Haha, screw that. This thing almost tipped our hoist over, and it's not a cheap or little one lol. Thanks for the comments, hopefully have it stripped all the way down today :D

And yes vh45de, from the strut towers forward is going to be tube, and maybe in a year or so if I have the money I have a TT setup with V mount I've been thinking up

What kind of adhesive did you use for the suede interior panels?

So, started some of the rust work. Got some of the surface rust wire wheeled and primed, and some of the bigger stuff cut out. Didn't feel like finishing it today so threw some self etching on it

Was some surface..
Image

Mostly surface, a little bit peaking through so got to check it out later
Image

Started over here, saving it for another day
Image

Main spots cut out

Engine as of today

I need to find another engine stand, the trans bolts are too big for mine haha. Hopefully get one in a couple days so I can finish tearing it down

KA and VH harness, starting to figure out what I need to move where etc.
Image

Rest of the wiring/parts chilling
Image

Need to pick up some more s*** here and there and some tools then hopefully get the rust finished up so I can start on the rotisserie

Thanks, me either hopefully soon lol

Started on the gas tank, had some surface rust starting around the sending unit and filler holes, probably gonna pick up some undercoating tomorrow and do the whole thing
Image

Started cleaning up the rail
Image

And primered by the sending unit
Image

Also cleaned the back and wire wheeled all the old sealant/primed around the holes for the lights
Image

Looks so empty

Thanks, once this rust is taking care of I can start the fun stuff :D

Does anyone know of any decent priced mil spec bulkhead connectors? Probably 15-20 pins

I was fortunate enough not to have any rust in my VH45 build 240. I'm glad you're taking care of it!!

Well besides not having much money, and not having a job anymore, and having to now find my own place to live and being 18, there's not too much to update on...

Did some more primering and got most of the VH harness stripped of what I'm not using. There was a few wires cut, the MAF and I think one of the o2 sensors, I need to look over the wiring diagram still though. I'll have pics up tomorrow

To figure out which wires are cut, the harness diagrams in the back of the FSM for the Q45 are much more useful than the individual harness wiring diagram. Just hang in there. You're still young, you have time to let things fall into place for you. I wasn't capable of doing my project until recently. I'm 23 and I'm just now making something of my project and my life for that matter. Here if you need help.

Thanks Speed :bigthumb: I got most of them figured out, just need to get some connectors >_< I was thinking of replacing all the ones on the engine harness with some of these.. https://www.wirecare.com/deutschdt.asp? ... Series=DTM and do a Mil Spec bulkhead connector on the firewall

m tr4nch - I've read your thread a couple times, it's definitely a good read  I've found spots on my car the look very similar to yours lol it's been a pain fixing. I now have to pull off the complete driver side frame rail to fix the toe boards and the rail..

The main thing that's holding me up is a new(corded) drill so I can drill out all the spot welds and a media blaster so I can blast the whole car lol

yeah i was looking at your car going "damn, i had to cut out some of those same spots" lol. the frame rails are a huge b****. well, the way i did them at least. and be careful where the sand/media goes. it will find it's way into everything trust me lol.

i'll definitely be keeping an eye on this thread.

Yeah it finds its way into everything lol, no worries though it's a lot easier then wire wheeling everything

Just landed an assistant manager job at dominos lol, I start monday, which means money for my car haha. And going to look at a civic hatch tomorrow(honda I know..atleast it's a bubble). It's cheap and I need a DD lol
