Can you please post a closer pic of the end of the crank that attaches to the flywheel? I am looking for the oil seal surface specifically.

Thats cool. It just looked like the crank had a good sized oil seal goove in it that could cause it to leak after u get it all put back together. There is a Speedi-Sleeve that u can get to solve the problem for cheap.

alright guys heres my update on the build. sorry for the lagg. let me know what you guys think.

also btw, does the clearance on the valve covers and the turbo with the 6boost manifold looks proper or normal? it sits really close. does anyone elses? its a t3 flange with the same gt3082r.

yeah same gt3082r. i went with an OEM non N1 oil pump. like you said, i wished i wouldve bought a better oil pump, but unfortunately, my funds are really low atm.

Looks great man!

Just curious, will that exhaust housing being that close damage your paint (powdercoat) on the valve cover? Would be a real shame.

Keep it up.

thanks man. well it sucks that i cant really do anything about it the ex housing. i emailed 6 boost to see what he would say, because im not not sure if i seen anyone on here with clearance isseues with the 6boost mani. but o well, funds hold me back and i cant do much now.

Did you see the turbo blanket group buy? Should solve your problems and keep underhood temps down.

IMO, I would want that turbo right where it is for extra space for plumbing.

yeah i was thinkin about it, but i honestly dont think it would fit in between the valve covers and housing. the gap is probably 1/4-1/2 inch. true about plumbing, but i hope my valve covers dont get burnt

Your build looks awesome! Thanks for posting the pics of the bolt end of the crank. It looks borderline and it might leak with a new seal on there. At this point you still may be able to get a speedi-sleeve on there. I think they're like $20 tops.

I am concerned with how close the exhaust housing sits to the valve cover. That paint is toast unless you ceramic coat and get the turbo blanket. I strongly recommend both because the ceramic coating will keep the heat from getting into the cast iron in the first place and the blanket is a physical barrier to the heat.

This also puts the source of heat that much closer to the coil packs, but that can be controlled by ceramic coating and putting a blanket on the turbo.

Keep the pics coming. It looks great!

More impressive!

Seriously, look into the turbo blanket. Did you powder-coat the lower timing cover? After seeing your engine pictures, it makes me wonder about the ALT bracket and PS pulley getting powder-coated now

Speaking of which, what 'color' powder did you use? a gloss black with heavy multi-colored flake?

Your build looks clean. Interested in seeing more of the car!

I wish I had spent some time detailing my engine, instead of focusing purely on function. Oh well. I guess that is what winter projects are for!
