85hp is pretty good for only 1.2 liters. Not as good a ratio as the Honda fit, but were talking about an American brand here...

I think it looks cool for what it is.

There will be a larger-displacement engine, or a turbo option, for the United States.

Yay 4 Captain Slow reference.

Really PMQ? You're too stupid to realize the weight difference?

Looks better than the previous ones, my wife had '07 Aveo sedan when we got married. It was junk but it came with a 100k warranty which got well used before 12k miles. When we traded it in, the dealer had already had to put a oil pump, a new cylinder head, new camshaft, new engine, new oil pump, new transmission. In that order too.

Not really.

Modern bikes: 50 - 120 hp, 300-700 lbs (rough guesses).

It's not "all relative". The power-to-weight ratios of cars ocupy a much broader spectrum.

I'd venture to say that some cars are so underpowered, they're unsafe.

With that said, it's a handsome car.

The concept had a turbo. I like how it looks, and would like to support it but someone said it was built by Daewoo... so no thanks.

As for fuel economy, the website says it gets better highway MPG than Fit, Versa & Scion. Looks to be less expensive (except the xD) with a better warranty, too. Good news for people wanting a new budget car IMHO.

I guess I'm going at this the wrong way.

what happens if/when the pumps start running dry?

everything I see you guys talk about is using resources in excess...

how much is enough? it seems that there is never a thought on fuel availability with you guys. it's all about having a bigger e-penor!

Or, maybe, it's about the thrill of the drive. I'm not going to repost what I posted in the other thread to your identical post there. Just go read it.

Shut up, Granny.

Live through a few fuel crises and then lecture us.

We've got gas. :naughty:

The problem is that when the resource is abundant we become complacent. This causes alternative fuel research to slow down drastically.

I really hope things don't change from the way they are, in terms of fuel supply, but if they do, it's going to be much worse then the 80s as urban sprawl is at an all time high, and rising.
