OMFG. That's the kit I want. Where did you get it? I'm not too crazy about your tail lights, but the President logo is sick.

How much did the kit run and did you do it yourself?

They don't make the kit for kouki's I had this one customized. The rear end is a genuine president rear end.

Buy a zenki kit and have the front bumper customized to fit. I had the oem bumper chopped up and molded into the Aftermarket bumper.

PIA but I have kit for a kouki now. I even check some Japan sites and they didn't have anything i liked.

Yo. I just saw your friend KidZik on another forum. He's the one that did your front bumper?

How much for a kit like yours? I can't seem to find a place to find a zenki kit via Google. In fact, your friend came up with pics of your car.

I have posted pics on VSC, but i just posted some more updated pics.Car is going under the knife again since that bumper incident i poste don VSC.

Hatian. I bought the ED kit V-Line it's basically a Insurance High Grade Replica (****ty of course) for the zenki. I figured why spend the money for the Insurance kit when I am just going to hack it up anyway. The only difference would be the rest of the kit would have fit perfectly. BUt since it is difficult to find kits for kouki G50 (even friends in Japan were shocked I had a kit for my car) I decided to get what was easiest and cheapest. If you know a good glass worker (Fiberglass) and willing to pay the money Order the JP Aero kit. It costs more but I am sure the fitment will be alot better.

I know I bought from ED But like I said the g50 kouki seems to be the most overlooked VIP Platform probably why you don't see so many in VIP mags.

is that the kit you bought? It says for Lexus.

1220 isn't too bad as opposed to the Junction Produce or JP Aero kits that are like 5000.

So it was only the front that didn't fit right in the v-line kit? The sides and back went on without a hitch right?

Question.

What's kouki? A google search showed me a bunch of s14's.

Secondly, the V-line kit I saw, doesn't include a spoiler. Where'd you get yours?

All in all, what did this set you back?

Kouki means later period

90-93 is a zenki beginning period94-96 is a kouki later period.

There is also chuki but since the G50 had no middle design it gets skipped.

The rest of the kit fits as far as body design. But it was still a failure as a kit i had to do so much sanding an hacking to get it to fit. Which is why I would stay away from ED and spend the extra dough for the JP Aero kit.

The wing I had my wife buy it in Japan and she sent it to me. Of course it fits like a charm. ( Japanese Aero)

All in all about 2500 including kidziks labor.

2500 covered paint and install? Plus the kit?

A JP Aero kit is slightly out of my current price range. Same for Junction Produce. I just read an article in ImportTuner about VIP style and some of the featured cars were like two towns over. I'd love to get to one of the execs for Junction Produce and see if I can have them help me turn my car into a feature car. I don't know if they have a G50 feature car out here. I saw a 98 GS300, a 2004 M45, and a 98 Y33.

Is there a website for the wing you got? I guess it's a little late in the year to start the job, but I'd like to have it done by the beginning of summer. I think I'll buy the parts separately and by the time summer rolls around, they'll be ready to put on.

I do alot of my own work but that didn't include paint. Install was done by me and Kidzik.

The g50 is one of those stepchild cars it seems. When people think VIP they don't think G50 it's Y33, UCFX, and The Aristos they seem to be the most sought after cars which is why I wanted to do a G50. I just didn't realize the lack of aero support for this vehicle.....

I bought my wing from a guy off yahoo auctions but since my wife is Japanese, I just tell her which I want and she buys it for me.

If you can wait it out a few months and work on the wheels and suspension and interior. Maybe som emore kits will start popping up for our cars.

Hmm. Good idea. I guess I should wait to get the kits. I know WALD made a g50 kit, but it's discontinued. They only have Y33 and F50 kits now. But they make an aero kit for a ****ing Dodge minivan. WTF?

I read about this "air-bag" suspension that's popular in the VIP rides. What is it and how much does it cost?

I'm having a d!ck of a time finding suitable deep-dish wheels.

Hey... I'm new to the Infiniti forums (yes, Infiniti, not Nissan.. LoL, I'm in denial, leave me alone.)

Anyways, I bought a 1991 Q45 about a week ago. No pictures yet...Basically, I'm turning it into a cheapo performance ride. I bought it from a guy that got it from the police auctions, picked it up for $750 and it's in pretty good shape. The interior was trashed, so I took it all out. Plus someone had stolen it, so it's completely gutted. >:-)

No dash, no seats, no carpet, no A/C or heater... It's basically 2 front seats, a cross bar with all the gauges, a steering wheel and a couple pedals. E-fan should be here Tuesday, too. These things are monsters, I came from a 1986.5 NA Supra and thought it was pretty damn quick, this Q45 would break its heart.

It's got a few problems. The ECU is telling me the O2 sensor(s) need replaced, an injector issue and the EGR. Also getting the stop light inoperative message, but that should be easily fixed with a new bulb socket on the inside passenger light. I've given it a cheapo tuneup, Mobil 1 full synthetic oil change with K&N filter and 8 cylinder Restore, new platinum plugs, Lucas fuel treatment and new belts. Once payday comes back around, I'll give it what it's asking for. (not really looking forward to that O2 sensor, though... Those things are in the worst spot ever.

This thing needs a little love, apparently the previous owners cheaped out and got their cousin's friend's boyfriend to do their tuneups. A few plugs weren't even finger tight, the oil was burnt and belts were all but ready to snap.

