this past week i was on spring break and managed to get alot of work done even though there is not much to show - somehow the custom work always takes 100 times longer then it should lol

i pulled the motor back out and welded the mounts to the frame

it took all day but finally managed to get my radiator mounted - i had to cut out a bunch of the radiator support which i will have to reinforce and also i had to notch out my frame rails - the next pics show this

i originally had my intercooler hanging down below my bumper and when i lowered the truck i wanted it higher - but have since decided having the radiator is more important so i moved the intercooler back low - i will try to get some pics of that but im working on a trailblazer front end conversion and it looks like a mess so i didnt take any pics yet

also i got a Walbro 255L intank pump installed - it was a direct fit which was awesome

the company i got the manifold from is CXRacing - i got it off one of their eBay auctions- but the site is http://www.cxracing.com usually you can find the parts cheaper on their auctions - i know most people dont like eBay parts but i have had alot of luck with this company so far - i got my intercooler, piping, wastegate and manifold from them - the thing that made me try them was that they had an auction for intercooler piping that let you choose what size pipes, what bends, and what reducers you needed and it was 1/8" thick so it doesnt collapse like the cheap stuff

i bought one from xspower but with a t3/t4 turbo, the turbo is hitting the valve cover and some of the runner are blocking off the studs. It is so bad that u cannot put a nut on two of the studs. it will work if you are using a t3/t28/t25 turbo but it won't work on t3/t4 b/c of the bigger exhaust housing. but anyway, i'm just looking for something else. thanks for your help and i wish you g/l.

you prolly saw that my clearance between the compressor housing and valve cover is really close with this manifold, but it fits - i have a T3/T04E - and 2 of the manifold bolts i had to use a wrench b/c they were really close to the runners but to me thats not a big deal

well i finally have some more updated pictures - i have been busy lately with school -

Got my intercooler piping done

i have the upper wire harness in and so now it leaves me with a large mess of wires right by the steering wheel - i didnt want to extend the harness for the RB ECU so it will be mounted under the dash to the left of the steering wheel - there is just enough room for it

im making a jumper harness that will connect the power wires from the RB harness to the S10 harness that need power - this pic i have 1 end of the connector spliced to the RB harness - i just need to test the wires on the S10 harness before i splice the other end of the connector to the S10 harness

nice!! good to see you making progress, so when is your goal to hear it run? Also did you ever get a driveshaft yoke?

im not sure on when i will hear it run - i still have to finish wiring which shouldnt be too bad, hook up fuel lines, coolant lines to fire wall, find radiator hoses that have a similar bend to what i need, oil lines for the turbo, then oil filter, thermostat, probably forgetting something but you get the point - just a bunch of little stuff but i dont want to rush it and mess anything up

as for the drive shaft yoke i still need one - the person that sent me the wrong shaft wont respond to my emails now so i doubt i will get my money back

matafied - you said your yoke was a 28 spline with 2 keys, or missing splines right? does your output shaft on the transmission follow that pattern also? i was just wondering because i emailed the guy on ebay who has the yoke and he said it is a real RB25DET yoke and it is 28 splines with the 2 keys. my output shaft is just 30 splines and i know its the RB25DET transmission so i just thought that was odd that the yoke would have keys and the output shaft didn't

well it has 2 empty spots were a spline should be, so it basicaly has 30. so if it has 28 and two empty spots its good to go. my output shaft dose not have the notches like the yoke, it has 30 teeth like yours. i dont know why the yokes have them slots lol

well i got outbid on that yoke lol - but i went to a driveshaft shop and the guy i talked to was very helpful - he found me a yoke and i ordered it today - should be in early next week so when it comes in i will test fit it and measure what length shaft to have him make. If the yoke is correct i will post specifics on it for future reference

as for progress i have a few wire left to run and need to change the plugs, thermostat, oil filter, get oil and coolant, and just make sure all bolts are tight etc. but im planning on starting it this weekend!!!

Some good news and some not so good...

The yoke fits! Part number 3103-30 from Powertrain Industries in CA

unfortunately it didn't feel like starting ... it refused to crank so i jumped the starter and still nothing - took the starter apart and the armature was destroyed - so new starter should be here friday

IT STARTED

unfortunately its only running on 4 cylinders so it looks like i need a set of coils

ill try to get a video of it up soon but it sounds terrible considering it isnt running on all cylinders and has no downpipe yet

yeah i am pretty excited it started - i ran into a few problems like the started being bad - i put the new one on friday night and it cranked which was awesome, then the first try to start it it wouldnt fire - turned out the ground wire for the coils was bad so i ran a temporary one to make sure it worked before i take the harness apart to replace it the right way - anyway that was the problem and it fired up - so as soon as i get some more money i will replace the coils and get it running good

heres the videohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0s4yw9bLz0

That coil thread looks awesome. Great info in there. I never knew we could switch our coils out like that. Which helps me alot B/c Im having Missfire problems at Higher RPM's with 10lbs of boost now.

Dude, Your s-10 project is Awesome. Very good fabrication skills and Props for doing all the wiring. Wiring is the Biggest head ache of all. Keep up the good work.

THANKS!! to any and everyone who has commented or helped me so far - it was the best feeling ever to hear it fire up

so far i am pretty happy with the fab work but it needs a lot of cleaning up - i was more concerned with getting everything working before making it look good

and for the wiring................ that was a HUGE challenge - but im glad i tackled it - its nice to know i was able to do it

oh and i will be switching to the waste spark set up too - thanks for the link

i do have a question though - the two wire plug on the alternator - i searched and what i found so far is that one wire is for the light on the dash and the other is the signal for it to start charging - which one is which?

thanks again too all who have helped

If you need some coilpacks, I have like 10 sitting in my garage I could send you to get the car running!

I did the wasted spark setup on my rb20 and it turned out real well. I did it at the same time i did my fuel pump, and since pressure was so high, I was hitting 9.8:1 wot afr's... I would like to see stock coilpacks ignite that rich of a mixture.. it wont happen.

If you would like, you could send me your coilpack harness and I could wire it up for you with a relay to control voltage straight from the battery to ensure proper ignition power.

Ill check on the alt plug later when i can look at the fsm at home.
