we got 31 inches here in silver spring, MD. took me hours to dig out my car....

we lost power and the house was frigid plus the stove is electric so my boyfriend had to dig a path to the grill so we could grill some eggs. lol.

We got 28" on Saturday and now they are calling for another 2' in some locations for Wed. where the F do you put 4' of snow? Especially when you live in the city, it's not like we can shovel it into our yard, we don't have yards, just sidewalks and stoops.

Institute a city-wide MANDATORY 8' snowman in each yard.

I hate it for you guys. If I could send you some sunshine I would. I wonder how bad the flooding is gonna be when it starts melting?

Its generally a 10:1 ratio when converting snow to rain, but this stuff is a little bit heavier, so maybe 8:1?

Still, that's 3 inches of rain.

As promised here are pics from NE Philly... Sorry, most of the pics are of the gimungous ice sickles hanging off our house.

The S14 is buried in front of the red escort wagon (GF's car), this was after we dug out.

Have people started trying to "hold" their (cleared) parking spots by putting chairs and such in them? I recall some serious fights between people who had cleared a spot, ran to the store only to find someone parked in it when they got back.

The last snowstorm we had, I was cleaning off three spots at my friends house and this guy who lives down the street just pulled into one of the spots. I had the shovel in hand and everything. He says to me "this is my spot". I said, "I just cleaned it off so my friend could park HERE IN FRONT OF HIS HOUSE." The guy rolls up his window and attempts to leave. I standby the car door and give douchebag a earful: "Mr, what kind of as$hole pulls into a spot being cleared by someone else right as they are clearing it out? And It's not even in front of their house?" I told him to buy a shovel and get to business then. He finally left and parked in front of his house. Now, all this and he was driving a car with optional AWD.

Here's an eye-opening statistic for you...

Most snowfall in one year. 1140 inchesMt. Baker Ski Resort in Washington State. Winter 1998 - 1999

That would be 95 feet of snow. YES 95 FEET!!!

Not irrelevant, he should have and had the ability to park on the the few inches of snow in front of his house's spot...

idk about you, but i don't enjoy stepping out of my car into a few inches of snow. drivetrain has nothing to do with desire to park in a snow free spot.

I'm so happy it snowed a lot. Since my dad has a snow plow on his truck, he has a contract with a company to plow apartment complexes and other neighborhoods. He also has to shovel the sidewalks, so he brings me and 2 other guys to help out. This is how it went down:

Started working at 10:30pm on 2/5. Didn't stop til 12:30pm on 2/6. Took a lunch and slept. Started working again at 8pm on 2/6 and worked til 2am on 2/7. Went to bed at 3am and woke up at 5am to go back to work. Started at 7am on 2/7 and didnt stop working til 1am today. All this getting paid $15 an hour.