The only issue I'm not too sure about how to fix is the gas tank wreaks, whenever I fill it up, I can smell the gas... It goes away as it empties, I'll check all the lines and make sure everything's tightened down and if that doesn't help I'll most likely come crying to you guys. ;-)

Anyways, yeah, this should be fun. Gonna get under the hood tomorrow and pull out the A/C condenser and finish emptying the interior, put this thing on a diet and see how much weight I can drop from it... I love the sound deadening, in most cars that stuff is a pain to get out, it just peels right up (aside from the nasty tar crap it leaves behind). I'm aiming for about 300-375HP and (crossing finger) 3,400Lbs . It's a quick, big bastard as it is... Hits 60 in about the time listed for stock, it's running rich as hell, though. A little more work and it should be all squared away.

Sorry about the book.-Chris

Welcome to NICO. With all the info on this site you'll have your Q running top notch in no time.

If you're getting the leaky injector code (45 or 51?) replacing the O2 sensors will clear that code. You can also remove the EGR valve and degunk it with brake parts cleaner. Check to make sure the large metal tube connected to it is clear and the path into the plenum is not plugged.

Fuel smell on fill up- Check the fuel pump bolts (loose, missing?) and o-ring (properly seated, swelled?) on top of the gas tank. Easiest access is by removing the rear (speaker) deck.

Check the ohms resistance of your fuel injectors and knock sensors. Instructions are in the tech help section at Q45.org. It will take about 5 minutes with a voltmeter and will tell you much about the health of your engine. Good luck.

Thanks! :-)My roommate suggested that the injector code would clear after the O2 sensor was replaced. Gotta get a crow's foot wrench to get it out, so a few more days until payday and I'll get that done. I'm outside working on the car right now, so I'll check the fuel pump like you suggestd. Thanks again.

Nice sig, btw. I'm originally from Northern Cal, now in Ventura County, near L.A.... Haven't seen a Redwood in years.

Got a lot done today, finished getting all the interior out and everything cleaned up.. I think I got the fuel smell gone, it doesn't smell at all now, the gasket had been put in wrong when someone changed the fuel pump. Pulled the A/C condenser and all its piping, got the front bumper support out for some extra weight, that long curvy tube off the airbox is gone with some extra holes cut for more air, also cut a hole underneath the box on the metal itself for some extra flow. Door panels, rear window panel all are off, the thing sits really high now, LoL.

Checked the EGR valve, it seems bad, pushed the top up and it snapped right back down instead of closing slowly, so I will replace that along with the O2 sensors. Also still need to replace the rear brake light socket to kill the inoperative message. It runs like a champ so far, and sounds mean as hell with the airbox setup the way it is. I hope once it gets the new O2 sensors and EGR valve it will be running perfectly and maybe some bonus gas mileage. Thanks for the replies. :-)

Damicci,

Are you the one that had the pearl Q at NOPI last year? If so, is this the same Q modified or a new one?

I guess I should add my new Q to the owners thread as well. Got it super cheap as the previous owner blew it up with a NOS explosion. I have quite a bit of work to do to get it running again but she'll be sweet when I do. Looks almost exactly like my other Q, same color and year, the new one is an "A" model.

Damn, these things are gnarly. Sounds like it's pissed off, I think the engine is pretty much tuned up aside from the O2 sensors... Coming soon, and that should clean it up even more.

Got the e-fan put on there yesterday, lowered it today... Just cut 2 coils off, handles MUCH better and looks clean. Found one dead shock, so that goes on the list, too. Got the A/C unit off the engine, along with it's pulley. I'll get pics up tomorrow, but so far it's going swimmingly. (word of the day)

Left to do: O2 sensor, 3 wheel studs to replace, 1 shock to replace.

Looks like your other one. Twin Q's, awesome.

You going to fix it up or part it out?

Original intent was to part it out but after getting it realized it was in too nice of shape. It will be restored. Hopefully it won't need much. If the valves got bend when it exploded that will be another story. Not sure when I'll be able to dive into this project.

louiegz wrote:I never noticed this thread the first time around, so I guess I'll check in now. Better late than never. Well, I have a 95. My father bought it new a day before his birthday on Dec 16 1994. He hardly drove it and he passed away in 1998. When I took over the Q, it had about 27000 miles on it. My Q is about as stock as can be. The only things that are not stock are the Tokico Blues, Rear Sway Bar, Front Strut Bar and 16in Chrome Rims from a Y33 with 255/50/16 Falken Tires. I also have a NICO sticker on the rear window which we all know it's good for and extra 10-15 hp's. Right now it's riding on the stock turbines with Blizack winter tires. Can't wait til the Spring. The Odo says about 75000 miles on it, but it's more like 84000 because I have the same problem that nuQ has with the odo working. There's my car in the sig. I have to take some better pics one day.

I just bought this car from Lou, so I'm checking in. My 240SX is out of the country having major rehabilitative surgery and my son wrecked my wife's Lexus, so I needed a daily driver. I like it a lot, and I may keep it after I get my car back, but we'll see. For now, I'm just going to do basic maintenance, tint the windows, detail it, and see about getting a CD player.

Ditch the K&N for OEM cold air intake and filter. BG44K is the only effective FI cleaner in a can.

Welp, Another Kansas Citian here...

I rescued a 92 G50 in rather sad shape... It seems to run decently (in spite of needing 2 injectors, never seen an injector with a resistance of 800 ohms lol)...

Anyway, I'll try to get some pics, I think this is the ONLY Q45 i've seen with so much clear coat peeling...
