You like rare and hard to find parts and are in the hunt for cup holders? Well, there is a very nice OEM 2-cup cupholder you can get from Japan. It goes on the center armrest. It makes the armrest a couple inches higher which, for me, feels better. The only thing that took me a while to get used to is shifting with a drink in it. But it's not a huge problem. Better than punching your drink everytime you shift into 1st, 3rd, or 5th.

This is real? Like it was a real OEM part? I had NO idea this existed. I must see if i can obtain one. I am not going to lie i probably wont have anything but bottled water or bottled juice in the car anything with a screw on cap. So i don't really need to have a cup holder but if this is out there i would like to have one JUST CAUSE lol.

I always thought the arm rest cup holders were all DIY's and that the free box/cup holder was the ONLY oem cup holder thing. Thanks for looking out and letting me know man!

J/w did you go over and get yours? or you know people there? or what? E-bay or website? Lend me the information you can and i would be forever grateful.

Thanks for checking out my thread and sorry for the lack of updates! Soon, really soon!

EDIT PS: Was this third party made or Nissan made?

Well, I don't know if it's Nissan per-say, but it fit like a glove. The distributor on my car went out (KA24E) and there is a place in Washington state called Feltons. They specialize in Nissan/Infinity parts ONLY. New and used. So I went there and got the distributor. I've seen people with the open din cup holders and asked the guy about it and he said "No, I dodn't have that but hold on, I've got something you might like instead". Out he came with this little gem. My eyes lit up like a little boy's on Christmas morning. He said they went for like $60 but let me have it for only $30. I called him back a few months later to see if he had anymore or could get them but I got the only one he's had, and the only one he's ever seen. I have personally never seen another one with my own two eyes. Thats been the best $30 I've ever spent on my car.

I prefer to sketch with just pencils or markers, but I can work with any medium. I wouldn't call myself an artist though. I am 14 years old (everything I know about cars is from online, and small hands-on experinces), and my obtainable dream car is a 240sx, a clean S14 zenki; if I were to modify it I would start slow. Strip most of the interior, bucket seats/harness, custom rollcage, coilovers, tie rods, sway bars, strut bars (im getting carried away here), Koyo radiator, walbro 225, and basic bolt-on's, etc (I am into autocross and track racing, so all mods would be for suspension or safety to begin with) My dream car would be a Skyline R32 or an 05' STi. I have seen m tr4nch's project before, and I do admire it. Would I ever do it? No. If he enjoy's doing that, more power to him. If you enjoy what you are doing, have fun. Do I consider it, in some ways, useless; yes. The way I look at it is, that $800 bumper you got is a new t3/t4. And again, each to his own.

Sorry for being an ***, I guess I get more of where your coming from now.-Scott

You are an artist and don't let ANYONE tell you different please. As for an s14 goes i WOULD have gone with an s14 but i wanted to be able to get a car and not pay any payments on it. I hate monthly bills so i try to keep them to a minimum that is why i got my s13, paid for it in full and no payments to worry about. I am just crazy like that i guess.

You don't need to be sorry, its all good. Just when you come into THIS thread come in with an open mind and see everyone as your equal, with the intent to speak with respect, and its all good to me bro.

Thanks for coming back to my Thread!

Hey bro i appreciate the kind words! Thanks a lot, I am really trying to squeeze every penny to update more so there is some sort of eye candy on here haha.

You know what i have realized? there is never enough money to do what you WANT, Most usually always enough for needs but never enough for wants ^^ but its ok. When you start your build i will be watching!

About the nice thing, I have my moments when i can be a prick, Like with ignorant people or people who hold themselves higher then others. Honestly though i am only 22 and my brother and I have been through A LOT. I like nothing more then being the exact opposite of the people who created me (biological parents), Especially when i know my mom and dad (foster mom and dad) are proud of who i am and what i choose to be. Sounds cheesy, you can call me lame if you want haha.

No one is perfect, Everyone is equal, Unconditional love is an amazing thing. To much bad in the world, i just don't like contributing to much to it.

Thanks for checking out my thread bro!

Ok so this is the first of many updates for 2009!

Before I post all the pics i want to make it perfectly clear that ALL of the credit for craftsmanship, and fabrication goes to Broadfield. Many Thanks and many More to come!

++++++ GHAST RAMBLING +++++++-Some of you know i like to drag things out, This next little section is me rambling on about things that are not REALLY important. If you want to get in and out fast just scroll down to the pictures!

Moving on, This is the rough/beginning stages of Project: "Dome Turbo" ( i know it is a map light and not a Dome light but i don't think map turbo sounds cool so its dome turbo for dome light and turbo timer.)

Now as stated before i am all about enjoying the drive/ride (especially what i have planned for this car). With that being said the cockpit has to be just right for me. I am into the whole space racer kinda fiction thing. IE: Star Wars Pod Racing , Speed Racer is a good example of fictional racing, Mainly the cockpit. I don't know how many of you play video games but there was a game called "Wipe Out" I used to play a LONG time ago, it was basically a fast paced racing game with anti gravitational aerodynamic ships, it was fun nonetheless. OR Even something like a Gundam?! Who thinks that would be cool to pilot? better yet who knows WTF i am talking about?! YAY!

A Shots out of the newest Wipe Out Game on Ps3

I always thought HOW cool would it be to actually pilot something like that? And what would it look like inside?Buttons everywhere, the computer would talk to you in that sexy but serious female voice, warning lights/sounds. Gauges to monitor every vital point of the ship/car.

There is so much more. But just so i don't get carried away take what you visualize from what i just said and mix it with a bit of class and finesse with a subtle touch. That is the look and feel i am going for in my interior, MY COCKPIT.

