Good topic
I just turned 35 last month. I have received 2 tickets within the last year. But we're a military family, so we move around alot. I wasn't aware of the Wichita Falls Motorcycle Nazi's. They hide in the bushes, in the median, about 25-75 yards beyond the "reduced speed limit" signs. Before that I hadn't received a citation since I was 18 back in 1993. This comes with a decent story.
I got stationed at Hurlburt Fld in Fort Walton Beach, FL. One of the best bases and places to live in the country IMHO. White beaches, great weather and the water is piss warm. Oh yeah...hot chicks for miles and my job entailed lots of low level flying on helicopters up and down the coast.
Life was good for me So I went out and bought my first "new to me" car from a dealer.
That dude assisted in me getting 3 tickets within the first 4 months of ownership. The last one was coming back from a UFC fight, had been drinking, underage and speeding. As I'm driving over the 3 mile bridge from Pcola to...well the other side don't remember the name...this car comes speeding up beside me. So we proceed to race the last 1/2 of the bridge. I won...but I beat an unmarked cruiser. Doom on WD.
He pulls us over, questions us. Did I tell you I was driving with a car load of fellow 1 stripers? Yeah...all under age...all drinking, beer IN the car etc. Typical stupid airman move. But we're in Spec Ops...don't go down without at least TRYING to talk your way out Turns out the cop has a brother that's a SEAL. He knows how much BS his brother gets away with...way worse then what we were doing. So he let us pour out all the beer, lock a bottle of John Daniels in my trunk compartment, and drive home with the max ticket I could receive without going to jail. Was like $285...which to me might as well have been a million.
So I didn't pay it. Got a suspension. Drove anyway Paid it when I could and lived happily ever after.
No I don't condone drinking and diving.
