Yeah man. Fixed my girlfriend's car this weekend too. Her cabrio dome light switch broke off and never worked before she bought the car.
We searched a lot of junkyards for cabrio cars but they are hard to come by. I realized I could hot-wire the door lamp circuit to at least provide her light when the door is popped since she won't have a switch to switch it to permanently on. It works great, and actually her headlamp and all lamps are made by HELLA including the dome light! Their name's on the plastic molding :) cool.
Image

Upon not needing my extra down pipe anymore, this one's for sale. I bought it from Jeff a year ago and apparently it's a greddy lol.

Hey uhh, I don't think I have ADD, I'm just a dork and think faster than I can speak? My brain moves on to the next topic too fast.

ANywhooo, got some package from Mario haha... So glad I didn't let scotts exh order one for me.. When I asked if it would be magnaflow, he said oh yea it will either be that or a wicked flow brand, but they're the same... Uhh yeah I don't think wicked flow cat converters exist lol.
Image

Gehman's Exhaust cut the test pipe out and welded it to the flanges really nice. They're quick workers; my car was in, up, down and out in 30min.
Image
Ohh yeah man check that out, just purchase another test pipe and I can throw fireballs whenever I want again ;)
It's nice that they leak test the welds w/ a type of stethoscope lol..

Here is a picture of the work they did to the downpipe:
Image

I also test fitted the rear wheels up front. I didn't really lower the jacks for this picture, just enough that I could see it would fit flush enough to my liking. I might have to add more front camber, and I will definitely have to flatten the fender flares, but I'm looking forward to new tires and larger wheels all around finally.
Image
I'll order them this weekend.

OH BY THE WAY>>>>>
The cat is awesome :D Car sounds pretty much the same, a little quieter in 5th at cruising and quieter on the decel closed throttle times. Just in time for earth day heh. Only time will tell if I get better MPG's because of maybe a more accurate O2 reading.

silly me, and here I thought that WAS ADD. :chuckle:

very nice cat/work done to it. just wondering allowed, has any exhaust shop ever given any of you guys crap about having a test pipe installed? I went to Red Run and handed them my test pipe with cat clamshell around it and the guy just looked through it, chuckled and then put it on.

did they redo the flex section of the downpipe? looks really good.

it was nice seeing you, cait and your car last weekend, hopefully with nice weather i'll see the lanc crew more often

Scott's didn't say anything about my test pipe. Gehman's didn't care either, but I'm sure they were happy to get paid to install my cat haha. I saved over $200 and got what I wanted 3" piping by going to Gehman's ;) Yes they put in a new flex pipe and re-angled it to tuck higher.
Tokyo diner was awesome, I'll get my JDM on with you and kiet (and whomever else) anytime!
Moar fun with car friends must be had. Increase bro time. I want to maybe go to Hyperfest this year as well as another FD event. Kinda want to go to a more grassroots drift event.

Let me attempt to catch you up on what I did last weekend. I finished the foot well lighting, and each time I did it I couldn't make a video because it started pouring and I was outside. I used festoon bulbs with 6 wide LED's wired in, they look great, a nice clean white that blends with the dome light.
Once again it's hard to capture this light with my cam, but you get the idea :)
Image
Image

Well, it's raining today but I wanted to put my wheels on.. So screw it, I was outside getting soaked installing them and banging the front fenders flat. (yeah I know I shouldn't have, so i took a shower to warm up afterwards).

Now that the fenders are flat and the wheels are on, I can roll it and lower it tomorrow.
Here's a pic from when I went to get them mounted:
Image

I will post a final picture of the car when it gets lowered and aligned tomorrow. It looks nice though oooh yeaa!

Here's a video I did on replacing the mirrors with blue tinted ones from a 90s maxima I found at the junkyard. I have another set of mirrors for sale PM me.

They look great with my blue car/blue interior and... blue tinted sunglasses lol.

I also bought these sun visors because my girlfriend wanted to stay cool in the sun this summer. Last summer on our way to formula D we got stuck in 100* heat in Philly traffic with the sun blazing, that's why I ordered these. Hilariously JDM.

The Maxima mirrors are awesome!

Sadly, it doesn't reduce glare completely on my driver side, but it's better than nothing!

Yes exactly razi! It helps and when you're low it's much needed!

Yes I enjoy making vids to help people. I'll continue to make them, I filmed my self alignment today, I still have to demonstrate camber measurements and then I will compile it. Didn't have time to go over camber on video.
Lowered the front today to the max. I didn't remove collars but I did max it out after I took this picture. I kept letting the car down to see if I liked it until I was satisfied with the height.
Image

Pic of the alignment: The rear was actually out of toe because of the new springs (which lowered the car)
Image

When the alignment and lowering procedure was finished, I drove to my girlfriend's house and smelled some burning rubber, so I pulled over a few times to roll the front fenders. Now the tires don't rub the fenders while driving, but if I turn really hard they rub. No big deal, I don't do full lock turns at high speed lol.
Image

Went out to eat for a buddies birthday (Joel whos username is magnum375jr), and I saw this sign and had to take a picture with it lol!

Are there any other points of reference you could easily use to set the string straight?

I'm afraid that my adjustable FLCA lengths could differ slightly and throw my alignment off a bit if I do mine at home.

Oh boy good point. Well technically by lowering the car u change the track width a bit. If you can compare your new lca length to ur old oem ones u can try to draw up a triangle between the top of ur coil and the knuckle and lca arm to try and calculate your track width lol. Id say just add ur flca length to the oem arm length and that should get you close enough to drive confidently with. The more adjustments you have though, the harder self alignments become lol.

I managed to do an oil change today, and surprisingly the pan doesn't take more than a gallon of oil still. I could have sworn it did, but if not then that's fine with me, I didn't like buying 2 gallons of rotella once in awhile anyway.
This makes sense though because the FSM states a 3.25 Qt oil change with the factory pan. Tomei r/d factory pan states 600cc additional capacity which equates to about .63 Qts. Thus my new oil capacity is 3.884 Qts, which is probably how much I added tonight.

The best thing about my apartment in Hbg is living 300 feet from an Advance Auto Parts. I went there while I had the drain plug to get a copper gasket for the plug. It had been slowly leaking and making a mess of my skid plate!
Image

I'm loving the low life and scraping everywhere. The bash plate sign and sway bar should keep me safe. I also have plans for welding up my own nismo power brace in the summertime.

Uhhh, if you guys want to theorize how much more of an extended oil change interval you have with this 600cc of added oil capacity, look no further for linear interpolation is very simple!

Plug these numbers into microsoft excel: (you don't have to plug in X, it's just a placeholder helping us realize what we're solving for). Make sure you put the data where columns A and B are and in rows 1 and 2 or the formula below won't work. Lol let me know if you have questions, pm me.

Column| A | B |
1 | 4000 | x | new mileage:
2 | 3.25 | 3.884 | 4780.307692

formula to plug into a cell: =A1/A2*B2 <<Copy and paste this into any cell and it will solve the answer.

As you can see, a rough estimate of ~4800 miles is my new oil change interval when using a 4000 mile interval previously. This does not take any oil life test data into account though and is simply a novelty calculation, but it's fun to think about. For really useful information on your oil, check out WWW.blackstone-labs.com .

Yes, I change my oil every 4-5000 miles. It doesn't begin to darken that much until then! If I do some hard driving then I change it sooner but I drive a lot of hwy miles.

They're made by the Taiwanese company "Junyan". Yes, they're all the same. The "DMAX" one's even say "Junyan" on them; it's all marketing. I finally saw your car at Sonic, haha. Looks good, dude. Why didn't you pop the hood?

Oh, and Tom, your car looks muuuuch better with 17s! It looked really good; especially rolling up right behind me, haha.

No my family doesn't make them.
Taiwan and Korea is different you fool. ;)

Like RHS13 said, the taillights are made by Junyan, Dmax and Origin just sell them at silly prices.

Yes I know! My neighbors (who since have moved to SF CA) used to have one with the jdm tails!

The lights are the exact same thing so I got em on ebay. You know me haha. Money goes farther if ya figure out how to stretch it!
Beware though, dmax probably gets the 'perfect' ones. One of mine needs a re-seal. Also, there are so many random holes in the back of the housings I sealed a lot up before I put them on.

A lot of people ask why I didn't get kouki JDM lights. I just like the look of the OEM tails how I used to have mine, red on red. This looks pretty much the same with the clear white signals down below which in my opinion gives it a new-er car look. Kouki lights are nice but at some point everyone will have them.

Could a mod clean up 240wetguy's large quote?
