That's because the idiots they hire don't know how to plow snow properly... The plows are only rated for MAX 10MPH. an these idiots are going 15 and 20 MPH!!! OF COURSE the bottom lip is gonna break when you go twice the rated speed... Also, the mechanics are using the wrong type of hydraulic fluid in the cylinders and pumps!! We had a plow blow it's pump because of these idiots, and it was obvious they didn't use the correct stuff because it was all yellow when it should have been the low-temp blue stuff. *sigh*audtatious wrote:I just read a news report that stated 25% of the snow plows in DC are down and waiting for parts so they won't be available to keep up with the snow.
I don't see how driving a truck around a street all day can be called "exhausting".audtatious wrote:There are also issues with the plow crews being exhausted as they have been constantly working since Friday.....
I can sum it up in one word...WAH, (just kidding). Actually it's getting serious out there. I just saw on the news Philly is closing down 3 major roads in a few minutes: The Schuykill (I76), the Blue route (I476) and the The Vine (I676). Not pretty out there this afternoon.Chaotic_Warlord wrote:So we're apparently in for another 2 feet by the end of this early tomorrow morning and word is that we have one of similar size and strength that's set to hit us late Monday night. If I wanted to deal with lake effect snow I'd live in Syracuse or Buffalo.
Not knee deep, it was nearly knee deep in certain sections where we shoveled two nights before when this whole blizzard kicked off. It averaged high calve deep.RCA wrote:
OMG you have no idea how hard I laughed at that. You definitely do sound like Rogan
Also that snow doesn't look like it's knee deep, unless your buddy at the end of the video is Yao Ming.
The commentary was funny. I especially liked "Shut the f*** up, I'm a trailblazer!!!"RCA wrote:

That is pretty sweet!Chaotic_Warlord wrote:One of the local car photographers posted this on his Facebook today, figured you guys would get a laugh out of it...
Well we all have different schedules. Some of us have school w/ grave yard shift jobs, some have 9-5 and some of us just have school (me) so we do it this way so we all do our part. Also with 2+ feet of snow, it just gets over whelming. It makes it difficult to continue to shovel when after 3 hours of work your still looking at 100 cubic feet of snow left.Dattebayo wrote:You guys could have saved some time and shoveled all at once...
Cant say I recall that storm, I'm relatively new to the beltway (moved here two years ago). In 2k5 I was living in Germany.Dattebayo wrote:We have one, but i broke it 2 days ago on the ice that was stuck to the road in the gutter...
It's a $50 shovel for crying out loud! :mad I don't even remember where we got it cause I bought it way back in 2005 for that horrible ice storm we had then.
lol... I didn't bring the one that was in my car back, but I shipped two back to my storage facility in Cali (both have spun bearings and no accessories, just longblocks with intake manif). I stockpiled the things while there cause the kids on base kept blowing them up or stuffing their cars by driving like nuts in the snow. I could get them for as cheap as 200 bucks a pop sometimes because they just wanted to get rid of the car.Dattebayo wrote:You should have brought that CA back with you.
Why waste your time?Dattebayo wrote:You should have brought that CA back with you.
