you all might want to check with our fellow Nico member....Dr.Q as he just converted his active suspension to a standard setup. Maybe he still has the parts from his active suspension and maybe some of them work and you can buy them cheap. I don't known anything about the active suspension, but he might have some spare parts for you all really cheap

[quote=" AZ94Q You probably could use a recharge of the actuators.. texasoil can take care of that for you.. That should be all you need, to get the divine ride of the active suspension back :) [/quote]

The actuators were very dirty and are one of the peices of info I haven't found much on. I know they haven't been serviced in a while. .. wait.....Just got a FSM from Wes -- THANK YOU WES!! You are my hero!!!

That's good advice from RSI..

If you can pick up some old actuators, you wouldn't have any downtime, when/if you need to send them off for recharging...

I'll look into it. Can't e-mail DR-Q so maybe he'll read this and respond.

With the active suspension, I really don't know what's good and what's not. I mean, it drives smooth, but maybe a tad hard. Still better then most rides I've had... by far. I'm sure the actuators need service from the look of them. Just have that old look to 'em.

The active suspension will outhandle and outride any normal or modified Q suspension. It is completely computer controlled. It will allow absolutely NO lean/fade/dive/etc under .5g

I have also found active suspension controllers, which can enhance the handling.. I will report back, when I get it installed..

It shouldn't ride hard, if it's fully charged.. Which means it probably is in need of charging...

You have one of the most advanced suspension systems in the world.. Still to this day, it has only been replicated and enhanced by Mercedes Benz, and is only installed on vehicles nearing or exceeding a 6 figure price tag..

Go read this artcile.

Get the system working, and you will understand :)

Oh man, that's super sexy...

I love the 2k2 wheels on the G50...

Elw, why not pick one up cheap... I see As going for around 3,000-4,000 all the time... you could keep it garaged, and fix it up when you have time...

Got up with Dr-Q and hopefully have something worked out. Just need to find out about texasoil's rebuilds and how much $$$ as oppossed to new actuators. I'll call Joe tomorrow the price them.

Got to share this with you. Picture this...... Open road, Beach, Ocean, Huge full moon in blue sky before sunset then.... actual sunset over the ocean... with speed!!

I was driving my Q at the beach where I live about 20 minutes before sunset when the sky is still blue. My beach runs East to West not North to South, and so while heading east on the hwy that runs parallel to that beach,(with ocean in view) I got this huge full moon in the sky directly in front of me. Got the windows down, sunroof open and CD screaming. Still with me? Now I ride to the end of the hwy and turn around, now heading back west. The sun is just about ready to set just in front of me off to my left over the ocean. About 4 minutes later it sets over the ocean winking goodbye to me and I'm all alone on this hwy just flying down the road. Man what a drive!!:D :D :D

Gentleman, I say to you, this is why we have the rides we do and that is why we keep em' running.

ditto...

I am glad that you might have something worked out with Dr.Q there on that "a" system.

I can't wait to get my car back...I really dislike this G35 sedan I got and to think that the service rep acted like he was doing me a favor and putting me into a brand new car worth about 7 times more than my Q.....forget about it. The only positive things are the brakes and stereo. I think tomorrow night I am going to see what kind of Bose speakers they have in the doors nowadays and see if I can put them into my car. The sound is well balanced and I am amazed at the amount of base coming from the front doors...the hairs on my legs are vibrating.

If you check I think you'll be surprised how far door speakers have come. Make your knee caps rattle then itch. I've found the cheaper you go the quicker they blow so stay with Bose!

I think the accumulators could run as much as $250 each to have them rebuilt. Things that make you go Hmmmm.....

yeah...I plan on staying with Bose...and the G35 sedan has the Bose speakers in it. I just want to see if I can fit them into my Q door speakers becuase they are really pumpng out the music. By the time summer is over with, I will have my Q looking, acting, and performing like it just rolled off the showroom floor as a 2004 model. I am thinking about a HID kit...but not certain yet.

I don't have the kind of cash needed to buy new actuators for the active suspension for my Q.

