Probably the quietest straight-through system on the market.

The only thing I have seen that's quieter was a system with a silencer - and silencers are junk.

See Page One of this thread for more info on the system.
here's what I want:

3.0" aluminized $460 with dual tips. I want the resonator but dont know which to chose-14", 18" or 22"

I want the quietest exhaust set up but with no sacrifice in performance. Or at least very minimal sacrifice in performance.

Also, will this set up be quieter than the apexi n1 dual tip?

thanks

Nope. You may need to go back to stock if they're being that stupid about it.

I'd take it to a testing facility and get it dB tested, with a certified letter you can show a judge... That's bordering on harassment.

Otherwise, consult an attorney - And read up on the law. If there's no specific law, again - harassment.

Go with the 18". It's a good compromise for fitment on a 3" system. Also, unless you're running big boost, stick with 2.5".

I'm not a fan of the Apexi, but for construction reasons, not sound reasons. I think ours is quieter, but a lot of that depends on the car.

Hey Hitman, I have been following your Project Z, its coming along nicely and i was wondering, will you be developing an exhaust system for it, i also have a Z, Its a 280 but an exhaust for the S30 chassis should be universal. I have heard many an S-chassis with your BRM system and i would totally rock one on my Z.

I have a 98 S14 so im hoping the sound is alot quiter. What exactly comes with the exhaust. Will I still need:

3" Turbo elbow (outlet)3" Down pipe3" Test pipe (or high flow cat)

Am I missing something? Also, what is the advantage of going with your exhaust over the apexi n1 which seems like a brand most people use and is well known.

Thanks, JR

It's a catback exhaust, so it replaces everything after your cat. Everything else you listed is before this exhaust. A high flow cat can be included at an extra cost. It's on the first page.

I have an Apexi N1 catback and I wish I would have gone with this exhaust instead. Not because the Apexi is bad, but because I'll be moving back to CA and don't want to draw the unneccessary attention. Also, this exhaust just looks so clean and sexy. If you had a S13, you could've bought my Apex'i N1 exhaust so I can buy this one.

Would you recommend a high flow cat or a 3" test pipe? Im hoping for the same performance without the loud noise levels. I really want a quiet exhaust setup. How do you feel about the catco cat?

I run a catco cat myself. I've seen dynos with various Nissans from GT-Rs to SR20 240s with and without a cat. The difference was about 2 to 3 whp and was not enough imo to run without a cat. I guess Nissan cats aren't as restritive as others like Hondas. My set up is a lot quieter than others who runs test pipes too. So yes, for a quiet, nearly identical performance, I'd run it with a high flow cat.

Probably not, since they're very slightly different between 70 - 78.

If someone has an S30 in Miami that we can build a jig from, I might consider it.

Shoot me an email, I may have an idea.

This is a catback, which means the exhaust system from the cat back.

So you're going to need a cat or testpipe (which we offer), and you're on your own for the downpipe and turbo elbow.

Nope, you're not missing a thing. We've sold almost 500 S-chassis catbacks since 2002. I don't like to bash another company's stuff, and the N1 is a popular system. Hit up Dano (member here on NICO for many years) and ask him about his N1 duals.

Thanks JR!

No. Rotten egg smell is from a BAD catcon. If you had no cats on your M3, it probably had bad (fouled) cats on it for a while, and the rotten eggs smell soaked into the interior.

I can't say whether your car will pass, since I don't know if it's running properly.

Putting a new cat on a car that runs poorly will still result in a fail.

Glad to help!

Ok cool, would the high flow cat you sell be that much quieter than a 3" test pipe? I wouldnt mind the 2-3whp gain with the test pipe.

thanks!

Not much difference in sound.

Cat is also quite a bit more costly than a testpipe.

Your engine doesn't matter. It's a catback.

Which means, if your car has the downpipe in the original location, then it will bolt right up.

If your car has no catalytic converter, we can add one, or we can sell you a test pipe of the same length.

And 2.5 is fine for a CA-powered car.

Sure, what the hell...

$25 off ANY system ordered between now and Christmas Day.

Someone help me get the word out, I'm about to hit the showers and turn in for the night.

Not applicable to prior orders, and no good after Christmas...

Now I gotta figure out how to delay paying our steel supplier until after January 1...

Damn customs...

It never fails - If we don't declare the value of the contents, UPS crushes it flat and we're left with no claim. If we do, Customs rapes our customers.

Grrr....

I kinda expected it coming through UPS. I usually get lucky with USPS. Dont know why, but USPS never charges me anything...