Enjoy.

PS: You think i am crazy now? Wait for late 2010 when I get into the paint and body stages. All i can say is Stickers Stickers Stickers! +++++++++++END RAMBLING++++++++++++++++++ Bottom of an intact Map light

Top ( or bottom however you look at it ) Of the map light.

HKS Turbo Timer Type-01 Limited Black Case ( SAE Measurement )

Togetherness...

Remember this is the FIRST stage.

Thanks for dropping by my thread guys!

Ghasty

That is what i am going for ^^

With a dash of "Spaceship Cockpit-ness"

I wish there was a way to make the car say "Welcome Pilot" upon ignition. Then after it reached a certain temp or 3-5 minutes of warm up time it would say "All Systems Running Optimal" Oh oh oh and then when the Parking break is released it would say " Please Remember to Fasten your seat belt"

Along with some other tight phrases after i turn the car off and the turbo timer is running haha.

Think it is possible to have that done somehow? I really got to look into that!

Thanks for checking out my Thread!

The ignition and parking brake would be the easiest. For the ignition, just run a relay to a sound board with the "Welcome Pilot" voice. "Welcome Pilot" and the start time would be about the same so you could do it just for that turn to start the car and not the "on" position.

As for the E-Brake, Radio shack has some micro swithes you could run to the sound board.

Reminds me of the older Nissans that would say "Key is in the ignition" when you opened the doors instead of the all-anoying "DING,DING,DING".

For the "All systems running correctly" couldn't you run the soundboard to a timer?

the problem with running a timer, is that there is no exact time that teh car warms up every time so you'd need something more accurate.

maybe wire it into an efan. if the efan is set to turn on at a certain temperature the voice woudl activate once that temp is reached and the fan kicks on. the problem with that though is that the voice woudl sound EVERY time teh fan kicks on. just throwing ideas around

The more i think about it the more i want to make it happen! No joke.

Thanks for the info i am seriously thinking about looking into this!

That's a bunch for checking my thread.

I have no idea. I know nothing about electronics till this next semester starts up LOL

TFSB!

That sounds like it would work to me! Again i know nothing about electronics though.

And ideas are just what i need for something like this so thank you very much.

TFSB!

I will definitely need ideas and thoughts/opinions on making something like this happen because i think it would be sick as hell to have LOL. Some may get annoyed fast but to me it would be awesome. On top of that it would be one more reason to get an aftermarket seat over just buying s14 seats.

I already have something sort of like this in my Daily Driver. My radar detector thing, when it powers on with the car it says "testing" *doot doot doot* "System Ready" "Voice Alert" But that is not going to be nearly cool enough for my 240 haha.

Thanks again for checking my thread guys. I am going to start a new thing for my thread TFSB = Thanks For Stopping By.

Keep the ideas coming!

Damn no way! I live over by Evans and Bulverde. Most of the original 240 owners around here got rid of theirs and went on to better stuff though. I'm actually pretty sure I've met you once before too because of your Lancer.

I really like the car so far. For what i have planned for it, the damn thing has really grown on me

What do they all drive now? My friend just recently traded in his Supra and his Mr2 and got himself and Evo X and a 05 Wrx for his fiance. He makes money in the military. He let me drive it though so that is good enough for me. So hes been hanging with the Evo crowd they have some pretty sweet cars, one guy runs a business out of his garage. Good people really down to earth.

Are you going to school this semester?

You know where 1604 and Bulverde is at? By milburgers and then up that big *** hill is where i live. Up inside knollCreek.

You still driving a 240 or you move on to something better as well?

I have an old blitz talking turbo timer it says welcome or something in Japanese i forget i haven't had it hooked up since i sold my most recent turbo s13 , then countdown start in Japanese when the turbo timer starts running..

also you could have just got the headliner / belts from a Canadian 240sx..

we don't have gay auto belts, but i support your jdm ness, this reminds me of my first coupe build, haven't doen this sort of thing in a while, got hooked on power.

also as an fyi jdm s13's have larger glove boxes, with some customization you can actually fit a box of that size in a usdm one just ditch most of the stock metal bracket , and you have to mirror the hump in the glove box for the fan.. it's alot of work for nothing but as far as i know nobody but me has bothered to do it

keep up the good work can't wait to see it finsihed

Let me understand. You are telling me that i can get a JDM glove box and it will be bigger on the inside? IE: Fit more gauges and stuff and also still have room for a cooling fan and extra materials ?

TFSB i would really like to talk more about the glove box. And if you can if you could post pictures of yours here i do not mind i would love to see it.

Thanks again!

It is comments like that one that keep the mental structure behind this build sturdy and persistent. The ideas flow from the positive feedback, without confusing the reasoning of why i am building it the way i am.

Thank you, I really appreciate that. Not so sound cheesy but after this week i really needed that .

The dream is only coming to life with the skills of Broadfield though.

Just a brief explanation of what you are seeing. Basically the stock guts and mounting points are being modified and gutted so that they can still be utilized. Reasons being; 1. It is a easier more reliable route to take then making your own custom bracket. 2. It maintains the ease of popping off and on.3. Just in case i need to switch this over to another s13 or God forbid i even sell it, it would be just a bolt in product.Pretty much just because it is convenient.

The harness will be cut about 3-5 inches after the turbo timer and will be extended to reach down the pillar to see its destined position. At the cut off point on the turbo timer a new harness will be made so that if/when i do need to uninstall or remove for whatever reason i do not need to take out the entire system and mess with pulling and tugging on wires. It will be plug and play, which will also make it easier on installation. Again just thinking ahead for convenience.

Hope you enjoyed!
