Just got my BRM. 2.5" stainless steel, hi-flow cat, 22" resonator, dual tips. Looks beautiful, Greg! Cannot wait to install it. All I need now is a gasket and a bit of gasket sealer

Quick question, the 22" resonators are in SS right?

Because the resonator looks alot different then the piping.

Thanks,Arinder

Resonator and muffler are ALWAYS SS (even if you get aluminized steel piping).

So what's the diameter of the resonator body for all 3 sizes?

Soooo, according to the magnaflow site they don't make 22" resonator for a 3" in/out.

So next best option is 18". According to the magnaflow site the only 18" they make for a 3" in/out is with a 6" body. Will there be any clearance for that? Do they not make any with a 4" body?

With over 400 sold, we've thought of all that.

Keep in mind, not everything we use is available on the Magnaflow site, or to the general public. Some of what we use is jobber-only.

Anyhow, we've moved a ton of systems w/o clearance issues.

Without getting into too much detail, a resonator for 3" piping with a 4" body simply would not function.

Oh ok, but would a 6" body resonator fit on your system without clearance issues with the sway bar or ground? Sorry if I am cluttering your thread.

Yes.

Make sure to ask yourself if you really NEED a 3" system. If you're not slinging huge boost (upwards of 400 hp, then the answer is, nope. Save yourself some money and some clearance and get 2.5".

okay well i need help here :-/ I've had the exhaust on car running for a few months now...

aall stainless steel, 22" resonator, dual tip muffler, 2.5" piping.

Sounded DEEP and GREAT on my KA with lotsa boltons... then recently the muffler it's no leaking but it sounded being REALLY raspy... it went from scary monster deep to raspy as hell

I first thought I developed leaks or something but nope... no leaks anywhere... today at the shop inspected it and definetely the rear muffler going poo poo...

Sigh... advice

This is concerning. If I am going to order an exhaust for a KA I want to be sure it lasts more than a few months, though the customer service seems very good with you guys, and I'm sure you will address the problems for a_ahmed, you guys seem really good about your CS.

I have a magnaflow/flowmaster muffler here, but I want to know the magnaflow I order from you is going to hold up. The quality on my muffler is EXELENT, and have driven it since 2001 on two cars with no problem.

a_ahmed, please email me and let me know if you have any information.\

Greg, please give us some re-assurance to boost our confidence. Could have easily been a welder having an off day or a lot on his/her mind. Everyone is under pressure these days it seems, it makes for a lot to worry about during work.

P.S. Thanks for the great email communications!

Hard for us to diagnose a car via the web. If there's an issue with the muffler, then I will have it warrantied via Magnaflow.

However, since it's a straight-through design, I cant imagine it "falling apart" inside, since it's not like your typical muffler (with baffles and packing and such).

400+ systems sold, and we've never seen something happen with the muffler.

a_ahmed can email me any time and we'll get it taken care of, regardless. That's how we do.

hey greg i forget ur email lawl, what is it *blush* I'll email you

Basically it sounds raspy as hell now Wheher its resonator or muffler i dont know... but i DID sound frickin AMAZING unlike any other exhaust before (very monstrously deep :D).

It is also a cop-friendly exhaust LOL. They have no idea what I have on the car HAHA, *evil*

Thanks

PS - Oh yeah looks crooked in these pics cause i was getting a header installed lol. I run a 2.5" testpipe and dc spors 4-2-1 header now. It sounded UNBELIVABLE wih this setup and no raspy.... only two months afer header and decat did it start sounding raspy It sounded deep and great prior and it became EVEN MORE profoundly deeper with header and testpipe installed...

Checked for leaks and nothing at all.. just it became raspy and it is coming from tailpipes no leaks...

How'd you get it to tuck it in like that? Mine hangs extremely low, hits almost any speed bumb. Still rocking the 4X4 status and also got new rubber insulators.
