NICO Ski trip 2009/2010!

Alright guys, since I was such a mess last year in trying to arrange a ski trip, I’m going to get started early this year to secure a better resort and more attendance.

Lets work on leaving the calendar open for any dates in December, January, February, or March. Preferably a Friday, Saturday, Sunday. If a Saturday, Sunday, Monday is better for most, we can try to be flexible.

With the dates that you all suggest, (to be determined later by vote) I will call my contact and see if I can’t get us a deal in the most popular dates for a good price.

Regarding the price- Price per person will drop based on how many people come. Feel free to invite your significant others, friends, family, etc. NICO is a family, we can always welcome more members. Price will start at $160-180 per person for 3 days of lodging in a proper condo that we'll share. I will work on seeing if I can get lift tickets and/or rentals (if you need them) at a discount and include that for you all, too. BYO alcohol and food. This event will be at a nice resort, please be courteous to other guests as well!

For those considering flying in- I live near an popular airport that is a Southwest hub and so do most other members. We can all work out a carpool and driving situation as the dates progress. However, if you need the help of other members regarding your arriving and departing flights, please be courteous of timing with the other members.

The mountain will have access for skiers as well as snowboarders and will be in the New England area- Vermont, New Hampshire, or Maine.

Actually, bunny hills only teach you the basics. I didnt learn anything til I got on a real hill.

No school: Dec 12 thru Jan 3 (I think)

Of course, we prolly want to avoid the holiday weekends though. So that only leaves the weekend of Dec 12 or Dec 19. I guess I could do a weekend in January or February. Maybe MLK weekend when lotsa people have Monday off??

Thats much easier with ski's, a little more difficult with a snowboard. Your more prone to breaking things above the hip with a snowboard. Your face and head included. Although you can break your tailbone and back with either hehe.

I remember this time i hit my head twice in one day without a helmet and had nosebleeds for 2 months. Kinda remember..

We could, but that would cost us all more $$ because I'm able to get a good price here via knowing an employee who works the front desk/reservations. Get your bum self on an airplane and get moving!

So my Big Sky Montana idea was shot down I guess?

I have a place to stay in New Hampshire right next to a ski mountain that can sleep uuum 10? I mean it has 8 beds. Not my house though, but no one will be there and it might be able to be used.

Seriously though, we need to kick this up a notch. If we go to Big Sky, I can get four or five others on board. We are planning to go there this winter break regardless.

Your place in NH would be far less than what I'm looking at setting up. Care to nail down a date? What resort is it near?

Another good mountain is, well it was Big Mountain but now i think its WhiteFish Montana. Its pretty secluded and people usually go to the other nearby mountain because of the fog that you usually get at whitefish. Though if you stick to the glades its nice and clear. This place gets a ton of snow. Good times, lots of fresh powder. People are cool as is the local scene.

half the fun of learning is eating s***. hell i still take spills every time i go. it's a good time and no one will judge you. but we will poke lots of fun when we're nursing sore muscles with booze
