I'm new here guys/gals. A few weeks ago, bought a '95 240sx w/82K miles on it. The body is in rough shape, dents and scratches here and there, but that'll get taken cared of later. Suspension and engine is STOCK for now.I already have a s14 sr20det swap planned, so I'll need to sell the KA24DE engine. If anyone wants to buy it, let me know so you can go for a ride before I yank the engine out, therefore you'll know it runs well.

If you have parts for sale either for the car or for the s14 sr20det, let me know.

See you guys/gals around.

i'm interested in the ka motor, so let me know if you do plan on selling it.

Hello NICO,

Checking in, Mandan/Bismarck North Dakota, Hello ALL!!

I bought a 1989 240sx from a buddy and drove it for about 2 days with a nasty knock so I decided to pull the oil pan off and WOW, there was about 1/2 cup of metal/bearings in the pan. I then took 2 of the rod caps off and found that the rod bearings are spun and paper thin so I pulled the engine and took the main girdle off to find NO CRANK BEARINGS AT ALL and the crank bearing tang smashed into the crank. I am wondering if anybody has an old Block/Crank lying around that they want to get rid of. I live in Bismarck North Dakota so preferably something in ND, SD, or MN would be best, Thanks NICO

youre really best to get another E in that situation.

i can tell you arent planning on staying with the e (a guy actually just released the kit to put a VG30DETT in s13s, search and you'll find it here) so there is no reason to swap to the DE incase you go that route.

but new bearings cost more than 200 dollars, and those internals and all the works its gonna take to refreshen that motor is going to cost WAY more than you should be paying. you could just throw another e in there for 200 dollars or under. so check out a junk yard, sorry if you dont care, its just a suggestion

thats what I would like to get is another E and boost it for now until I can save some $$$$to buy a VG30DETT

and the kit that you mentioned... thats for single turbo VG30DETT conversion only isnt it?

My s13 with rb20 swap should be up and running in 3 months. Caged trucked and ready for next years drift season. I have bunch of stuff to do to engine but should have in and running in 2 months. Tuned in 3 I hope. Looking for responsive/torky 300hp and a stiff chassis. On other note my rb26 lower end is done for the most part. Now I just have to build all the dry sump part and build the head. I want to make my own engine mounts and redo the firewall of my s14 at the same time. Then I can mount the engine back 2-4 more inches. The car is still ages from being done but should be running in a year or two. I still need to redo all the rear and front suspension arms. I want this car to hold 700. It will take lots of work. In the end it will be a time attack\drift\drag car. Once I get the s13 done it will be fs this spring. Just thought I would update

Checking in... I guess. Live on Minneapolis/St. Paul border right off of university and hwy 280. Pretty sweet location... Working on buying a 300zx at the moment as I finish up highschool and get my lazy *** a job. . with the 300zx i first plan to remedy any BS caused by the previous owner, and of course replace the timing belt immediatley as well as flushing all fluids and systems. after that comes rebuilding the brakes and installing new hydraulic lines and good pads. then comes bolt ons and suspension, then turbo work/intercooler work. I'll make a thread on it when i buy the car, i have my eyes on a rare-ish two tone black/gold 85 turbo with a shot auto tranny, so in that case replacing the tranny with a manual is first. Who else lives in the twin cities? i'll be needing some help periodically...

welcome to NICO.I almost bought a 300zx back when I was in college- an 89 I think I looked at. Nice car, but I didn't quite fit right. good luck with the project.

I would buy both immediatley, a 240 and a Z, but I only have space for one more car right now. I'm buying the 300zx first because they're much cheaper for the shape they're in. also they're much less popular with kids my age who just beat the **** out of them, so its easier to find a nice Z for the money. I should be going out to look at one sometime soon, its a black/gold 86 turbo with a shot auto tranny, so i need to convert it with a good manual first thing. i'll make a thread when i start the process if i indeed buy that car. Also if anyone sees a 240 in the area worth my attention please let me know.

I saw a tan/champagne S14 on 169 around fleet farm. I'm wondering if that belongs to anyone here. It was pretty loud and rocked a KA, as far as I know.

I think I've met him. This weather sucks. I think next weekend will be best. Hopefully, I won't have any problems taking the car out (need to get it into the body shop for some long overdue repair).Keep up the chatter, we'll figure out a good meet spot and time.

Yeah this weather really does suck. I couldn't believe we went back to 30's and snow but when you guys decide on a meet I'll see if I can make it out and check out your cars, even though I won't have my own yet. Still looking for a Z/240 under 2k, so if anyone sees anything, please let me know.
