How are you fellas doing? Just bought my 04' I35. The car is beautiful and runs great, but it has a loud idling noise when the car is sitting. It almost sounds like a chugging noise that cheap ford's make.Plus, there is what looks like smoke coming out of the exhaust. I really can't tell if it is smoke or not, because of the colder weather we are having. All I know is - other cars are not smoking as much as mine does.

I'd appreciate any help you guys can offer. Thanks.

p.s I bought extra warranty by infiniti, the 36k miles/ 3 year, bumper to bumper coverage. Does any know if I am covered for the repair job on my car?

Hay ya...1993 Maxima SE 190 HP, White, second owner with 97k. Interior looks brand new.

Current Issues:1. Bose radio comes on once in a while. Currently stopped working for the last 2 weeks. All of the radios buttons are lit up, but no station is showing on the display? 2.This is a tit-tit-tit noise from the right side-A local independent Nissan garage tells me not to worry, just a few springs in the lifter area need replaced. He said that the noise is a non-issue and not to worry as there is no damage to the engine. But if I want to repair it, would run around $900, but again, he said I don't have to. He has been the mechanic onthis car since it was purchased new in 1993. The noise goes away after about a wile. The local Nissan dealership is saying that my oil pump/sending unit?? is bad and that it would around $1900 to repair/replace. Any thoughts on the matter from your end? Any info would be greatly appreciated. This Maxima is amazing-Drives like it is new. Quick!!! I keep the switch in the power mode as I understand it firms up the suspension for a sportier ride. I got rid of my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee and drive this Maxima full time and totally dig it!!! Thanks for the forum. A great place for Maxima info. LJ

Hello, I am a dyed in the wool maxima fan, and have been since buying my first one, a 1985 SE 5 speed that I drove for over 350,000 miles over a 13 year period. i was initially afraid of front wheel drive cars, as i had lived through two of the chrysler product K-cars,a nd they were nigh mares. Anyway, after to a few months of my 150 mile a day commute, the Max was getting over 30 miles per gallon, would outperform just about 90% of the stuff on the road at that time, and got me through some really heave snowfalls, i became convinced that the Japanese were on to something. Leter on, I put my wife in an 88 max 5 speed,and she drove it for years until the rust got dangerous. We now drive 96 Infinitis, hers is the automatic. I searched and searched to find my 96 I 30t with the 5 speed. found a one-owner car with some rust issues and quickly fixed them better than new. Wow! What a car. Last of the 3 litre VQ models with the chain drive overhead cams. I will drive her for a long time and will eventually step up to a 2001 or so, or get my dream car: a G-35 with manual trans if my fortunes change for the better. 5 owners.
