I've never heard anything bad about RSmotors swaps- and they are pretty close to you too, so that's a bonus. That's is if you don't take sieways=smiles offer of assistance.

yea i talked to ron from there today he qouted me $600 for labor and he said he'll sell me a manual tranny minus the clutch flywheel for 300 i dont know if that includes everything that is needed to do the swap such as master and slave cylinder, bolts clutch pedal,so im guessing he wants around $1100-1200 for parts and labor that seems kinda steep to me. than i got a second qoute for a SR blacktop swap including the manual swap at a rough $4700 including parts and labor which seems really steep to me, let me know what u guys think i should do my ka24de still has plenty of life left in it its only got like 101k miles on it.

Ide say, until your ready to do the swap yourself, just have a manual trans put in and drive it till your ready for more power,

If anyone is interested, there is a car meet Tuesday afternoon, its gonna be at the Home Depot in the Village shopping center off Lexignton Ave in Lino Lakes, Ill be showing up around 6:30, hopfull there will be a good turnout, its supposed to be warmer tomorow (hopefully) and Id love to see more than just turbo civics. Id really like to meet some of you guys

Unfortunately, I'm in rehearsals for my show which opens next Friday, so I can't do weekday meets until after the 22nd.However, if people are interested, I'd be up for meeting sometime this weekend. I live in uptown, but have family in IGH, so I'm okay with driving toward St Paul (I'm that much closer to niece and nephew for before or after).

i dont think youre gonna get an MT swap for under 1500 with labor. I have the complete swap and i wouldnt do it for anything less than that.

buying a complete swap yourself should cost around 500 around here. elsewhere they ask for a lot more.

if youre in Apple Valley find John Haley Motorsports. i havent been to his new shop yet.

i might have two MT swaps... but im stockpiling

which means that most lakes will be crowded, although they are nice meeting spots. What's somewhere that's pretty central, and has plenty of space?I suppose I'm open to the midway strip...Lake Calhoun may have some free space if we hit it early enough.Who's got other ideas? Restaurants with plenty o' parking?

Since I'm lame and can come up with no better ideas, I'll head over to the south parking lot at lake Calhoun on sunday @noon. I don't check emails on weekends usually, so if someone's got better ideas, DJ or Sideways need to call me so I don't look as lame as I really am.red s13 hatch

I couldn't believe we went back to 30's and snow but when you guys decide on a meet I'll see if I can make it out and check out your cars, even though I won't have my own yet. Still looking for a Z/240 under 2k, so if anyone sees anything, please let me know.
Get one from Cali and have it shipped back. You can pick-up a completely clean S13 for about $1700 and have it shipped back for about $700 more.

I pulled this from the MN sport compact forum and thought I'd spread the word. I'll be out there for part of the time with my red s13 hatch (with black pop-up lids- let's get a NICO contingency going!

-It's that time of year again folks! Sure the weather may be dismal outside now, but come May the temps will be where they should be and the sun will be shining. Time to get the summer tires on and stuff ourselves silly with great food.

This year our spring opener will be held on May 12th from 12-5 at Clifton French Regional Park in Plymouth, MN. It's about as centrally located as we can get, so this should be much easier for everyone to get to. No more driving out to Maple Grove. (Click the link above for directions).

We have the Moraine Pavilion reserved, complete with our own private parking lot. There will be plenty of room for bocce ball or to throw the football around, and of course plenty of places to eat. We will be giving away prizes and talking about the upcoming race and show seasons.

If you're planning on attending, let us know. While we obviously always have plenty of food, it's good to have a rough idea of how many folks are coming.

On a side note, absolutely no a$$-ery will be tolerated. If you're going to come and do a burnout, speed through the lot, or squeal your tires then please do not come. Finding a location that would hold the number of people we have was very difficult and we do not want to compromise the ability for us to have future meets at this location. You WILL be asked to leave if you misbehave, and park police will be patrolling the area, so please behave yourselves. I realize this doesn't apply to 99% of you, but to the 1% it does apply to, please take notice.-

^^^ that's why we need a NICO contingency- so that I don't get dragged down with those losers... Actually, I'm piggy-backing on them since we can't seem to get more than 4 people together at any one time from the NICO boards- It'd be nice to hang out with lots of car-people.As far as Midway goes- I'd be up for it, but these next 2 weekends I wouldn't be able to show up until after 11pm- I have shows Thurs- Sat nights.

I hear they may have free food. I'll probably just go there to snack on their food and such. Then I'll bail after I'm there for a bit. I don't think there are going to be many nissans at the meet. I'm down for a NICO elitist area, haha. We may need a banner or something for the added effect.

I think they were asking for $5 donation for food, which I think is reasonable.NICO elitists unite! I'll see if I can find the time to put together a small sign for us.

I'm just a bit worried about parking in that lot. I don't want to be surrounded by nothing but Hondas.

Hopefully there will be a good mix of cars- I've seen a good following of subies on that forum. But hey, we can meet up and if its a drag, we can cruise out. Or we can meet up at an earlier time and caravan together.

I don't think the meet will be bad enough to just flat-out leave, but I couldn't say for sure yet. I just hope it won't be too difficult to find a nissan crowd in there. I hear they had over 400 cars last year.

That's why I think we should get a crew together and roll in posse-style (did I really just type that out? That sounded lame)Seriously though, we should meet up somewhere beforehand and caravan to the park so that we can make sure we are located in the same area. So we need to find a location that is on the way- I'll probably cruise out there this weekend and scout out possible meeting places.

Sure, we could definetely cruise into the meet together. That would guarantee us spots by eachother. The park is about 20 minutes from Anoka, which is where I live. I'll probably end-up down there at around 1pm or so.

Ha, That's funny, but only if we refer to all the Honda owners from now on as "sheep"
