Yeah, I agree with ya. Looks nice with larger rims. The pshop makes Japino look like a Cima. I'm still searching for the chrome wind deflectors.

Really? A Cima?

The car looks great in black. Very nice.

I've seen the chrome wind deflectors and chrome mirror nacelles on Rinkya. I need to make friends with a Japanese citizen or frequent traveler. I really think they'd go well with the rest of the chrome on the stock Q.

For the naysayers, it look quite nice on the President.

The transmission was still catching 2nd with a vengeance, but had become a bit slow catching 3rd--not really slipping, but slow. I'm sure another flush would have made it much better. I'm sure it will end up on some buy here/pay here lot, and there is no telling how much longer it will go. I added a transmission cooler at 90k, and flushed it every spring with Mobil 1 ATF. I kept expecting it to go out, because everyone seemed to be replacing them at 100-150k. I'm not sure why, but mine held together, but you can only test fate so long...

I've got some parts that I'll be putting in the Infiniti parts forum later...a good used head unit, some new in-box parts: fuel pump, transmission gasket/filter, well-used FSM and some other odds and ends. I also have 3 wheels off of a 2003 M45 that I intended to use when I replaced the tires, but never got around to it. They are practically brand new (I believe they were takeoffs of a new M45).

Bottom line is that I am really going to miss my Q...I can't imagine I'll ever have another car that can take daily redlines with such longevity.

My Q's last surprised victim was a grey Grand Prix...they shut it down at 120 when 3 car lengths behind. It was nice to go out with a decisive victory.

Awesome transmission life! How often did you replace the internal pan filter? Ever replace the external filter behind the radiator?

I have 213K on my original transmission, still operating like new-trying to extend its life, as at this point I cant see spending 3k on a nissan rebuilt- when transmission starts to go, I will trade for a new car also

I removed the external filter when I installed the cooler (when I bought the car). Also rerouted lines directly from transmission, through cooler, back to transmission (bypassed radiator heater/cooler/whatever is is). Flushed it every spring, replaced the internal filter about every 3rd year (avg'd at about 50k increments).

Alpine monitors, headliner and motorized in dash.... Head unit to come soon

18" Helo Poisons

I lucked up on this for $200, right before I went out to basic training & AIT about 6 months ago.. Cheap beacause it had been ran into a ditch, done some minor suspension damge but enough to have a roll back bring it home with me. ..sat it on some jack stands, and assessed the damaged. Luckily the frame is fine, but one strut was shot along with the right front & rear control arms. ...It was almost impossible to find the parts at the salvage yards, but I eventually did. ..Pieced it back together, and finally have it rolling.

I've seen some nice Q's on here. ..I noticed some guys have their rides lowered. What are the common types of suspension setup you all prefer/use?

I'm also curious if it's at all possible to run a jaguar rear end on these, if you all have ever heard of it? ..The guy i bought my Q off of said he had put one in it, so.. i'm not to sure about that, kinda figured he was BS-ing me.

DJ2 is the color code for that Hunter Green? Makes it sound cooler.

Jaguar rear-ends are popular with rodders and show guys. The easiest way to tell is to look underneath and see if the brakes rotors are in close to the differential rather than right behind the wheels. Unless he put in a newer Jag rear, which would be a pointless waste of time. Probably was just trying to make it sound cool, but sometimes old hot-rodder guys, if he was one, do strange things when they have spare parts and odd cars laying around... The coolest thing I got to see was a crazy dude with a Ford 289 powered early 90's Volvo 2 door sedan. Took a while to find where the noise was coming from since the initial denial took about five minutes to subside. If he did put the tradition show-car style jag rear end in it you'd know, and it sure would look pretty...

Hmm... The M998 (HMMWV) has the same setup. I never knew jags are the same.

But yeah, he was deff' BS-ing me though.. Thanks for the reply!

Thanks!

Picked it up about a month ago after my truck (4.3L/5spd 95 Sonoma) getting owned by an old man. His insurance company gave me $3k for the truck and I found this car on craigslist for $2500, doesn't seem like a bad deal to me, all it needs are a few small things, and well, knock sensors. Fixing to do the knock sensors next weekend though.

Nice. Those wheeels are simple, but really elegant. Not too flashy, but they don't look cheap either. Great job. Any difference in the ride?

Does anyone want a pair done I can powder almost any color, and I can also do hi-temp for exhaust manifolds. The cost is $125 for the pair + $80 core charge which will be refunded after I get your old valve covers + whatever shipping is. Or if you want to keep your valve covers then just add on the $80 to the price. Usually it takes one week to get them done and back. All stripping is done with chemicals not glass or sand so no worries about your engine getting ruined after an install.

I just liked the color gold and thought it would offset the pearl white or my Q. I plan to make some clear cam covers for the earlier vh valve covers just because I think it would be cool to see the cam when the car isn't running lol. Also I will take parts on trade since I have so many projuects parts are quite usefull.

They ride a whole lot better than the 19's with a 35 sidewall.
