Pulled the tank. It actually looks good in there, lol.

I was expecting it to be bad, judging from the rest of the car.. I guess I'm just going to clean it up, re coat it, and still use it. If it was bad, I was going to cut the floor out, run a cell/external pump/AN lines all the way to the engine bay, which would be $5-600 to do the way I wanted, but since it's good I'll put the money towards something else for now and do that later on down the road.

Also, did I mention I love wiring?

Lookin' good! You're wire harness looks just like mine right now, haha! I love wiring too; I like the challenge I have with it. Glad to see your tank was clean, mine is gone now. I pick up my new fuel cell on Tuesday! So excited!! Moar pix!

Haha thanks, it is quiet a challenge but I love seeing the finished product, totally worth it

Nice bro, how are you going about mounting the cell?

And I'm just about done with the inside harness so I'll have some more pics up soon

well i plan to split up the harness in two sections and have basicly one harness on either side of the car for the body harness and then just tuck the engine harness as good as i can. i have an s14 so i have that big a** fuse box i have to get rid of. so im going to do a custom fuse box also. its going to be a big a** project.

Do you plan on having the fuse box inside or in the engine bay? You will probably have all the wiring you need left over if you put it inside

Please do a write-up on the interior cuz I got stuck with the gross brown and have been wanting to do suede even before I got my 240'. And it is cracked so bondo is gonna fill them cracks.

I'm diggin the build.

Just a question though, I agree those welds look nasty, and whoever did it didn't even bother cleaning up the slag :wtf2:
But I thought when welding the diff Flux was better since it penetrated more?

Not necessarily, depends on your technique and your equipment. It's definitely cleaner though to avoid flux-core!!!

I'll probably make a write up for the suede, I still need to finish a couple more pieces anyways

And yeah I shouldn't have a problem with the gas and penetration, and just like Speedeast said, definitely cleaner!

@ Midwest - Don't use bondo, if you're going to be covering it with something I would think an epoxy based glue will work a lot better for cracks, maybe a little more of a b**** to sand but will be stronger

Thanks to everyone for the comments, you guys are keeping me motivated! :gapteeth:

Oh and I had to put getting the engine on hold until next weekend

Thanks for the tip. This is my second car and I'm learning as I go. So far so good. lol My first car was a 1994 Saturn SC1. And it ran pretty good so I didn't have to worry about anything. Ur car is coming along nice. How close are you to setting that monster in the engine bay.

Well, I'm picking up the engine most likely this weekend, if everything goes as planned...I'm hoping to have it in the car with a couple months..still need to get a trans/clutch/flywheel and make mounts and fab up a set of headers etc so I got a bit more to do

Damn, I wish I could go all out like that. Mine is sitting in the garage wait for me to get a job to put the SR in there. My mommy is bitchin about it :argh lol. It runs but the auto transmission is bad. I put my master cylinder in there and my clutch pedal. I almost have enough saved but I didn't count in the fact that I gotta buy the IC piping and the better fuel pump.

omgshawn thanks ahead of time. I had an interview at Imo's yesterday, they called me today and asked me to come in tomorrow. So I will have money for my baby (240sx). I will be asking you for help if I need it. Should have the SR in a month.