Definitely need texasoil after I get the active suspension stuff from Dr.Q.

I just bought my first Q too. It's a '95 w/153k. Drives flawlessly as far as I can tell. transmission shifts nicley, motor quiet with no misses. Really strong between 4k-6k rpm. Couple of questions for anyone: 1st, does anyone know of a good non-dealer associated or moonlight mechanic for the Q in the Charlotte, NC area? 2nd, I don't have a keyless remote, and the dealer wants $175 for it and $90 to program it. Do the $10 Maxima/Q45 remotes people are selling on e-Bay work? Not whether they actually work (opp of broken), but could I buy one of these and somehow program it to work with my Q? Last question, when will I know that my timing chain needs replacement? Any signs to look for? This is a great site!!!

:ylsuper Q's ROCK!

Welcome Qball

I think you need to ask your dealer to do a VIN lookup to see what your FCC# is and then you can go out on ebay and find the Infiniti key fob with the same FCC# on it for about $30 bucks. I just bought a third remote off of ebay out 4 months ago. Programming....there are instructions here on how to program. I don't know where...but I am sure that somebody will post them and don't pay the dealer $90 bucks for something that they should do for free as courtesy as it only takes them 2 minutes.

Programming remote has been posted here several times. It is a TSB if you go to http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/infiniti/ and download the FSM and TSB for the G50.

Timing chain stretch should not be a factor before 250K miles, especially if oil has been changed cahnged regularly.

Thanks guys. So the dealer can get my FCC# from the VIN? Cool. Hope they don't CHARGE me, the bstrds.

rsiwicki, i used to live on Key Biscayne. Matter of fact, my kids are there all this week visiting their grandma. You do any fishing?

I can see Key Biscaynne from my office...I work in Brickell. I love to fish, but have not tried Miami fishing yet. I grew up on the Northwest coast of Florida and use to go deep sea fishing and shore casting all the time. Now...I have found this new hobby of mine which is modding my Q to the point of no return. If you are ever down in the Miami area shoot me an email and we'll meet up for lunch or something.

Fishing? Someone say fishing? I'm in..

Welcome Qball. I think you'll find everything you need here. You're only the third person I've seen on this site from NC. I'm interested in the remote as well. I seem to need( or want ) everything that's talked about here and am quickly becoming a Q'aholic. I just don't have the cash or time to do everything I want as soon as possible.

The Dealer finally got back to me about the maintainance record for my Q. Fuel pump in 2001, but no major work at all. Scary if you ask me. Chain guides, a must check, moved to front burner. Guess it's time to save every penny.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Yeah, you don't see a whole lot of Q's here in NC, and that's 1 reason I wanted one. As far as fishing, I'm there. Mostly saltwater and offshore for me, not to wild about lake fishing, except for stripers at Santee. rsiwicki, i should be in Mia this July (4th July Key Biscayne parade, big party time for all the Key Rats) and would certainly like to rece you down Brickell, or across Rickenbacher.

So what's the deal with chain guides? Do you do the chain same time? Should I be looking at replacing them now at 153k?

That's good news on the chain/guides. I put my bad boy up on a lift last night, no rust, no leaks underneath, new brakes and rotors all around. Is a transmission cooler similar to the regular engine radiator? I have 2 radiators, one smaller and just in front of the engine radiator.

The transmission cooler would be the smaller of the two. As far as I know your year Q came with the cooler.

My maintainance records show that all 4 of my actuators are bad so let's look at my to do list....

Timing chains and guidesActuator rebuilds..AKA texasoil if I can get up with himPlenum jobNew Drivers side(possibly passenger side) Tan leather seats.

Well that's about what I have left to do.

So guess I'm looking at $2,500 in parts over the next few months......

one nearest fan is the radiator, one nearest front bumper is not transmission cooler,it is the air conditioning condensor. aftermarket transmission cooler is usually sandwiched in between these two,if installed at all.

Just looked, and yep, tubing goes to the A/C. Anyone know for sure if '95 came w/factory transmission cooler? I saw nothing between the two, so where would it be if it's there?
