Regardless of whether it's a majority of voters who gets their morals pushed upon society or a benevolent dictator, it's still morality being forced upon people. You can't get away from that. There's no "test" if you participate in the system. Your vote is your attempt to have your morals pushed upon others. You may acknowledge that's it a pretty futile attempt, given all the other people vying to get their morals pushed, it's still an attempt.

Maybe you're just adding noise to the argument, but some of us are capable of talking substantively about issues that don't directly affect us. I mean, I don't know that I've ever had to deal with acid rain, or if I would, given my geographical location, but I can certainly debate the merits of Cap & Trade regulation.

Given your desire not to argue for others' rights since they don't directly affect you, I must thank you for helping prove my original statement above. If you only concern yourself with what benefits or harms you directly and avoid anything that may affect other people, that sounds pretty selfish to me.

Well, I will certainly be the first to admit that the majority of my posts are purely for my own enjoyment and do not hold beneficial information. But if you want to browse through all of them to find the nuggets of good info, be my guest. I'll give you some advice though, I may be on a auto enthusiast forum, but my focus is generally on A/V equipment (both mobile and home). So if you are interested in finding my useful posts, I would start there (particularly in the Altima Coupe section in the A/V subforum). Here, I'll give you a head start.

That was the first thread that came to mind when you asked. Other than that, I don't keep track of my helpful posts as I can't think of a situation where I'd need to prove myself.
