I've actually been hoping to run some 10 inchers in the back but am having a hard time finding people that have actually done it w/o ALOT of modifications. Let me know how the 10s fit and what offset if possible, thanks. Car looks very promising

I have have a 26-10-16 ET Drag mounted to a 16x9" wheel that we use on our second shop Supra. The lug pattern is the same. I have had these wheels on my 95 SE 5speed with no interferance. I was also running Volk GTP 17x10" wheels in the back with a 275 40-17 Nitto drag radial. The wheels just BARELY fit. I had to grind a bit on the lower A arm where they just rubbed the inside of the wheel lip and the lip also would just touch the shock body on full compression.

I ordered Bogart P1 Billet Drag Stars 15x9 with a 7" back spacing. I believe this will be just a bit more back spacing then I need but I can always add spacers. Hopefully they will be in some time soon and I can mount them up and let you know how they fit. I also ordered 15x3.5s for the front. I dont remember the back spacing but it was as much as they could put on the 3.5" wide wheel. It was either 2" or 2.5". Hopefully the setup will fit well and look ok.

I have the 300z TT AT rear diff and axels at the shop. I am sure that these will be plenty strong for the weight of the car and the power I plan to put down. I am just not sure how I am going to get those to work in my car. The advantage of using an automatic trans is its MUCH less harsh on the drive train then a manual trans car. On the MKIV Supra, we have seen quite a few driveshaft and differential failures with the manual trans cars and only ONE failure of a diff on an automatic car. This failure was caused by launching on a trans brake. This Supra has our SP400 transmission in it.

I don't think the stock axels are legal for a car running sub 10sec times...

According to the NHRA rule book, you need to replace the rear axels and diff with a straight axel setup. This rule is overlooked for the imports especially when your running in a class that requires you to run the stock IRS setup. Easy Street's sub 10sec WRX is competing in the NHRA, NDRA, IDRC, and BOTI Import races and gets thru tech every time. I talked to Ali about this about two weeks ago and basically he said they have to let it slide.

Cool, I was worried about the axels, Custom crap gets expensive. I didn't know that about the IRS.

You'll need a dose of N20 to get that to spool up. Whats the EX AR?

Its a .96 A/R and yes we do use a 200hp spool up kit to get it up on line. On a KA with only 2.4L I am sure that it would need simular NOS setup to get it rolling. Its actually only an 81mm turbine wheel but still put 960whp down at base boost (31 psi) with a 2JZ 3.0L motor spinning the turbo.

sweet. I've been looking around at alot of different rims with good weight and sizes but not much is comming up. I wanted to try to fit 10" wide rims in the rear but couldnt find many that werent in 17" which I think is getting into stunna territory. HRE sells some that are 16x10 and I think Weld makes some nice 15x9s in the aluma-star 2.0 and magnum.

As for the turbo, you said it was a T4 and and a GT series with a .96 A/R on the hotside. Any more info on it . . . GT42? GT3071? I dont think I've ever heard of anything from Garrett, Precision, or Innovative with 81mm wheel and .96 A/R . . . thanks

Are you looking for drag wheels or road wheels? Weld has nothing that will fit. The back spacing just isnt deep enough. I am getting really anxious to get the wheels from Bogart.....

I was actually trying to be funny with the pic of the turbo. That is the turbo on our shop race Supra. Its a large frame (we call it T6 flange) and its not dual BB. Just to give you a reference, that intake tube is 6" mandrel bent (yes SIX inches) and the DP is 5" for the first 18" and then necks down to 4" out the back thru a Borla XR1. I will probably start out with a GT40 and figure out where to go from there. The GT40 isnt availble yet in the R version but by the time I need to bolt it up, it will be availble.

5Zigen FN01R weighs 15.1 lbs. in a 17x9.5 ... 17" ET Streets are made now, along with the DR's.

BTW, I run the following:

17x9 - 255/40/17 17x10 - 275/40/17

Fenders are rolled and pulled.

I'm looking for rims that can be primarily used for drag racing but also on the streets if need be.

You dont know how long I've been waiting for a GT40R, but last I heard Precision and Garrett wasnt comming out with the ballbearing version. I know the Gt42R is way too big, and the GT35R is cutting it too close to being maxed out. Who did you hear was releasing that? GT4073?

I just ordered a set of CCW wheels 16x9 or 10 on rear with 16x4ish front with MT ET Street 26-10.5-16 rears and some sort of front runner for one of our Supra customers. The total price for this package was $2750 and $160 in shipping and included wheels, tires, mounting, ballancing, lugnuts, and center caps. These wheels are designed for drag racing and are still beefy enough to run every day on the street. The drawback is that the wheels are fairly heavy and arent exactly great looking.

I wanted a better looking wheel and lighter weight. I was going to order the Bogart Fly Star but still wanted to run the car on the street. Rick at Bogart suggested the P1 Billet as this would handle street use better although he still didnt recomend that I use them for street driving.

Tommy, not a problem. I am glad that I had the Cometic gasket in stock.

Duy, good luck, I hope it helps. Its nice that there are more KA-T owners pushing the envelope. I am impressed with the numbers so far so hit it hard and make us proud.

Let me know when you hear about the release of the GT40R. I've got friiends that are Precision distributors that also work closely with people from Garrett and none of them have mentioned anything about a 40R comming out .

I have 18x10 +40 with a 10mm spacer... The 10mm spacer lets me run my camber and keeps it off my rear shock...

EDIT: 10mm spacer not 5mm

I have my Greddy Ti exhaust here in my living room next to my fuel cell. I have been waiting for both to arrive so I can figure out how the rear mount for the fuel cell which will also double as the parachute mount will fit with the factory exhaust hangers at the back of the car. I am going to the cage shop tomorrow right after work to get both fitted up. Hopefully we will also finish the front portion of the cage minus the side bars. If everything goes well, I should have the car back to the shop by this next weekend to start getting the car prepped for paint.

I found this pic, so I guess they can somehow fit. I'll have my friend ask the Autologic guys later about the specs on them

Car sounds like it's gonna be great, Ivan. I can't wait to see the finished product. BTW, you know you're a car guy when you've got an exhaust AND a fuel cell in your living room.

Actually, the wheels/tires stick out about 1 inch too far. If you look closely at that pic. the fenders were rolled/flared as much as possible. They are actually ordering rear overfenders from JUN.

It sure does look like the tires do stick out quite a bit. Weld has offsets that are designed for RWD applications. I know the 240 is RWD but the offsets on the wheels are FWD.
