Tip on the GoPro (I'm an avid GoPro'er)...get a $3 GoPro mic from Amazon. It'll do WONDERS for sound capture. The built in GoPro sound is a bit tiny.

Get something like this for the mic: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0028 ... UTF8&psc=1

You'll need this adapter to make it work: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A3 ... UTF8&psc=1

Or you can forgo the adapter and mic above and get something like this but I haven't tested it: https://www.amazon.com/Microphone-Adapt ... =gopro+mic

======

Looking forward to some nice videos to help me decide between Stillen and OEM once and for all...although I still need to get BC's and stuff first lol...damn life getting in the way.
Thanks, and thanks again for the GoPro advice. I've never had one, so I've been doing a little research. I believe I like the bigger external mic that plugs directly into the camera, but I will look at all options. I also need to get some kind of accessory kit that has a variety of mounts, etc. Any particular Micro SD card that works best with GoPro? I'm thinking the Sandisk Ultra XC-1 64GB.

I definitely would like to hear how my car sounds as well, so I will definitely post some vids as soon as I get the hardware.

They used to sell such kits at BestBuy (outdoor kit, motorsports kit, etc.) which had various mounts used in those environments. I usually just buy a pack of curved mounts and flat mounts with some of the swivel arms and call it a day. I personally don't use any harnesses, etc.

As for SD cards, stick to what GoPro has on their site for what's supported. I'm currently rocking a SanDisk ultra myself. I had some data corruption issues which I thought was SD card related and bought like 2 different ones, but turns out I just needed to 're-flash' my GoPro firmware (even though I was already on the latest version). GoPro tech support told me to do it and I haven't had issues since.

I use my GoPro for 'motovlogging' (see link in my signature).

Ok, here's a Note 3 video that came out ok...just got home from work, warm start. Still don't think it fully captures the sound but maybe it can give you some idea of what the sport mufflers sound like if you turn up the volume a little:

Here's another one, Note 3 inside the cabin as I am getting on the highway. Phone picks up a lot of other noises as well, but you can hear the exhaust ok:

Thanks. I see myself getting the sport exhaust then eventually some bigger piping and resonator delete.

Excellent work, looks clean and sounds great. Sounds appropriate for the car if that makes sense, not like a '70 454 Chevelle or something but much more refined.

Sounds nice. I may go with this setup on mine. It is too quite stock. Did you have to do a tune after doing the exhaust?

walt1227, no I am currently running the stock tune right now. I already talked to Joe about getting the Uprev tune. You don't have to do anything tune-wise, as I believe the ECU will adjust itself to the new exhaust to a point...but in order to harness the extra performance from the bigger diameter pipes, a custom tune is a must. I plan on having the car dyno'd with the stock tune first, then after the Uprev tune. I wish I would've dyno'd the car bone stock, but I didn't think about it. I also want to do a few GoPro videos with an external mike to really capture the sound. The Note 3 does ok but there's too much external noise to really hear the rumble.

I live in Canada (British Columbia)and the Q70 Sport Muffler B0100Q70SM is not available here.
Anyone know of an Infiniti dealership in Washington or Idaho that would have access to these mufflers. I did call a couple of dealers but they sounded confused and told me this was not an OEM part but must be aftermarket.
Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know about how the tariffs etc work but I am selling my one month old OEM sport exhaust. I just bought a q50 redsport and the dealer removed my sport exhaust as part of the deal. I am located in northern VA/DC area. It does not fit the q50 redsport unfortunately. Its in perfect condition and really is a nice exhaust and looks amazing.

Reminds me of my car until the cutouts are open. Although the HPS intake tubes and K&Ns really changed the deepness of the intake noise as well.

I am still running the Bullydog and my ECU has compensated for everything I have done so far.

I really wish someone made a more aggressive exhaust cam set for these cars.

I'm having the same issue...it's something with Windows 10 that happened recently.

I'll go through all the posts and put the URL under the video (the video is working for some people). Check back in a few.

I can't really draw a comparison between the two because I went to a 2-1/2" X-pipe set up when I swapped the mufflers. I was running the stock mufflers on the OEM 2" pipes. The stock mufflers actually sound pretty good once you delete the resonators and post cats. When I bought my car, I started with the resonator/Y-pipe delete first, because it chokes down to 1-3/4" ID through the tubes. I replaced it with an X-pipe and straight pipes, staying with the stock 2" size piping. It was a little louder but still mild for my tastes, so I went back and had the post cats deleted and replaced with 2" test pipes. With the stock mufflers, this set up is pretty good balance of loudness inside and outside the cabin. I posted a couple of videos on YouTube if you look up "2012 M56 exhaust".

The sport mufflers are a little louder, not much louder...just a deeper tone. The difference is more pronounced in the V8, since the sport mufflers are the same for the 3.7 as well. I read somewhere that the sport mufflers are made by Tanabe, so you are getting a quality muffler if you decide to go that route.

Are there any videos of Q70 5.6L with just the Infiniti Sport Exhaust Mufflers. I would like to purchase them but hesitate to have them shipped up to Canada without first hearing how they sound.

I still haven't found one. I do plan on getting it sometime in the next 2-3 months. It will just be adding the sport muffler at first. I'll decide if I want to remove resonators/go bigger piping at a later date.

I am not aware of any 5.6L videos with just the sport mufflers. Based on my experience vs the factory mufflers, and the fact that I changed my exhaust 3 times, I can tell you that:

1. The tone will be deeper.
2. As far as loudness, it will be a little louder at best with just a muffler swap.
3. More louder if you delete the resonators.
4. Even more louder if you also delete the post cats and run straight pipes or X-pipe.

I believe that you will be pleased with the sound.

Agreed. I pretty much copied your setup with exception of deleting the post cats, which I'm seriously considering. I just need to find a shop in my area to tune it if I do.
