*UPDATE* Well, over the past few days, ive made some progress, and done some stuff that really wasnt progress at all.
She still sits on jack-stands :tisk:

As i would sand the bondo on the hatch, it was breaking off, and pushing through, so i said screw it, and painted it for the time being until i can find a good, wingless hatch around here for cheap

I also got pretty bored, and spray painted the turn signals, and the center trim light exept for the reverse lights and the door handles flat black. :naughty:

i decided to rip into the car alittle more, pull out all my seats, tear out he disgusting carpet, and see how bad it is. I'm not wasting 40hours of time to get the sound s*** out, i dont seat a point, i bet i have rust there, but truth be told this car will be totaled or sold before the rust is that bad. I've got to get some repaired, right by the door jam and by the pedals though.

I put my mats back in, you all know what a 240 floor looks like anyway :chuckle:

I know s*** about wireing, so i just ripped out all the old sub and amp wires while the carpet was out, i still need to disconect the fuse box, or whatever its called. Oh and i cant friggen wait to put my headunit in. VVV Looks like fun huh? VVV

Pullin that bad boy out

Another reason i can't save the hatch...

I hang my air freshnor from my sunroof latch...get on my level :mike
ImageMy spare tire. More fun down there
Image
Wish i knew somthing about 240s before i handed that ***hole $900 without checking for rust

Alright thanks man. I'm just deciding whether or not to pour my life savings in this car, or make it fun and driveable, and once i either blow 2 motors or total it, go look for a nicer condition, un-mollested silvia or another hatch

make the strut tower your #1 concern, make sure you get the new peices welded in perfectly, its very important. cover it all in rust paint after youre done.
sleepy eye can be done in numerous ways, there are threads on how to do it, check them out, see what youd like to do. i cut the brown wire, yes, its kinda ghetto.
save paint and any serious body work until last, in the course of fixing it and working on it and planning the future look and use of the car out in your mind, youll change your mind frequently until you finaly settle on what it should be, spray bombing it is fine, just be prepared to sand and wet sand your arms off to make it look sorta good. get an orbital sander and a elec. buffer...super fine paper and go to town.
spend extra time with the masking tape and cover it well and it may just turn out good.
