Maxima/I30/I35 owners, check in....

2001 Maxima GXE, Merlot color, auto,80000 miles, Pigeon Forge, TN

Have had a problem with Service Engine Soon(SES) light for about the last six months. Nissan service replaced the Air Flow Meter because of skipping and poor gas mileage. Fixed the problem with the skipping and mileage, but the light came back on after about a month. Took back to Nissan and they said that it is a possible faulty O2 sensor and not to do any thing about it unless skipping or low mileage comes back. They could not really find the problem. Have driven about 1000 miles with the light on with no problems.

Please advise:What can I do to make the SES light go off? It bugs the heck out of me.Should I trust that it is just a faulty o2 sensor or should I seek more help?

Whats up guys and girls, men and women? After a desperate search for a temporary car so I can drive to work (my wife's camry died so she drives my tacoma to school), I went to the Benton County (NWA Arkansas) car auction and won a 1996 Nissan Maxima for $1000; black, cloth interior, 5spd.. It is quite beat up. Front bumper drags on the ground, top of the car has dent right above the windsheild, dents and dings around the body, crack bumper on the back, interior in the front is torned a little, odometer doesn't run (dead at 133,999 with 0000 on the trip meter), cracked radiator with CEL on (codes P0115 and P0125), heater core is probably busted because i can smell coolant very strong with heater blasted, and who knows what else is wrong.

Just wanted to say whats up and I hope to find a lot of useful information and to contribute and share my nissan experience also.

There's no special trim or anything like that. I mean I bought it out of the paper and I just wanted something to get around in and wasn't sure about getting an import. BUT after about 15 minutes I fell in love with this car and I'm amazed on how much raw POWER, speed, and handling she has.

My previous car was a 93 Beretta GT "Retta" as I liked to call her did in fact on several occasions! Lay down rubber 1/2 across a standard mid sized American intersection to any Maxima who dare to roll up @ a red light next to her. The previous owner did something to her because she would "hesitate" with regular gas. But just like all Chevy's she died without honor on my way home from work, right in the middle of an intersection. (TOD Jan 14 @ 12:06am on St. Paul & Upper Falls, Rochester, NY)
