I couldn't find anything to support your statement other than it says D2 on the cars. Which I vaguely remember being a communications company in Germany.

Ironic that even in the racing section of their website they don't list anything about DTM racing. You'd think that with spending no doubtingly tons of money on advertising they would at least mention it. They also have no office in Germany. With the company supplying that many German racing teams you'd think they would have an office in Germany. I suppose they supply all of the DTM Mercedes-Benz cars without even having their own dampers available for any MB car? The only German makes they list are VW and the Opel (which is limited to only the Corsa, not the Calibra, Astra, or Vectra).

http://us1.webpublications.com...g.jpg

Look on this Opel (I know it's not a MB), notice the 2 dominate companies that supply the suspension components. Weltmeister and H&R.

Therefor I can deduce from my experience that you might be confusing two different companies as the same.

well, I asked this to D2 taiwan:

Who is your distributor in japan, and under what brand name do you carry your coilovers?

and this was the answer:

Dear Sir: Thank you for your e-mail. In fact, we do not have distributor in Japan so far, but we have distributors in Hong Kong, China, Macau, Singapore and Thailand. We will be very happy if there is any one who would like to be one of our distributor in the would. Our own trade mark is D2 coilover, and another is K-Sport. Best Regards FuBu Auto Parts CompanyD2 Racing Sport Company

so I guess they are legit...still, i'm still like 200 bux short..

Notice the logo also shares the name Mannesmann which is a sister company of Vodafone in Germany, which has a service aptly named.... Vodafone D2.

In fact, notice in this picture the D2 logo (which the D2 company in Taiwan STOLE from Vodafone)

whats vodafone? and who are you to point fingers? i know your admin and all but wheres proof that D2 suspension company stole their logo from D2 vodafone?

if the logo was stolen, that copyright violations...i dont think such a big company would make a minor and stupid mistake

Yes, yes it is and yes they do.

Believe me ... Vodafone > D2 ... they are a HUGE communications company in Europe.

The proof is in looking at the actual logos... the only difference is that Vodafone's is blue where as D2's is black.

I'm not an admin and don't get personal.

ACTUALLY THE D2 SUSPENSIONS ARE USED ON THOSE CARS. I THINK YOU ARE LOOKING AT THE SILVER MERCEDES RIGHT? THATS NOT TEAM AMG, THEY HAVE THE BLACK MERCEDES C-CLASS AND THE SILVER PROTOTYPE OF THE LEMANS. THE TEAMS DON'T HAVE THE FULL LOGOS..... AND ITS NOT COPYRIGHTED OUTSIDE OF THE COUNTRY/NATION YOUR IN.

You have nothing to support your arguement... not even a website stating that the suspension is used on the AMG cars.

I find it very odd that a DTM race car would contract it's suspension from a Taiwanese company that hasn't even been estabolished in Japan's (it's neighboring country) GT series of racing.

They also don't even list a suspension component made for a Mercedes... kinda odd that they would go through all the trouble to design the suspension and not release a line for the vehicle when most of the work has been done.

German companies for the most part contract most of their work from withen Europe and the Middle East, especially most of the suspension components, most of which are Koni's like the ones found on the Porsche 944 S2's.

Till you have supporting evidence I have to call BS on this one... it's just too much of a longshot to believe. Especially when the manufacturing company has absolutely no mention of DTM in it's website.

My dad has done work with vodafone. they're one of the largest Phone companys from the UK to New Zeland. In Germany they are knowen as Vodafone D2. They sponsor DTM and F-1 racing. All the D2 you see on german cars is Vodafone. here is there sports sponsors page Vodafone D2 Sports .

so let's see, how do we know d2 (suspension) is reputable then?

and if D2 taiwan was sponsoring AMG (a german company?) why is it that they haven't been sued by vodafone on copyright infringement?

5+ years, but that's only how long they've been on the market...

copy pasted from website:

Well Established in 1997. D2 is not only specialized in manufacturing shock absorbers for auto motives modifcation kits and also provides all-kinds of shock absorbers for customers.

D2 racing teams are around the world in Thailand, Taiwan, and China.

We also have branch in Hong Kong, China, Macau, Singapore, Thailand, and New Zealand.

All our Products are tested by our instrument and professional racing teams to meet our high standard qualities and reliablities before they are sold.

We truly welcome customers to become our distributors in any regions.

NO german or european Base, or mention thereofand notice none of their sponsored cars in their photo gallery found here: http://www.d2racing.com.tw/racing-team.htm have any of these "lemans" cars you talk about. Wouldn't that be a big no-no marketing move?

The more I look at it, the more I see that this company stole a big company's logo/name to confuse some car enthusiasts thinking they were getting good german products. Kinda like the SORNY or KERNWOOD you see around many places.

what do you think of the tein type basic,...it's pretty cheap price but not as versatile i guess. I guess they'd beat agx+whiteline springs no?

I'd save for the HE's or HA's ... much better than the basic.

The basic's are better than any spring/shock combo due to the longer travel. I would save for HA's with top plates or Flex's. I think HE's are to harsh for the street. A buddy has them in a s13 and it's ruff going over ripples and cracks in the road. My *** still hurts from a pothole.

HKS dampers kinda suck IMO... everyone I've known to ever get them traded them off and the cars I've driven on with them just don't feel right.

the HKS coilovers go for around $2,000+. They are real nice. I like the Performer for street use. Most sell the Hypermax II that are almost as stiff as the D'. The dampers are better then tein. the use a 4 chamber design vs 3.

One nice thing about the HKS and all good brands is that you can rebuild them.

The HKS dampers are a little different for most people. Once you get used to it they are easier to lay into on the track. I wouldn't get them for daly use. I love my Teins.
