dood i saw this car on CL...honestly I have a shell I'm parting completely out...if you know anyone with a welder i can cut out the side where the strut tower is and you can have it welded on. You can have it for free, besides the cost of the blades to cut it.

I live in North NJ. lmk if youre interested.

Well, i made some progress in the past few days. I Ripped off the spoiler, and took care of the rust, and used some steel mesh and used bondo. It was my first time using bondo, and i HATE it.

Did i mention that i HATE bondo?

In the next day or so, i'll finish sanding, then probably put some primer over it for now, then I'm working on my interior. Wish me luck.

:spitout: umm dude...is that all bondo? thats a s*** ton of it. Holes that big should not be filled with just bondo. Also you need a smaller mesh. All the bondo will fall right through that huge mesh. I did my whole antenna hole in bondo which was stretching it. Fiberglass those holes, bondo is not going to last.

I know it isn't good, i just don't want a wet trunk, atleast until i can get a new hatch. Everyone i know with 240's only have coupes so i'm going to go to a junkyard soon.

easiest way to fix your hatch is to find one with no spoiler. bondo is not supposed to be used to fill in holes; they're meant to be used as a way to smooth out dent repairs in small amount. that bondo will soak up water in the long run and fall apart.

like i said, i don't have money for a new hatch, and i didn't want a wet trunk, so i bondoed it and painted it just to keep water out for now. I'm trading the car most likely for a 91 plymouth laser, but I'l still be on the forums and i'l be back with another nissan soon enough

if you donate the car under your mom's name, she'll be happy to take it for tax redemption purpose. seriously, I'll take that laser than hatch. there's plenty of *ahem* to go around.

Don't feel too bad... I have to work on my car in short bursts in random parking lots before cops show up (not allowed to work on cars at my place).

Anyway, welcome!

That sucks. None of the pep-boys or autozones will let you take a back corner spot for the day?

with some time and patience youll have more fun and love that car more than u ever thought possible, especially if u start drifting, youll never think twice about a "wrong-wheel drive" car again. after u get the tower fixed and ur other things resolved u have any plans for a swap???

no sr... eeew. i do however have a COMPLETE ca18det swap, wired for a usdm chassis. engine, trans, ecu, wiring harness, spec stage 3 clutch, spec 9lb flywheel, greddy timing belt, new oem timing set, new water pump, ported intake manifold with 65mm throttle body. engine was rebuilt a few months ago when pulled (running) from car, blown head gasket. since, head was cleaned and insepected and has been resurfaced and re-worked and all was done using complete nissan oem gasket set and seals. since motor was out we went ahead and reconditioned the bottom end with nissan oem rings, rod bearings main bearings and oil pump. engine was given to me for money owed. i was going to keep it as a spare ca for my car or maybe another project but i have tuition to pay for college and need money really bad so $1500 takes it. head gasket blew due to 2 conditions. temp gauge in car didnt work (didnt work with stock ka in car either) and the water pump was leaking.

also it has a red top sr t25 turbo. the stock ca t25 compressor housing was ported to allow the larger compresssor wheel to fit in it, we kept that housing so all the existing intercooler piping would still work. exhaust/turbine side is stock, it has not been modified in any way and the stock turbo dump lines up just fine. my ca made 248whp, 227wtq with a red top t25 on 10psi with an safc, n60 maf, front mount intercooler, and 3" exhaust but at the time it was mostly stock and i was VERY impressed.
