haha yeah im going to pull the motor back to clean everything up but i still have plenty of fab work to get done first - as for the color im not saying im going to change it but its up in the air... lol

and as of tomorrow i should be towing the S10 from school back to my aprt so i can work on it some! somehow i managed to not make any money over winter break so im still in need of a wideband and steel braided oil lines before i do anymore tuning

well tax return came and so I finally got some new parts - - Innovate Motorsports wideband and LC-1 controller with gauge- Autometer Cobalt fuel gauge - tripple gauge pd for the A-pillar- New oil feed line and down pipe gasket are on the way

while i have been waiting for parts I did some more work on the front end - I already had the trailblazer headlights but i just made some cheap brackets to mount them to my existing radiator support - I got a trailblazer radiator support, headlight mounting panel, grill, and front bumper and here is the latest picture... its all test fittment but you get the idea of what it will look like with the addition of cutting the front bumper out for the intercooler

Wow you have alot of crazy fab work left to do to get that to fit right! Props on something new! I would put a support under that upper frnt cover, Trailblazers frnt covers always warp like yours is and it makes them look cheap... It bothers the crap out of me when i see them... you think GM would have done something to correct them!Good lick man! I dont know if this wa in there earlier but you should get some Trailblazer fender and cut the fronts off to graft into your s10 fenders, it will make it easier to get the gap right!

thanks man! - as for the trailblazer warping issue yeah it sucsk - there is a piece of plastic that is glued to the underside of the cover that comes off so they always need to be re-glued - i have one at work to put in but i just got it to this current stage last night - and i also do have the front edges of the fenders just didnt get to them yet

alright i would like some input on this please...

I just tried to adjust my TPS before i fired the truck up - i set it between .4 and .5V at closed throttle but then at WOT it only reads 4V. In order for it to read 4.5V at WOT it reads 1.1V at closed throttle

I would assume this means my TPS is bad, correct??

thanks for any input - in the mean time i will be getting the truck up to temperature and bleeding the coolant, making sure no leaks, etc..

Here is a quick update...

I got the wide band installed and started tuning a little. I got the warm up enrichment set and started to do adjust the VE table for free revving in neutral. I have not had any prior experience with tuning so it was pretty exciting for me

anyway its not suppose to rain the next couple of days so I am planning on getting the front end together enough so i can drive it. Then Friday I will hopefully be able to take it out for street tuning.

I MADE THE FIRST TEST DRIVE TONIGHT!!!!!!

My roommate and I drove around for a little while and started to get the fuel curve dialed in. I have to say it was probably the best night of my life! Anyway it felt pretty good, I didnt get on it very much since I still have lots of tuning to do. Im going to try to get some dyno time in the next couple weeks at school so i can really get it dialed in.

oh and the only bad thing that happened on the drive was my exhaust came off so Id say it was pretty successful...

Nice vid. That thing go's pretty good. I had a 93 s10 that i put a small block in and i smoked a 07 STI with a full TBE on a roll 3 times. S10's are the Shiitt. The Dime in my sig just has the 2.2 like yours did.

Thanks for the replies guys!

Well that video was from Last Thursday night - we took it out again Friday night and did more street tuning - now I have a decent VE table setup - I have it running too rich but the plan is to go back to school in Morrisville this Tuesday to do some dyno tuning. I should then have a safe tune on it to make the crazy 15 hour drive to Georgia for the Mega Squirt Meet!!

As for the exhaust it is a 2.75" which I made from a Silverado exhaust and I put a cheap Thrush Turbo muffler on it so I didnt piss off the neighbors while tuning - but I am putting a Corsa Muffler which also came off a Silverado on it this weekend so hopefully it will sound good

Well I'm heading to school tomorrow morning for some dyno tuning. I'm not really sure what to expect number wise but I think it would be reasonable to see mid to high 300s with the TO4E. Anyway wish me luck and hopefully I will have something exciting to post tomorrow night

I made it on the dyno today but tuning sure did turn out alot harder than I had expected.... My roomate and I spent alot of time doing steady state tuning trying to get the A/F ratios dialed in through each cell in the VE table. I have to give tuners alot of credit for what they do! Anyway we ran in to an issue with the wastegate sticking so i was not able to do full runs on the dyno for a while - once we had the wastegate working and started doing full runs we were out of time. I have to say I learned alot about tuning and have a much better tune on it now than i did yesterday so im 1 step closer.

Thats cool ur learning alot man. I know I have also learned alot working with the MS. What was ur final number before you had to quit? I also give Tuners props. It takes a pretty special skill to be a good tuner and alot of patience.

well it has been a while since i updated this so here we go

i have been slowly working on tuning with the mega squirt. i had i pretty well dialed in but my VE table only went up to 8psi so i have been working on a new table that goes up to 30psi. As of last night I turned the boost up for the first time to 15 and it spiked to 18 which maxed my injectors out. Im going to turn it down to around 12 for now until I can get new injectors and possibly a larger turbo. I have to say it felt awesome at 15 psi though

the only other update is i finally got my trailblazer hood mocked up and working! It was tons of work considering i had to make a hood frame out of an S10 hood frame and trailblazer frame - then make the trailblazer hood skin slightly smaller to fit

looking good man, how is your gearing? i got my 4.56 gears in my rearend and they are night and day difference. I have a torsen posi unit now that is going in this weekend, i'll post pics in my thread. I run 13psi right now on the stock injs and mine runs very nice. If you ever get a chance weigh your truck, please post the results up. i weighed mine and it was 3600lbs without me in it

my gearing is currently 3:73s in the back which make for some really long gears. Im not going to waste my time with the stock rearend because i don think it will handle the power im going to put to it. A guy i work with has an 8.5" rear end out of a 60s Nova so I think I will go with that and a locker, idk what the gearing is in that rear end though.

I weighed my truck 2 summers ago when I had the 2.2 turbo in it. The scale said 3200 with myself and my friend who weighs about 180. I dont know how accurate the scale was it was just he scale at a scrap metal yard. But with the RB and just me in the truck i figure it would be close to 3200.

That truck is so sweet man, I used to have a little 4 cyl s10, just a stocker. Always wanted to take an SR and put in it, or KA-T. lols.

I think the rb25 has the same gearing as the rb20, i was able to hit 82mph in second gear with the 373 i had in mine. The skylines came with a 4.11 gear stock with a much smaller tire than the s 10's come with stock. That is why i went with the 456 gear and my speedo is right on the money(skyline cluster) looks like your ic is close to the ground, how much clearance u have?

Logan76 - thanks man

i actually have about 5" of clearance with the ic - that pic is just deceiving.

anyway i turned the boost back down to 10 - it seems to be running well now. the only thing is my clutch also started to slip this week so it looks like i will be spending some money on injectors and a clutch this summer. Im not really sure what my T3TO4E is capable of, but it did feel good at 15 psi so i think i should be able to run 20psi on it once i do the injectors and clutch. Hoping that will put somewhere close to the 400hp range - any thoughts?

20psi on the t3/t4e should be well in to the 400hp range, i was running 25psi on my rb25 and it was insane! As for the clutch i actually bought a ebay clutch the xtd was about 130 shipped and it held all i threw at it. I just got the same clutch for the truck since mine didnt last long.

well its been a while since i updated.... I was planning on getting the new clutch and bigger injectors this summer however i came across a deal i couldnt pass up - an Isuzu Hombre which basically is an S10 from NC for $600 - its rust free and the body doesnt have any damage! anyway so I am currently in the process of getting it ready to swap the RB into. It will basically look the same as the S10 does now accept for a few changes....
