Yes, its been a while. My car has been at the body shop for over a month now. They have been working on it but the deal I have is an exchange of services (I built two 2JZ motors for them) so they are concentrating on the "paying" customers. Here is what the car looks like as of early last week. As of right now, both doors have been removed and the jams on them have been painted and cleared along with the underside of the trunk. I believe that tomorrow they plan on getting all the paint done on the car that isnt seen when the doors and trunk are shut (door jam area, trunk gutter area) and hopefully by friday the rest of the car will be painted.

The motor is still at the machine shop. Block is O-ringed, converted to 11mm studs, bored and honed with deck plate for the Arias pistons. FRH has been taking their sweet *** time porting my head but I think they are making progress. I just got my fully race built Nissan OD AT from TSI on Friday. As soon as I get my car back from the body shop, I will start mocking up the trans to get the torque convertor sorted out. My direct port NOS system is at the shop waiting to go on. My turbo is at the shop waiting to be positioned in the car so I can build the full T4 header. Everything for the fuel system is at the shop with the exception of the fuel pump (BG King Sumo) which is on back order. The only real progress I am making is on the racing intake manifold. Everything but the plenum is done. I have the liquid IC cores waiting to be positioned so I can build the end tanks and start on IC piping. HKS Hyper II Drag suspension is installed on the car along with adjustable tension rods, rear upper arms, traction rods.

Basically I am on hold till the body shop gets the car finished.

I got the P1 Billet Drag Stars which were slightly more expensive then the Fly Star.

Normal selling price for the P1 Billets would be $249each for the 15x3.5 fronts and $379 each for the 15x9 rears. The Fly Stars would run $170 each for the fronts and $269 each for the rears.

We are a Bogart dealer so I got them for a bit less.

"A bit" eh? Is that what they call them nowadays? Anyway, nice stuff. You should have got them to do your work before you did theirs. That would have got them a bit faster.

PS. Since your on here Ivan, I just wanted to ask you what kind of bulbs the s15 lamps take for high and low. Quick question, not trying to thread jack . <--- tongue needs to stick out more.

I have been keeping up with the rules for T4 but just dlded the new 05 book. Still nothing for me to worry about. If anything, its getting better for me. I like that a motor swap = power adder. I wonder how that will affect the Hondas. Will a Dart block constitute a motor swap? Putting a 1.8L in place of a 1.6L is that a motor swap? I wonder how they are going to interperate the rules. They dont address the tires for RWD cars..... only FWD and AWD are mentioned. I plan on running MT ET Drags but could switch to ET Street Radial if I need to. I want to try them out anyway.

Have you been keeping up? The first race is in Mar not April.

I didnt think Dart blocks were ever legal in Power Street, Turbo 4, or even Hot Rod.

Prices arent bad, I'll have to give you a ring-a-lang

Details on the transmission setup? I assume you went with a transbrake setup. That'd be best for consistent reaction times and good 60 foots, plus it'll let you spool the turbo up on the line without creeping.

Are you going to use a Dupree flexplate? Will the Z32 flexplate work with the 240?

Isn't TSI just down the road from Level Ten in Jersey or New York. Maybe that's IPT. Do you know their URL? I can't find it any more.

Trans brakes arent legal in T4 NDRA. The trans I am going to keep under wraps untill its up and running. There will be some craftsmanship to this transmission. The Z32 flex plat will not work. 8 bolts versus 6 bolts and the pilot hole is much larger in the Z32. This TSI is in my neck of the woods. There is another TSI tho. Don, my trans builder, does all the transmissions for us at Sound Performance. Everything from MKIII Supra ATs to our SP400 (bolt in TH400) for the MKIV Supra. He also does all of our domestic transmissions.

Right from NDRA 05 Rule book: "Factory available OEM manual gearbox / with an H-Pattern shifter or factory automatic transmission. Modifications limited to what fits completely within stock transmission and bell housing. Automatic transmissions allowed. Scatter-shield required if 11.99 or quicker. See section 4.15 for additional details. No aftermarket Transmissions of any kind allowed. Absolutely noTrans-Brakes allowed."

Actually it was 11.71

The tires were 24.5-8-15 MT ET Drag tires on Konig Network 15x7" wheels. I was running 15 psi in the tires and a small burnout.

I am STILL waiting for my car to come out of the body shop. I have a pile of parts here waiting to go on and a lot of fabrication to finish on the car. I do have a bunch of pix from the body shop but I wanted to kind of wait till the car was all together and "unveil" it all at once. I have been to see the progress in person and have to say the car is going to be gorgeous (IMHO) Things are wrapping up at the body shop, so I would say the wait wont be too much longer.

Thanks for asking.

I wanted to keep anything in the drivetrain from breaking. I was slightly slipping the clutch out of the hole to keep from shocking the driveline. I managed a 1.70 60ft. My main concern was being able to get to WOT as soon as possible and that was the reason for the slicks. With the street tires, I had to half throttle and short shift to second and then stay half throttle for most of second gear. 12.7 isnt shabby for a street tire but I knew there was a much better ET with nearly 120mph trap speeds. Just being able to go WOT in first once the clutch was all the way out and all thru second gear dropped a full second off the ET and I went 11.71 @ 118.54. I was happy with the 60fts and the times and this was a customers car (they were there cheering me on) so I left the tire pressure where it was. I am sure there was a much better 60ft in the car but handing the keys back to my customers knowing that they could drive the car home was most important.

My car is still pimping the stock 227k mile motor. My short block is built but I am still waiting for my head from the porting shop. My trans is fully built and waiting to go in the car once I get a torque convertor made. I still need to build a turbo manifold for the full T4 turbo I am running. There is some sheetmetal work to be done in the trunk area. All my fuel system components are at the shop waiting to be installed. basically I have been really busy and havent had much time to work on my own car. How about some people come down to the shop and help me after hours for a weekend or two
