no, it was liquid wrench, no that PB stuff. I'll go pick up some tonight. I'll do that soak and beat routine.

IMHO a sane installation should never be done in less than 2-3 days if you haven't done it like 10x before

well, got the engine, had to go pick it up at the terminal. Only, Parts I thought were coming with the engine did not, like the downpipe and the hotpipe. but, the engine is bolted in the car, fuel is hooked up, and other stuff is. is it just me, or are there alot of surplus vacuum lines that I can cap off? I have no Idea what lot are supposed to do. lol. But I am tired and sick, and I hope things will make more sense in the morning.

Just got back from a bath, I definatly feel more human. lol. That engine is so sexy in my car, but I got to the point I would stare at the eninge for a minute, before my friend was asking what I was doing. So, I figured that that was it for the evening. Gotta dig up a downpipe, hotpipe, and an intake pipe. I figure I can fab up temporary a temporary hot pipe and intake pipe, but i dunno about the downpipe. I might end up driving the car with no exhaust to an exhaust place, and have them make me a pipe. Thats all I think I can do. And I ended up cuttign through the KA downpipe, I have to seperate the flange from the cat. I wish I had the money to get my exhaust system now. lol

Yeah just run open exhaust and take it to an exhaust place for the dowpipe, as for the exhaust have you looked into te URAS RS its 3" non-resinated, full SS and is only $310 I think there is a groupbuy at 240sxforums for it,That is what I have and it is a top quality product

Yea, a lot of the vacuum lines are crap. When I pull mine back out next month I'm going back through it and removing everything that I can.

Ok, I posted a new thread. I need an intake pipe, downpipe, and a hot pipe. anyone who has anything that will work, please e-mail me @ [email protected] , or post here. Well, my electronics are supposed to be here early next week, and I'm just doing little things now. What did you guys do for AC? I don't see how the KA compressor or bracket fits onto the CA at all. I might just have the Freon removed, remove the compressor, and see how long I last without AC.

Ok, another question. There is a vacuum line comingoff the turbo/ wastgate. What does that go to? I don't want to screw it up, go high boost, and blow the engine. lol. there is a line coming from the exhaust side of the turbo, it joins a line off the (wastgate valve?), and was cut shotly after that T. I gott find a digi cam...

You know, another comment. It still amazes me how much smaller the CA is that the DOHC KA. I mean, I have seen a swap before, but I am sitting there, looking at the car, and it still amazes me. lol. just a random comment.

the KA24DE compressor WON'T FIT, it's the KA24E that will. If your motor set / clip came with a stock one, you're best off going to an AC shop and having custom lines made up, vs getting a KA24E one and screwing with the pulley and/or mounting bracket to make it line up right. At least on a SOHC engine you can bolt it on, not belt it up (since it doesn't 100% line up) and worry about making it work later w/o draining system..

yea, well, I think I will bungee the compressor to something, take the car to work (I work at an HVAC shop), and have one of the techs remove the freon, then remove the compressor, and run it withou airconditioning. Also, there are some hoses I am not sure where to run. I'll see if i can get a digi cam and post soem pics.

Did your motor come w/ a compressor? if so I'd say take it with you, then when you're there have them pull the freon out and then slap in your CA one and have some lines made up, then put it back in.. your 92 probably still uses R12 so you can probably recharge with that (or Freeze12 or whatever R12-alike non-R134a replacement). Use the CA FSM to determine the right amount to put in ... if you don't tho, make sure to cap off the AC lines so they don't get dirty inside.

for the A/C, if you havnt drained the system yet and plan to, just unscrew a pipe and let it vent. be sure no one who likes the environment is around, and dont stand too close cuz that stuff will give you a headache/make you a lil loopy. hehe, i did it twice - but then again i didnt have a choice.

and i agree with ryan, pictures or death.

Ok, a question about the wiring. Are ther some little plugs that have no home? I have found place for most of the plugs, but there are some little ones left. If anyone wants to drive thier CA 240 to my House this weekend, I feed you Dinner!?!?!? This project would be alot easier if I had another car to copy.
