Hi,

We are new to NICO and will begin sponsoring the forum in Jan. 2004. We were sponsoring Zilvia and 240SXforums, but they don't have near the membership and near the opportunity. We look forward to working with all the NICO members this upcoming year.

We are located in Searcy, Arkansas and are the East Coast Distributor for McKinney Motorsports. We are building our 1998 240SX this year with S14.5 conversion (because that's what the magazines want) and RB26DETT motor. We are doing technical installs for upcoming HCI Magazine articles that will begin running in the March 04 issue and will hopefully continue into the early part of 2005. Please check out the cars complete transformation from start to finish, I think you will be suprised at how nice it's turning out.

I hope to be able to give advice to the RB swap community, and you are welcome to call our shop for tech advice at any time. We do carry the full line of McKinney Mount Kits, Driveshafts, Downpipes, etc.

We are also releasing in about 3 weeks in conjunction with McKinney Motorsports a big brake upgrade for the 240SX. Our kit will allow you to match the 300ZX calipers to the Supra TT rotors. Kits will include everything you need to install onto the 240SX. We don't have a retail price yet, but I hope to know something within the next week or so.

For the RB26, we are keeping the twins. In fact, we are upgrading them to Hybrid T28R's, a new brand of turbo's made in Australia that haven't been released to the public. The turbos we have been told are good for 420HP/a piece. We aren't needing that kind of horsepower in the 240SX as we are building it for a 10 sec daily driver. The goal is to keep the motor around 550-600rwhp. In addition, we will be using a 120 shot of direct port nitrous, which should make even more HP on that motor.

The body kit is being custom made by C-Wings for my car. All of the body panels will be in Carbon Fiber, since this is the trend as we saw at SEMA. The only thing not carbon, will be the A-pillars up. The car is being painted House of Kolor Oriental Kandy Blue. The very first article in HCI Magazine will come out in March and will feature our tech install on "How to Paint the Show Car Engine Bay."

I don't want to give away every detail, so that the magazines will be something to look afford to. Let me know what you guys think, since the car is not yet completed, we would love suggestions on what you'd like to see.

Thanks for your time!

for those that have critisized the current underground site, the critisizm hasnt gone unnoticed. the new site im working on will look like this;

it wont have online ordering right off the bat, but if chris decides his volume (he focuses on shop work right now, since his mechanic has years of experience and is damn good at what he does) is high enough, ill throw it in for him. chris will be receiving all of my business, and i hope to refer most of my buddies to him too.

As I have stated already, we would love to know what you all would like to see out of our demo car. The goal for this project in conjunction with HCI doing the articles on the build, was to build the ultimate 240SX owners dream car. We don't have a $200,000 budget, but we do have a long list of sponsors have sponsored nearly every aspect of the car.

Current Sponsors:

more coming soon....

Please email us at [email protected] or call us toll free at 888-UM-SPORTS if you have any questions. We are working currently to come up with a discount structure for NICO members on select products, please let us know what brands you would be most interested in.

Thanks!

And as for now, we have no intentions to sell the car, lol! But who knows what the future may bring, if we do decide to sell it eventually, NICO members will be the first to know.

Of course, depending on your wallet.........lol......

Hi,

We will wire the harness for you, what we need is the KA wirng harness and the RB wiring harness sent to us. The current turn around time is about 2-3 weeks. The cost is $400, and is the best $400 investment you will make on that car. Our affiliate McKinney, has a patent on the wiring, and I can assure you that with our harness you're car will start. Look for more info coming soon on our website....

Thanks!

I don't think you have worry about that, McKinney Motorsports does the wiring for us. I don't think you have to worry about them going out of business as they have been around for over 40 years. Plus, as their East Coast distributor, they wouldn't have choosen us if we were some petty shop. They have a reputation to keep up, and wouldn't endanger it with a shop that they felt wasn't responsible.

We have been in business almost a year now, but like I said, we haven't sponsored the NICO forums, so we didn't post on here. Which is obviously why you haven't heard much about thus...

Thanks for your time.

Hey Chris....

I would like to see a widebody for your S14. If you designed one and made it affordable I'm sure it would sell. I was going to do a GP sports widebody, but the only place I could find that sells it wanted to sell it piece by piece. Which came to a VERY high price.

Also, if you designed one, you could have the option of a widebody with the S15 front end. That is what I really would like to do, but after buying the S15 front end, the widebody, and then having to have it all grafted.......Well, you know, the cost would be outrageous.

Another idea......

A roll bar kit for the 240's. I don't know of any company that offers these. The few people I know with a roll bar in a 240 had to have it custom done. A roll bar kit would be great for the do it yourselfers like me.

Oh, if you do work with any of this......

Will I get a discount on them??? Cause I'll deffinately be one of your first customers!! :D

Anyways, just a few things I would like to see..:)

Bolt on S15 conversion for S14 that would use stock S15 lights.

Key word here is bolt-on. These would sell like hotcakes...

