Hey Guys,

We are working on the next issue of HCI magazine and I wanted to give you guys a sneek peak at the upcoming April Article.

We are doing the Supra TT rotors with 300ZX calipers for the mag, and oh man does it look sweet!

This is a pic of the stock 240SX brake system vs. our TT Supra Rotor/ 300ZX Caliper system.

I will post some pics whenever we finish the swap tomorrow.

Let me know what you think? I'd love some feedback.

what is the benefit of the supra rotor over the Z32 rotors? i'm guessing larger diameter but how much larger are they?

my ideas are no giant spoilers and not more graphics than paint, its stupid when people cover the passenger side windsheild with all the sponsors, and no giant blingin neon flashin stereo.

but those are my ideas for a mainstream ultimate 240sx, if it was my ultimate it would be a flat black sleeper with a monster sr in it. and it would be an 180sx:ylsuper

Ya, big wings suck. A simple skyline or drift wing would look great. Im not really sure to 5Zigen wheels will get the attention of the people you are trying to get attention from. A set of Volk, Blitz, Work, or Advan rims would look nice. You dont see many blitz or advan rims in magazines. Im partial to the Work Meisters myself. But those are just my 2 cents. I personally like the 5Zigens, but i dont think theyll grab the import community's attention like the mentioned wheels.

Thanks for your feedback!

The reason we released the Supra TT rotor upgrade is because it smokes most of the JDM kits out there.

The Supra rotors are 324 mm in diameter! 44mm bigger than the 300ZX calipers! Thats some stopping power!

For those of you who are not big fans of the 5zigen wheels, I don't care! No, I'm just kidding.

We choose the 5zigen wheels because they are # affordable to the average consumer. (For the guy who said it's not good marketing, we sell about 10 sets of FN01R-C's for every set of Volks we sell!) But most importantly we went with the wheels because they offer a 17x10 in a wheel that only weighs 16 pounds! That is impressive!

We are having to compensate the weight from the RB26 with weight reduction from other areas. Wheels and tires are a great place to save.

Thanks!

Chris

P.S.- Im not really supposed to release pics before the article comes out....(Come on, give me some peer pressure, lol!) Guys, you won't believe how nice it looks!

For those of you who are wondering, those wheels are 18". They were the only ones I had in the shop bay, so I put them up to give you an idea of how big this brake kit we are releasing is.

On 17's, you can only fit two fingers in between the rotors and the wheel!

Hey Guys,

It's been awhile since Ive updated the status of our project RB26 240sx.

We picked up BF Goodrich two weeks ago as our tire sponsor. They really got on the ball and we got our tires this past week:

F: 225/40/18- BF Goodrich g-Force T/A® KDR: 275/35/18- BF Goodrich g-Force T/A® Drag Radial

We're using ROH Drift-R Wheels in a 18x8, 18x9 setup for show/street.

5Zigen USA was supposed to have our FN01R-C's for our wheel and tire guide we were shooting for the magazine, but Yoshi from 5Zigen said the the 17x0's are now delayed til April. Not a big problem as we won't be shooting the front cover issue til Mid-April anyway.

Apexi, another sponsor on the car, sent us the N1 Drag Type V Coilovers last week. The Type V, for those of you who might not be familar, are designed for street applications. They feature a 46mm piston, while the N1 Pros use 52mm piston allowing for a softer ride.

The car goes to the paint shop tomorrow to finish the exterior. I'm afraid that the car is going to end up looking like we copied Carbon Creations RX-7. We decided to leave the carbon fiber pieces carbon, and paint the rest of the car House of Kolor PBC-36 TruBlue Pearl which matches the engine bay paint guide that you can see in the March 04 issue I wrote for HCI magazine.

I'm going to wait til we get the car back from the paint shop in two weeks before I post pics of the exterior.

We're leaving for the D1 event on Friday, so if anyone is going to be there, leave me a contact #, I'd love to meet up!

Take care!

Hey Guys,

Well, just writing back on the status. We are getting the car back hopefully tomorrow afternoon from the paint shop.

I am dying to see it. I went by today hoping to see the current status and the guys wouldn't let me see it. They are going for the "shock and awe" factor when we see it as he called it, lol!

When I get the car, I'll post pics.

The car leaves hopefully this weekend for LA for it's final steps.

If any of you get a chance, go up to GTP (http://www.importfan.com) and check out our car. It will be there getting the carbon fiber body kit put on.

Take care!

One more thing.....Talked to Neil, editor of HCI magazine tonight and our big brake kit is coming out in TWO weeks in the May issue.

Please go out there and buy these articles.

HCI is committed to doing 240SX tech articles for the next 12 months and it has taken awhile to get our stuff published.

Hopefully, we will see other magazine taking HCI's lead and doing more feature articles, front covers, etc. for the 240's.

Chris - We could really use a print magazine affiliation. Perhaps HCI would be interested? Drop a hint and let me know if anything develops...

Keep up the great work, I'm glad to see the members keeping you busy!

When is it going to be at GTP? Just so happens I have to go back there next week so we can finish test fitting some new fenders, and I would love to see it when it's there. Why are you sending it all the way out here to have them put the CF kit on?

Well,

Basically it all comes down to money, lol..

My motor is in Los Angeles, XS engineering is in LA, GTP is in Irvine. The graphics company is in LA. Half of our other sponsors are in California.

It's cheaper for us to have our car sent out there, then for us to pay for everything to be sent to us.

McKinney, our brother company, will be storing our car for us after GTP finishes the body kit. Our front cover shoot is in April, so were glad to have somebody watching my baby! If you guys from the LA area get a chance, stop by their shop and check it out.

Greg, give me an idea on what you want? I do have a good relationship with the editor and he would at least look at your proposal.

Also, did you see our 6 1/2 speaker adapters for the S13 doors that we just released to the NICO guys?

http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....81181

We have had so many emails asking about them as the stock speakers are 4x6 and it's impossible to find a component system for these. So, we took 1/4 oak board and fabricated some adapters which we're selling for $40/pair with Free Shipping.

The fitment is awesome, and while they aren't hard to make, I think the NICO guys will find them attractive as they will make the swap painless. The speaker adapters come predrilled and with all necessary hardware.

Take care!

You should check out Sport Compact Car, that's what they've been working on, but with an s13 coupe. Flat black, sr20, road race setup. Pretty informative articles too.

So as not to sidetrack: UNDERGROUND, or someone else, how much does the RB26 weigh? (ok, which smart### is gonna say search? Hmmm?) Yeah, I"ve been looking at the SR swap, but seeing this thread start just piqued my curiosity on this point. Is anyone road racing an RB26 240? Thanks.

I'm just test fitting some fiberglass vented S14 fenders. I've actually had them on my car now for the last couple weeks, I need to go back and finish up the fiberglass work.
