I agree with both of you, it's pointless to waste money. You already have the luxuary maxima in the Infiniti. The pathfinder is definitely the way to go given the situation; you don't plan to drive it that often and gas prices are sky high. You've got a win-win situation! lol Additionally it would round out your fleet better to have an SUV for those jobs that require a larger vehicle.maxima278 wrote:no, that maxima is a 2000 model so it's just a vq30de. 2002 is the first year of the vq35de and the 6 speed transmission.
I kind of think it's going to end up being the pathfinder because of the price and usefulness of it. Besides I practically already have a maxima.
I'm not even sure what ground controll sleeves are, never heard of them, maybe you could explain and give a link so I could see what they look like.gr8bryt wrote:scs13, imo if you want a decent suspension setup, why not go for some ground control coil sleeves and some kyb/tokico struts. Both type struts can be purchased with some level of dampning adjustment and the ground controls can give you the option for height adjustment. You should be able to get the GC's for about $300 and the struts for about the same amount.
I thought you wanted those wheels?gr8bryt wrote:Afterwards I would consider what James said, 5-lug conversion and some wheels...Brandon is selling his for the xtra low price.
I'm interested in doing a z32 brake conversion, but what do you mean by user friendly when refering to q45 brakes? Are they easier to install? work better? just wondering, because I don't really know what all is involved with it.gr8bryt wrote:I hear that the q45 rotors are decently sized and offer some better user friendliness than the z32 rotors. 11" rotors would look good @ all four corners.
Good job, that was quite informative.Beatupsx wrote:I knew that this link would come in handy one day.
Click and learn everythin you need to know about putting the z32/q45 brakes on a 240. http://importnut.net/300zxbrakeswap.htm
I'd be happy to help you with your springs and stuff if you can get the tools (spring compressor). As far as the fmic is concerned, check on ebay. I say some really good deals on there yesterday, albeit I can't vouch for the quality. Matter of fact I saw one for $100 but I'm not sure if it included the piping or not. A lot of companies are selling sr fmic kits for about $350 with piping and all that other stuff. If you need my help just shoot me an email of when you can come to Columbia and we'll colaborate from there. Meanwhile I'll try to secure a shop so that we don't have to do the install in my yard. The Duke wrote:I'm in the same sort of situation as Jordan. I have some money but not much and I'm pretty sure I want to spend it on suspension. I have ok struts so would it benefit me to just get some decent springs? Also I don't think I could put those on myself. Could anybody help or would I have to go somewhere to do it?
If anyone knows of a good price on a decent fmic let me know. Thanks.
