Just walked out of work and MY Q has died. No power anywhere, but new battery. Theres a relay/fuse box at the front left corner of the engine compartment, and something is clicking continuously, very faint, sounds like morse code. Hope its not typing out SOS.

Any ideas anyone?

Nope, not alt belt. Because of my power curve problem at higher rpm's, I went to PEP BOYS at lunch time to get injector cleaner. SO, when CLIMBING BACK INTO MY CAR through the driver's window, because my drivers door won't unlock, I inadvertently hit the light switch, turning on my headlights, and, since its the MIDDLE OF THE DAY, I didn't notice when I parked my car at lunch. There you have it. Avalanche.

I'm replacing both battery post connectors today. We got the Q started at about 10pm last night.

Funniest thing, It was towed to my friends who had some mechanics over working on another car and everyone just came over and tackled the Q. Jaws dropped when the hood was opened because these guys never saw a Q before and had no idea of what was under the hood. They do now. Turns out the post conectors were the originals and had outlived their time. They were taken off and tightend several times earlier in the day and the car was even jumped, but nothing. These guys got it going though and seem to have fallen for her.

I got the plugs Wes..

Wow!!!! Sorry to hear about all your Gremlins....I wish you guys the best in getting your cars running perfect as I know from experience that it is a real pain in the a$$ to get it right. My car is running great after spending $3,500 in parts & labor at the dealer. I hope the new transmission & tc fixes my drop in rpms under hard acceleration problem. The only way I can find out is to install the new transmission and after the 750 mile breakin period to test it out to see if the problem goes away.

When you get the Q working correctly...it is a truely awesome car. Good luck on your cars...

I know what you all mean when people see the Q's engine. Over Half of the people I speak with think that there is a V6 under the hood and can't believe the HP & torque it has when I tell them....

I had the new 7 series eat me alive about a week ago....well it was not that bad of an a$$ whoppin, but still a good whoppin none the less. That will all change though with my mods and in less than 3 months I will be the one handing out the whoppins.

I wouldn't even look twice at a new 740. That would be an embarrassment. But, my buddy has a '97 740iL and I've handed him a couple of a$$ whoopings. Not really whoopings, but I take him by a car length 0-80mph, with him in the lead by a length 0-50 mph. He's taken me a time or two as well, by about the same margin. We think my Q may already be chipped, because I'm doing 0-60's in 7.2 +/- 1 sec (timed by a watch in the car with my buddy watching the speedometer and the watch). Also already had the K&N's when I bought it too. I don't know how to tell if it's been re-chipped. Anybody know?

Thats what most Qs run.. i run about a 6.5 0-60 with my stopwatch...

OIts funny, BMW is just now making their flagship as fast as the Q.....

trust me....I was not the one looking for the race against the new 7 series....I have not raced anybody really in the last 3 years as all the new cars are so much faster. If I find an older car...mid 90's or maybe a slow 2001/2002 model then....yeah...I will go for it if they challenge me otherwise I just let it go. But lately since I have the renewed interest in my car...I accepting the challenges..even if I know I will get beat becuase I know in less than 3 months from it will be a different story and I can see how much faster my Q will be.

I hear that the new Acura TL S types do 0-60 in only 6.7 secs. I can't wait to find one of those to race.

I saw the new Pontiac GTO today...it looked like a Grand Am to me. I could not believe how plain the car looked. I know they make them over in Australia for a while...but they did not impress me.

The new 7-series is the second-most hideous thing I've seen in its price range. The 5 series being the MOST hideous. Thankfully BMW moved Chris Bangle away from the drawing board and into a cushy upper level position.

The GTO follows the tradition of putting a mean powerplant into a basic automobile (first GTO was a powertrain experiment with the Pontiac Temptest). Man, talk about a sleeper.

This is a fun read... http://www.motortrend.com/road...4gto/

it is so funny how this guy Chris Bangle has made a name for himself. I follow the message boards on roadfly.org where they have Jags/BMW's/Porsche/Lotus and those BMW guys just bash the crap out of him. I know Jag was seriously considering about hiring him a couple years ago and this would have been a disaster. After he did not get with Jag...he went to BMW.

I understand about the GTO and sleeper thing...I just thought that it would have a little more styling. That was a good aritcle.

Keith got up with me:D :D I can now get my Active suspension stuff going!! Talking about a happy man. :D :D

The 7's are so ugly that when your drinking you chew your arm off just to get it over with.......

Seen the new Acura TL S and he didn't pass me.. Of course I don't think he was really trying, but we had a fun few miles of road.. Ugly color though, it was a pale green.... Yuckk!!! Sweet rims and what looked like or seemed like air shocks!!
