Hey folks, just wanted to check in with the info on my newly acquired car. It was my wife's grandmother's car- god rest her soul. I hadn't planned on owning oa a Maxima but circumstances arose and now we have it. Its a 2000 Maxima GLE automatic transmission with 17k when we got it last summer. It wasn't driven much as you can tell by the miles on it. The tires are actually dry rotted and I need to replace them. The car currently has 16in alloys wheels but since I have to replace the tires, I've thought of replacing the wheels too. I've been looking through the posts but haven't quite figured out the sizing and such that I can do . I was thinking of putting bigger wheels- like 17in or 18in, but didn't know how to accomodate in tire size. In addition, I'm not looking to modify suspensions or wheel wells.. but just looking for a 'meatier' stance from a bigger wheel.

Oh well.. more reading to do...

David checkin in from Columbia, Missouri. I just purchased my metalic '02 Maxima SE a month ago. I looked long and hard to find one with a 6-speed. Its stock so far besides the stereo. I have MB Quart Q-Line 6 3/4" components in the front and the Premium Line components in the rear. I have a Planet Audio 4004 running the mids and a Planet Audio 1400D on two Rockford Power T1 12s. Powered with 1/0 gauge wire, 200amp breaker, and a 5 farad Alumapro cap. I will be re-tinting the car in 20% and using Cascade sound deadening throughout the car as I get time this spring. And I plan to throw my Konig Unknown 18s on soon as well. Anyway enough for now Ill try to get some pictures up soon.

Any recommendations for a remote starter for the 2007 Maxima, dealer tried an Audiovox unit but had mixed results because of the Intelligent Key system. Surely someone has successfully installed a remote starter with the Intelligent Key system on the 2007 Maxima. Appreciate your comments.

New Member, 1996 I30 black, working on the engine and Exaust, with Interior mods. New CD player, Cd changer, Subs. Wipe the leather down (all the good stuff)

it has 123,000 miles and a trip to California, and back to KY. Still runs as good as the day I bought it!

any suggestions to boost the HP?
