whered everyone go?

update on my car: i got the motor out last sunday night... its rough working all by myself but i got it done... and abused my family when it came time to get the motor out w/ the hoist. cousins come in handy.

i got the car towed to atx yesterday afternoon like at 4:30 and the turn around is great. basically the car got done today, i could have had it towed back but i decided to just pick it up in the morning. i stopped by a couple times during the day to see how it was going and i gotta say im happy w/ the work... not so happy w/ the bill but we wont talk about that lol. theyre expensive but i think damn well worth it for the work and the fact that they got it done so damn fast.

pix:

finally got the motor out w/ some help for the pushing and shoving partspecial thanks to red hills towing for hooking it upinside view before paintnarvin of atx throwing on some seam sealantfinal fenderwell view... looks um... stock

all in all im pretty damn happy. the work is quality and the price was actually reasonable... it started escalating on me once i started adding things to the bill... my car was pretty rust free when i first got it but there was two big holes behind the drivers and passengers seats right where they bolt onto the floorpan and they took care of those too. ive told people about those... the holes i lose my change through lol. well, theyre patched now

bmar check the pix and see what u think. i think its quality work which is y i took the car there in the first place, but to be honest its not "cheap"

any of you guys have experience using a pop riveter. I've decide to delete my s14 sunroof, basically get sheet metal, slightly oversized of exisiting hole, drill holes, thin layer of silcone, rivet, interior silcone as well. I would opt for welding but car was painted 2years ago. I'd rather source a non sunroof and have the roof welded on. But for time being sheet metal should suffice,,cost no more than 60-

No experience with rivets.

How about a carbon fiber roof? No welding involved. Just cut out the old one, attach the carbon fiber with epoxy.

Rust repair looks pretty nice, but need some close up weld pics. Also curious how much it was.

labor for just that repair was $445. its all covered up and sealed so no real close up of the welds but u can check it out next time i come over to the garage... which would be sometime once the cars running again. boost ready ka is in just waiting for the weekend to get the trans in and hook everything back up.

Well wehn i fixed my overheating issue i snapped off the ai bleeder valve screw and it snapped off inside so i left it. And everytime i drive it it sucks in a little bit of air. Well now it just recently started to overheat which sucks lol. I have to drill ut out a second time and replace the screw and bleed it again GRRRR....

But w/e at least its nothing major

the cars running pretty damn good... couple issues here and there... p/s is acting funny... need to trouble shoot the a/c (i likes my ac) but the motor itself is just all kinds of ka goodness.

95 s13 ka ~90k miles, arp headstuds, felpro headgasket, new w/p t/stat, using the s14 intake runners w/o the swirl valves and everything else was just swapped over from the s13 ka. just a lil frankensteining going on. i removed the pair box and pluged the vacuum lines for that and for the swirl valve solenoids but idk if theres something else i should have done... im slacking on my research lol.

the new wheels are pretty dope too... fitment is decent but i still want to roll/pull so i can go lower. the tires i put on there are so bald and dry that u can spit on the floor and the car will go sideways... its fun

whats going on w/ everyone elses builds?

sht man... let me know when u got some time and ill come down and check it out. the car actually runs good, idle bounces a little sometimes but idk y. its not rough but it just goes up and down slowly. i scanned it for codes w/ the consult when we got it running and it was 55, should prob check it again now though. i deff need some pointers on the vacuum lines though lol.

for kicks heres a vid of marc driving my car. we dropped the coilovers down as far as they go and im very happy w/ the results. not superjdm/cali tight but perfect for jersey streets.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8HIoOMiI9M

Did u bleed the ps after doing the swap, wheels off ground turn 2 lock. If so then pump might just be taking a crap. Buddy had a similiar squeal

What kind of kat setup are your running or anyone else on here. Another buddy of mine is looking to go kat basic setup. One is 95% done, another will be starting soon kat install.

My update, car is still down for 2 more weeks at most. So, much to do everything thing is like at 65%,jumping around a lot. Rear brakes should be done this week..as well as sunroof delete..everything else is cake walk.

i left all the ps stuff untouched in the car while doing the swap so i didnt really do anything after putting it all back together but the fluid was pretty low and i think its leaking somewhere. i dumped some lukas in there and ill bleed it well first chance i get. im hoping its not the pump.

im gonna be running an ams mani setup w/ a gt3076r, 44mm wg, 550cc injectors, greddy ic and a bunch of other stuff i have laying around... havent decided on tuning and theres soooo much i want to do to the red car but im trying to hold myself back from spending money on it till i finish the blue car.

im gonna get my sht together and start some build threads lol

edit: anyone gonna start going to edgewater? i was there last thurs and it wasnt too bad despite the fact that it was cold as hell.

Sam, did you see this one?

Barbie car, byatches.

Louis, I have a good power steering pump if you need. But you probably just need to bleed it. It could have sucked in air if it was low.

Looks good but need lowerlowerlower.

miro u fruit bag!!! should have expected it from a guy that works on his car w/ no pants lmao. im playing dude... but damn... pink is too jdm for me.

i cant go lower the coilovers are maxed which is fine w/ me i dont really want to go lower. just have to get the right tires and adjust to flushness... my cambers all fked up i think since... well i dont have anything adjusted lol

i put some lukas in the ps res and it seems to be getting better... havent bled it yet though. im too lazy after work for car work.

kfl and anyone else that has time during the weekends is more than welcome to come by my house and help. im gonna finish up w/ a couple things i want to do to the red car and then i have to start clearing the engine bay out on the coupe to get it to atx. in other words, i have my hands full and could use all the help i can get. weekends around my house tend to turn out like mini-meets anyway and w/ the weather getting better it should be good for some bbqing and beer.

miro u gonna be around the garage this weekend i was thinking about stopping by?
