Evan.. I hate you..240z4u wrote:Shiny slow cars are worthless Lonestar.. ask radianation on 240sxforums..
thanks thanks darius, one question though. did your 6boost mani sit that close? kyle from 6boost told me itscloser than usual =/ im saddddd. ill keep u guys posted. andbtw i really want the blanket but at the same time i dont wanna be stuck with it if it doesnt fit =(Darius wrote:Your build looks awesome! Thanks for posting the pics of the bolt end of the crank. It looks borderline and it might leak with a new seal on there. At this point you still may be able to get a speedi-sleeve on there. I think they're like $20 tops.
I am concerned with how close the exhaust housing sits to the valve cover. That paint is toast unless you ceramic coat and get the turbo blanket. I strongly recommend both because the ceramic coating will keep the heat from getting into the cast iron in the first place and the blanket is a physical barrier to the heat.
This also puts the source of heat that much closer to the coil packs, but that can be controlled by ceramic coating and putting a blanket on the turbo.
Keep the pics coming. It looks great!

Seriously, look into the turbo blanket. Did you powder-coat the lower timing cover? After seeing your engine pictures, it makes me wonder about the ALT bracket and PS pulley getting powder-coated now
Speaking of which, what 'color' powder did you use? a gloss black with heavy multi-colored flake?
Your build looks clean. Interested in seeing more of the car!
I wish I had spent some time detailing my engine, instead of focusing purely on function. Oh well. I guess that is what winter projects are for!
thanks a million man, the powder coat color i used was laser black mettalic pearl with extra gloss. i really need the blanket but like i posted previously i dont think it would fit =/ that housing is a fatty.l0nestar wrote:More impressive!

Nah, I certainly don't dislike someone because of a situation that they are in. It just seemed appropriate.otightitzjim wrote:
hahah i didnt really lik the guy huh? i read old thread with u and him with his build. im not trying to talk mess but he was kinda weird with it
If you look at the pics in my winter project thread, you'll see that I have oodles of room between the valve cover and turbo housing. I have the forward-positioned manifold with divorced T4 flange that can fit large frame turbos on it. Isn't that a T3 flange on yours? Seems like that turbo has one helluva large exhaust housing.otightitzjim wrote:

ahh got cha. mine is a t3 flange, but your right about the ex housing. i hope it does me good in the top end =) thanks for the tipsDarius wrote:

If worse comes to worst, get the flange cut off and rewelded on at a flatter angle.
Where are they located? I think you have said it before, but I can't remember.mattblancarte wrote:G-Dimensions did my rb26 swap. I called them to bug about making my oil system safer, and they actually took a few moments to speak with me.
G-DIMENSION is located in California, in Azuza. or Hacienda Heights? Google their site you'll see itRBFAN wrote:

Yeah, for sure. Luckily, I didn't have to wait for the swap to be done, I bought it after they had done it for the previous owner. I just had to add a few bits here and there to ensure reliability, and I was rollin'.otightitzjim wrote:

It's snuggled away in the garage away from the -25* windchill weather we're having. I am also keeping high and tight indoors because I refuse to try to keep the garage warm in these conditions. Total waste of kerosene.otightitzjim wrote:thanks darius. how your car man?