Personally, I dont think an s15 conversion is a dream car at all. I think its butchering an already nice car. However, Im sure it will be sweet when its finished. I guess I just wish more people would realize the beauty of the s14s and how amazing they can look with some of the body kits that are already available for them.

I agree....

The only way I would consider a S15 front end is if I did a widebody. But without a widebody, I wouldn't think of it. I love the way the S14 looks, especially with some of the body kits out for it. I may put the 97'-98' front on the other 95' I just bought, I just think they have a more aggresive look.

Chris:

Since you are asking for input:

-a real strong brake kit ,is what I think would be important for a complete flagship car.-An oversize radiator-Dont make the wheels huge just for show a car the size of a 240 is served aplenty by 17's-One cosmetic feature I would enjoy, would be a really nice color changing paint job, eitehr that or an ivory pearl quartz to the standard of early Q45's ( fluorine based clearcoat)- On such a hgh end car seats should be leather,-Maybe an aftermarket diff with cooling fins?

I agree with Fred on his comments...Wouldn't it be great to here a magazine print, "This S14 is covered in a glimmering pearl ivory quartz three stage paint found on early Q45s, it looks..

Hi,

I expected to take heat for doing the S15 conversion, since so many people love the Kouki front end. But you have to look at this not from a 24sx owners point of view, but from a business owners point of view. The car is a demo car, and with being a demo car, it is going to be seen by more than just 240SX owners. It doesn't matter what car show i attend, I always have people ask if we're going to do the S15 conversion. They feel it is downright sexy and I personally love the headlights. And as my car, I can do whatever I want, lol!

No, I understand and appreicate your viewpoints on the front end conversions. It is all a matter of opinion and we feel this is the best choice for us. Since we are changing almost everything else, why not? Lol!

I wanted to touch on the GP sports questions. We import GP Sports and I will be happy to give you pricing if you will email us. Im not going to post prices, since this is most likely a violation on NICO. There is word of C-Wings making a kit that looks very similiar to the BN Sports Widebody replica, but as you know the costs is substantial. The labor at a body shop and trying to get it to fit perfectly, would be a hastle.

We also import Masa Motorsports for the guy who was asking about the bolt-on kit for the S15 conversions. Their fenders are flawless and we've had no problems with fitment. I would highly recommend their conversion fenders, with a S15 core support, you should have a near "bolton" kit.

For the person asking about the roll cage, if you dont plan on running it NHRA legal, you can look into a Cusco chromoly cage or Safety 21 steel cage. They bolt together, which prevents them from being NHRA legal, but they feature perfect fitment and can be had for around $1000.

PalmerWMD, we are installing our new 300ZX big brake upgrade with the Supra TT rotors in the front, on the back were doing the 300ZX rear calipers with 300ZX rotors. The rear is more difficult to do, but with the kind of horsepower we will potentially obtain, it is a requirement that we do the rear 300ZX brake upgrade as well.

In terms of a larger radiator, I totally agree. The problems with the RB series motors is they run so hot. A stock KA radiator would blow very quickly, so it is imperative you go with an aftermarket. McKinney has tried Koyo and wasn't totally impressed. Their were still some cooling issues. We are sponsord by Fluidyne and are waiting to see how they handle.

I guess I will go ahead and talk about the wheels. We are currently talking with 5Zigen about making a 17x10 FN01R-C for the rear. I love this wheel and feel that it would probably be the best choice for a RB owner on a tight budget that is looking for a fairly lighweight wheel. I would really appreciate it if some of you would call 5Zigen this week and encourage them to release this wheel.

We have a full sponsorship with House of Kolor and will be following their advice on the paint selection. We are pretty sure the exterior will be Oriental Kandy Blue. The Kamilion line, the color changing paints you referred to, are very expensive to paint and if you get any damage to the body of the car, trying to match the old paint can be very difficult We are going for a simple paint job that is elegant and will be appreicated. No Stickers and L.E.D. muffler addons for us, lol!

In terms of seats, we haven't thought that far ahead. One of our current customers has offered us the stock leather 240SX seats, which I am perfectly content with. We have also looked at the Sparco Milano's, but they are overpriced in my opinion.

Thanks all for your opinions and critisizms, I'd love to hear more of your thoughts.

Chris, Im just giving you heat. I completely understand your decision for the S15 conversion from a business standpoint. That is what is popular with all of the mass import fans. I don't blame you at all because that is what will get your business some recognition... however, you do have to understand the flak from 240 purists. ;)

Oh and if you dont want those leather 240 seats... tell the guy I'll buy them!

Thanks! We have already sent them our proposal, and are simply waiting to hear something back. I love that wheel, especially in bronze. They currently sell the 17x10 in Japan, but we are told they are waiting til Febuary or March to release it in the USA. I think they will sell really well, especially to the RB owners, whom 17x9 is simply not enough.

Hi,

The downpipes have to be custom made. Mckinney is working on some prototypes and should have a downpipe ready to be released in the next few weeks. I have no idea on pricing, but I'm guessing somewhere around the $500-600 range.
