Hey everyone.

So, I'm on the lookout for a set of wheels/rims for the M for Spring 2011 (thought I was going to get one set but now I'm not so sure). I'd like to get a thread going where members (new and old) can view M's with different setups to get an idea, etc.

Please use this format:

Car Model: M35, M35x, M45, etc.?
Wheel Brand/Dimensions:
Tire Brand/Dimensions:
Suspension: Stock? After market? Coilovers? Please list specs.
Other Information: Did you have to buy things to adjust camber, roll fender lips, spacers, etc.

GO!

Don't forget it's important to know rim width and offsets.

Yes, for the two of you that posted...please update your wheel specs and also your drop specs. Not all new members will know that a certain spring is say 1.6" drop, etc.

Moon Man, your car is pure sex. Too bad the Konvex SS only come in 22".

Can you put staggered wheels on an AWD car?

Post

Hi all, new guy here, was looking throught the threads and thought that this would be the most appropriate for my question.

I own a 2003 G35 coupe and am thinking of upgrading to a 2011 M37x.

The only issue that is keeping me from purchasing right now are the tire and wheels that are offered. I don't like the base selection (the tire and the 18" rims) or the 18" accesory rims that are optional. I really like the 20" rims in the sport package but those are not available for the AWD (which is a must for me).

So, if I purchase this car, I must definitely need to buy new tire/wheels. my questions are:
- What are the concerns when doing this?
- Is it recommended to upgrade to 20" wheels/tires?

Any and all recommendations/opinions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

You really have a wide selection to pick from as long as you pick the correct offset and sizes.

I'll be lowering my M 1.25" (Espelir Springs) and putting 20" MRR GT-1's (20x10 with a +25 offset) and running 255/35/20 tires on all four corners. From my research, this will fit just fine and will not rub or anything of the sort.

I have 2007 M35x.

You will have to google what the offsets are for the particular M/package you are getting. On the 06-07 (maybe 08-09) the offsets are as follows:

Sport : 19 x 8.5 +50mm
Non-Sport: 18 x 8 +47mm
Spare : 17 x 4T +30mm

^ definitely wana see pics of your car when you get those bad boys on. I have been thinking of tryn to run a 10" in the front and 11 or 12" in the rear just to go crazy wide but I didnt think a 10" wide could be done without fender mods or stretched a** tires. Make sure you test fit the rims before you mount the tires cuz then you cant get a refund if for some reason they dont work. I would think a higher offset in the front would work but a +25 IDK????? GL and post up when your done.

Yeah, I'm no wheel expert but I think such a high offset could be an issue...especially given how wide the rim is going to be already..

I'm not slamming the car, so technically a +25 would stick out a little bit. So it shouldn't be that bad. If I was slamming, then yes, it would rub on the fender, etc. I spoke to many local guys who are wheel whores and they said it should look good.

There is no way to tell what the offset of those are. That might have been a custom job specific to that application.

Car looks like it is sitting at factory height with huge wheels filling in the gap. Wheels are so big it makes the M look like the size of an Altima.... To each his on.

Yeah, I'm doing 20's not 24's lol. Anything over 20 (21" FX50 wheels being the exception) is just silly.

Hey, I see you're running 10.5" rims in the back with a +45 offset. Do you have spacers? My rims that I want don't have a much bigger lip, so maybe I should be getting +38 or so and not +25. It really depends on the wheel, but just wondering.

No spacers. I went with a setup that would clear the G37S brakes on the M. Spacers would have been required if I continued to use the 19 OEM's.

It was at the Balboa Pier before 8am ... and before the last meet-up that 5literbeater helped organize.

Sunlit Sand (beige/gold). Cleaned that thing and 2 weeks later it still looked clean.
