WOW great thread! I'll be picking one up for my RB20, since I will drift at track events often.

I'm going to jegs now to price out cooling fans and these little buggers.

why did you edit this out?:

"Neejay- I believe you can use one of these. Keep in mind the bulk of the cooling system is below the head gasket, with some big passages in the lower 1/2 to 1/3 of the head, then your heater core is slightly above that. So the top of all those is a few inches below the hood line, so you could mount it like every one else just try to keep it as close to the hood as possible.

The IM lines, especially the bleeder valve are just lines with constant flow. In fact you could even run the hoses that run to the bleeder valve to your catch/swirl can. There's really only a few lines that run rear the top of the hood and they are under constant flow, which we are using that any way. Your engine being an inch or two higher isn't really a problem. "

Is it false? lol

So what about RB25's with Greddy intake manifolds? If there a place for the bleeder screw on the manifold?

No I just thought at the time I posted it you didn't think it was worth it and was trying to get you to put it on.

I then re read your last posts and saw you had it setup and edited it out thinking it wasn't relevant. Which it still is I suppose. Unless that's not your car? You weren't quite clear on that.

IDK I was in a rush earlier, and I hadn't even eaten anything all day so I wasn't thinking past how the system actually worked. Funny you caught that though!

But jegs didn't have any of these and their 12in fan looks like crap and is $100 for two, and their 13in fans that look better and quieter are $150. What did you guys use for 2 pusher fans?

Oh and what size is the t stat outlet for the lower rad hose? I just got to that and Id like to fill my cooling system tomorrow.

no there isn't a place on the Greddy for the bleeder, but, you can still hook it up without one. Thats how I have mine setup.

So did you just cap off that nipple or did you run it somewhere else?

I have two nipples capped off. But other peoples setups will differ.

I have a Griffin radiator with no radiator cap. I use the breather tank as my radiator cap.

I have a fitting on the radiator running one line to the bottom fitting on the breather. Then I use one of the top fittings on the breather to run a line to the overflow resevoir. Done.

Doesn't do the cute swirling pot thing, but, I could care less. It works.

Whenever I drain coolant or do something to my car that requires me to fill my coolant back up in my car I just leave the breather cap off with my car running, keep topping off the coolant and within 20-30 mins I have all the air bubbles out.

1 year later - are these still going strong for everyone? I realized I never posted pics of my engine bay to get some opinions:

Looks like I might be able to get it at least level with the bleeder screw...I think I'm still going to order one anyway. Thoughts?

Well, I did it! I disconnected the throttle body coolant line(s), deleted the stock bleeder assembly, and I plugged that coolant line on the back of the intake manifold and made sure it was propped upwards (the one that led up to the throttle body).

I took the stock bleeder nipple/port and ran that to the 2nd swirl pot port as the highest point in the cooling system. Amazing that my temps decreased so much. I was able to drive a few miles without even needing my 2nd e-fan (forgot to turn it on lol). My temps never rose above 180F, even when pushing it. Turned both fans on when I got home, went inside to grab the camera for this pic, and the temp had already dropped to 170F (this is in 80F+ weather)
