I like it now too. For a while there I hated this thing haha. Just got my alarm put on it yesterday too so now it has less of a chance of being stolen .

Be careful how high you take the revs for the first 1000 miles of a rebuilt engine. There's all kinds of methods to breaking it but I'm just giving you one advice.

I rebuilt my integra motor last year and it felt like forever to get 1000 miles on it.

Change the oil at 500 miles, and don't redline it, and don't go past 3000rpm's for the first 250miles iirce.

Again this is just a suggestion not something you have to follow.

I have been driving it real carefully. I've but about 350 on it I think.

Yea the papers that came with the motor said to let it idle for 4 hours before moving it or revving the engine, then change the oil and filter. Then for the first 1000 miles don't take it over 60mph. after the first 500 change the oil and filter, and at 1000 change the oil and filter..

4 HOURS?!?!?! damn son!

I let mine idle for about 15 minutes and then started driving that sucker around town.

3500+ miles later...runs like a champ!!

Haha I know 4 hours is a long time. We let it go for about 2 1/2-3 hours and then we took it out.

i had some pretty similar issues too. EXCEPT the issues were all my fault except one (a vaccuum hose wasnt on tight and it would idle fine and about 2 mins it would shut off. everything is fixed. just put in my stage2 clutch and now all i need is the fluids in it to get it going. the only thing keeping me from it is the phone bill

Thanks. Yea the engine swap wasn't too hard. Just pretty time consuming. We ran into a lot of little problems with it that took a lot of time to fix. Like we broke a bolt where the exhaust manifold connected to the collector, and couldn't find a stud to fit in the hole. Took us like 3 days.

Btw, what car were you riding in that was rhd? (Pic behind the tow truck)

AZ89two4Tsx wrote:I just don't like the staggered sizes. You should try and find an extra pair of rear sizes to put on the front. 962s can looks pretty badass when they're done right.

But that's my opinion. And I take back my statement, those do look better.

Well last night I pulled up to my house and heard a really loud clicking noise from the motor. Looked under the hood and at first I thought it was the fan hitting something but my dad noticed it was coming from the valve cover, all the way in the front. So this morning i pulled off the valve cover and this is what I found.

The top timing chain guide was completely broken off and just sitting on the chain. Luckily it didn't move around in there it just stayed there. But that could have been really bad.

Yea its the top one. I just took that one off for now because I didn't want to tear apart the front of the motor.

My car did this 2 weeks ago, the radiator cracked and all the water leaked out and the car overheated... Warped the head, blew the head gasket, but Im going SR now, so I dont really mind. I feel bad for all of you Californians... Just run an SR20de, non turbo with a stock looking exhaust. NA SR's are cool man, you can put cams in it and stuff, get some good hp...

Bought A Momo Monte Carlo 320mm steering wheel yesterday. Also a NRG Gen 2 quick release and NRG short hub. I had to order the short hub though. It probably won't be here until wednesday or thursday. I'll post pictures of it when I get it all installed.
