on the brake and drive away. You would need a DLPK interface and then wire it a specific way. I have done Altima's, Maxima's, Murano's and some Infinity's this way. The DLPK will also take care of lock, unlock, trunk release, arm and disarm.
^^^^^This is exactly how it should work.clee666 wrote:I don't think mine was installed correctly by my local shop.If I unlock the doors with the remote starter's remote, everything is fine. But when I unlock the doors normally (keyless with my IntelliKey), the LED light inside my cars still blinks and the screen on my starter's remote still indicates that my doors are locked....Is this behavior normal?
No I don't.I still have both keys with me.Broadfield wrote:1st question: Did you have to give up an IKey for the install?
Good to know!Broadfield wrote:^^^^^This is exactly how it should work.
Well, unless you give up one of your valet keys, you will not be able to turn the barrel upon entering the vehicle after remote starting. The valet key is the part that comes out of the end of the fob. Now I have never installed one this way, as none of my customers have been willing to give up a valet key. So I wire the system so that when you open the door it shuts the remote start down. That way you can simply start it back up once you get in. If it's wired to only shutdown with the brake, then you have to pause for a couple seconds before you can actually turn the barrel after you step on the brake.clee666 wrote:
