Well at least u know whats wrong. Why wouldn't they sit flush hrmmmmmmmmh? Lol. They look wound nicely, maybe not wound as flush as pbm springs?

Anyway, the whole car feels amazing now. It is perfect. Love em! Can't wait to feel more grip, and get the front wheels w new tires!

Ya like my new avatar photo? LOLLLL

:rotfl yeah.

Yeah the rest of the spring is sitting nicely, just the tail ends of it are sitting slightly off the perch.
I'm guessing the coils are binding there and causing that thunk noise.

Went to the junkyard again today! Scoping out engines for Josh, and I would have bought black door panels but the one had a cut on it and they had dumb tweeter speakers installed/cut into them :(. But I did get this!
Image

I cleaned them up with dawn because they were moldy lol! The bumper wouldn't separate from the lip and my bumper is ripped/trashed on the fender side so I figured why not get both and run a cleaner front bumper when I repaint.
Parking at the junkyard is always so tight and sketchy (I wanted to bring my truck but I didn't have it this weekend) so I parked near their mailbox in the dirt away from ford pickups who might run into me.. Whew! The wheel's sitting on that metal bar so it looks slammed.. I was kinda worried I would get stuck but it was all good when I left.
Image

This Amish dude just walks around throwing wood in the flatbed like it's no problem they're driving lul. I thought it was funny.

BTW, there's a screw that secures the recycling air lever I found was missing on my car, so I replaced it from a junk car and bam, no more rattling recycle air door when I shut the doors now, sounds like a new 240 lol.

Sunroof sun shield!
Image

I don't know if anyone has these anymore, but my car came with one. It had the crappy marble white paint splotched on it though.. Don't know who got it on there when they painted the door handles that horrible color. Cleaned the paint off with Goof-Off and to my surprise it didn't hurt the vinyl! Soapy bath then vinyl protector (turtle wax brand) to finish the cleaning.

It'll be nice to use this when the weather gets hott instead of it sitting in the crawlspace with bird-poop-like paint blobs on it lol.

I'm working on getting a high flo cat converter and new flex pipe put in. The downpipe leak is too much now from scraping and sounds like crap. Should have pics of the car on a lift soon, it looks dope up in the air!

very nice, havent checked in here for awhile. nice job with the map light. I lucked out when doing mine, i threw my old headliner that already was made for the map light on top of my new headliner, traced then cut.

Nice work on the sunroof shield too. I have a mint one of those as well as the bag and the hatch straps

Man, I want that sun shield. My 240 didnt have the sunrrof cover because I guess the guy took it off. I actually bought one alittle while ago but havent put it in yet because 1 Im lazy, 2 not exactly sure how to do it. I mean do I have to take off the entire headliner or can I just slide it in someway?

And sorry to be off topic, but where the F*** have you been White Comet?

Having a life and stuff, haha.

Looking good, Tom. I can't wait to have my SR in and running so there will be two SRs in Lancaster.

Yeah man I can't wait for you either, I hear your sohc doesn't cooperate sometimes lol.
It's ok Jeff some of us don't buy minty interior'd s13's like you haha. But I'm trying to make it nice and every little thing adds to making it feel more refined.

This week when I thoroughly cleaned the interior I applied electrical tape around the ignition keyway to keep that piece from falling and creating a gap.

I think Razi talked about this in his thread before, but I wrapped the cigarette power outlet in one layer of electrical tape and wow, it is so sturdy now and before it used to jar around when removing phone chargers etc..

Ordered this catalytic converter from Mario Andretti, he told me to trust Magnaflow LOL:
Image part number 53009

It will fit just perfectly in the test pipe area so I can take it off in favor of using a test pipe off road, because I would miss throwing fireballs.

Hopefully a recommended shop (Gehman's) will help me with the flex pipe and down pipe Friday. The other shop I went to didn't want to listen to the customer.

^ this. i mentioned earlier that I have a daughter now and i'm working full time in auto sales. Life gets away from you quick.

and Tom, I'm not saying mines better at all, it is nice to have good interior compared to what I had in that really rusty one that came with the sr though. keegan gave me the idea to lay one over the other and trace.

I wasn't going to try and front myself haha... I hardly know spanish.. Idk they did not do anything wrong, but you know me I am very particular and would like to:
1; retain original flanges for the cat to remove/replace
2; Have the flex pipe welded in the vertical portion of the downpipe much like the MAX cobra pipe.
3; Not get overcharged for being a yes man and not bringing my own cat to get installed.. I knew I woulda got robbed at the time and I won't let that happen lol.

Jeff I was just kidding man it's cool :) BTW you quoted my text as doug lol.

hah yeah i saw that it quoted as doug's and I have no idea why. I wasn't sure if there was anything wrong with this place so that I should avoid them. I've always loved red run. I've been going to them since their days at the old location

Sorry no pictures of the finished product up close yet. The other shop I went to for this downpipe work did a great job in under an hour! If you're local search Gehman's exhaust in Mohnton PA. We had a bit of trouble getting my car on the lift, but driving up on a 2x6 ramp with 2 2x4 pieces stacked at the end of the ramp yielded enough height for them to get the jacks on the front rails. Because mine aren't rusty they worked well.
Just a few shots from the day.
Image

This one I tried to catch them welding but I missed it!
Image

Finished product. Very close to everything above the frame rais, you can still see the flex section to the right. I went over a low speed bump yesterday and nothing scraped!
Image

Total work consisted of: cutting the vertical section to expand it and re weld at the higher angle, putting 4" of new SS pipe in and moving the new flex section back about 2 inches because there was more clearance in the catalytic tunnel punched into the body.
A new downpipe mount was also made because the ebay one included was crap, and he actually bolted it into the trans xmember instead of the trans mount, so I can use the peak transmission mount if I want to now with no loss of an exhaust mounting location.

I would totally recommend them to anyone seeing as they worked with my 3" pipe very well where others can't, and didn't complain that I was too low to get on the lift. Being able to deal with me poking around and making suggestions while fixing my car is a big plus haha.
I'm going back next Friday to weld the cat into the flex pipe flanges :)
This total job cost under 90 dollars and they only charge 23.xx for a 6" flex pipe... cheaper than ebay!

I took a vid of the road where my version 1 240sx died while on my way back from their shop. This reminds me that we need a local 240 reunion soon for real! :dblthumb:

"alright... oh my god, I always say that" :spitout:

best narrating of a video ever. I watched parts of it several times lol. good to know that you found another place that does good exhaust work. and good vid for sure, I know the road but never knew exactly where the grey 240 died. I know exactly what you mean about being less mature and having no regard for the speed limit. I used to rip up lynwood the same way. BTW- cops in pa can pull you over for less then 5mph over the limit. They almost never will, but legally they can pull you over at 1mph over the limit just for an excuse to harass the blue shuttle

Yeaaah man Raz! Pretty much nothing rattles. I'm always first to check on anything haha. Well normally the battery box likes to chatter on the sound tar it's sitting on, and since last spring AAA unlocked my car (forgot the keys in the ignition, didn't have my spare on me!) the window track can create some creaking that I should tweak, that's it as far as rattles.

Yeah, I should just make 'alright' my tag line to starting a video lol. I felt kinda like that guy in the cholesterol medication commercial when he's talking about the thin ice he used to skate on as a kid haha.. I am more mature about it now but off roads is where the action's at.
Lol I did my first drift>to>oversteer on lynwood. Lol I'm so bad with confrontations about said driving maneuvers.

It's hard to capture LED light on a cam at night. Perks of having a working dome light again? 3 dollar 48 LED dome light from my good friend Peter Wong in Hong Kong! His name's on the package haha :)
It looks great in person though. Very sharp and definitely more light from these.
Image

2x 27mm festoon LED bulbs up next for the foot-well lighting. Maybe I'll do a vid on how to integrate these into the '89 and '90 factory door lamp circuitry.
