Anyone have one of these with sound clips? Especially looking for one on a V8.

Even if anyone can find one at a dealer and record it.

Here's one on the V6...would like to hear it on the V8 also. But I don't really see a point in it since you're not really removing the restriction of the pipes before it...unless the user is just looking for sound enhancement and not performance gains.

Just ordered it this morning at Modern Infiniti. Should get it next week. Comes with new gaskets. Should be a direct replacement. I'm running post cats and resonator deletes, so it should sound awesome. I will record before and after vids.

Do some cruising/inside/outside videos too! Full gambit bro!

EDIT: I see you have a custom exhaust...so yours might sound different than ours that is stock but with these mufflers. What else is done on yours?

Yeah, if I got it, I may delete the resonators as well.

Or I'll save up for Stillen, but would love some other full cat-back option to come around.

You get it any cheaper than the $700?

Would love to meet up sometime just to hear it after installed.

there's a used one on ebay that came off a demo car. Not a big discount like $100 or so.

Most exhausts don't net any real performance gains anyway, plus this car is around 4000 lbs, its not likely it will make that big a difference unless you really open it up like the exhaust Majestic is selling.

I do like this exhaust though, should be factory quality with a nice custom look and sound to it. Best of both worlds

Just the exhaust mods. I also drilled a bunch of 3/4" holes in the front and sides of the air filter boxes to help draw in fresh air.

Nope...$691 + tax = $737.64. I printed the page with the info on it and drove to the dealership to order it.

Ok, so they arrived last Monday, in a Q70 box. (same part number for both Q70 and M56) Looks nicely polished, similar to the Stillen axle back style, wrapped in plastic, and included the 4 replacement bolts, incorrectly listed as 14mm, really 10mm. The parts guys threw in a set of replacement gaskets, even though they are not included, as the instructions call for reusing the old ones. I also acquired a replacement precat back X pipe exhaust that I am in the process of cleaning up and painting with the VHT exhaust primer and paint...so when I finish that project, I will be ready to swap everything out.

Nice looking mid-pipes , where did you pick them up from. Looks very similar to the 2.5" pipes I have on my car.

I bought them on Ebay from another forum member. According to his auction, they were fabricated by Mandrel Bending Solutions in Pasadena, MD. They were made for the RWD, and my car is AWD. When I went to install it, I ran into a slight fitment issue, The bends are jammed up against the plate that is part of the AWD transfer case, so the pipes are running a couple of inches lower than it needs to be, which of course transfers the vibration to inside the car. Basically, the lengths from the cats needed to be about 6" longer for the bends to clear this plate. Other than that, everything hooked up great. I have ordered a pair of flex connections which will take care of the clearance issue, and I will remove the same amount from the pair of pipes running to the mufflers. The new sport mufflers sound really awesome, especially with this exhaust. I will warn anyone with post cats and resonators delete that it is loud....really great loud though, pure muscle...may not be for everyone.

Meanwhile, I have my old OEM 2" chop and weld exhaust that is free to whoever wants to come and get it. (Winston-Salem, NC area) I had to cut the ends of the hangers off in order to get the rubber bushing off. Direct bolt on post cat/resonator delete piping to stock mufflers. The ends are OEM flanges.
Image

One question: Why does the driver's side OEM flange have this inside?

Once I get the flex connectors installed, I will do some videos. I will also be at Modern Infiniti in Winston-Salem to let the guys there hear how it sounds.

Mine has the OEM mufflers on it. Its not too loud with the cut-outs closed but with the cutouts open.... I am running a custom 2.5" mid pipe X, deleted resonators and secondary cats it is beastly.

Yep I was running the OEM mufflers with the 2" pipe. The sport mufflers will be more beastly if you decide to go that route.

Yep I will do a few different ones once I get the flex fittings installed. Cold and warm start, inside and outside, etc.

I just bought a 2011 M56S blk/blk so I will be looking to do an exhaust upgrade soon. Just working on getting it transported to NC.

I just had my oem sport exhaust come in and installed. I love it. Not tinny but a nice deep growl to it. It sounds fantastic. It sounds awesome at startup and just idling. My wife doesn't seem bothered by it either so thats a good thing.

Ok, finally got my 2-1/2" flex connectors and Torctite lap band clamps in, so I cut some pipe and went to work:
Image

By adding these connectors in, I was able to shift the front bends back off of the AWD transfer case and into the correct position. I also had to remove the same amount of pipe after the X pipe in order for the mufflers to still line up:
Image

Now everything lines up like it's supposed to; only minor issue is that the dual pipes run a little lower through the tunnel (possibly due to the AWD set up), so I can't install the cross piece without it touching the pipes, unless I shim it with a few washers or some kind of spacers. I just left it off. The torctite clamps allowed me to do the modification myself, they are leak-proof, and they allow me to disassemble the exhaust if I need to. I can have the joints welded up later if I choose, but for now, I will keep the clamps.

Anyway, final look from the back end. Muffler tips centered up perfectly in the rear cutouts, the mufflers themselves are slightly canted upwards to the inside; since the tips are adjustable, I rolled them slightly in the opposite direction to line the slant back even:
Image

Wow the difference inside the cabin is night and day with the flex connectors installed. No drone or vibration, just a subtle deep rumble when cruising and louder rumble when you hit the gas. It's definitely more muscle sounding and it turns some heads when I crank it up leaving work or running errands. I've tried a few cell phone videos but I can't seem to capture the sound. My Note 3 picks up too much ambient noise that interferes with the exhaust sound. I have a GoPro Hero 3 ordered so I will try that when it comes in. Now I am ready for the Uprev tune.

Cool. Our bedroom is right above the garage. I leave for work around 5:45 am, while she is just hitting the snooze on her alarm clock. She says that it's louder than what I had, and that it rumbles the windows a little but she is ok with it.

Very well done brat, looking forward to that sound clip. Smell it at all with the cats off? When I had the Invidia Pipes on I did but it wasn't too bad to me. Not necessarily ideal for a 'luxury' car but so what lol.

Looks good.

Tip on the GoPro (I'm an avid GoPro'er)...get a $3 GoPro mic from Amazon. It'll do WONDERS for sound capture. The built in GoPro sound is a bit tiny.

Get something like this for the mic: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0028 ... UTF8&psc=1

You'll need this adapter to make it work: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A3 ... UTF8&psc=1

Or you can forgo the adapter and mic above and get something like this but I haven't tested it: https://www.amazon.com/Microphone-Adapt ... =gopro+mic

======

Looking forward to some nice videos to help me decide between Stillen and OEM once and for all...although I still need to get BC's and stuff first lol...damn life getting in the way.

Thanks, glad it's all done...weather was in the upper 90's all last week when I did it. Even in the garage it was like being in an oven. Yeah there is a slight smell but no worries. I'm the only one who drives it back and forth to work during the week, and my wife rides in it only on the weekends so I'm not too worried about it. Of course the shiny new tips get a film of soot, so I wipe them down every day when I am done driving.
