For a full set of rotors, pads, and SS lines, I dropped $400 shipped. Getting the black rotors was about $40 bucks more than the regular silver zinc coating.

Mark, the track was awesome last night. With the rain in the area, everyone must have thought they were going to close. We all got out there around 6:30...hardley a soul was there. We stayed till about 8:00, and I managed to get in 9 runs.

As for the brakes, my understanding has always been that the front brakes do the majority of work. I don't think that one side should be worn more than another.

No, that is not true by any means. The reason for that is the very poor design of the rear calipers on the 95-2001 maximas. The rubber boot/seal that guides the piston in and out of the caliper gets easily wedged between the piston and the caliper, causing the caliper to get stuck and not work properly. Brake bias on the maxima 95-01 is, I believe, 70/30 f/r.

yeah i figured it wasnt true. is there anything that i can do to try to remedy that problem when i put the new rotors and pads on. do you think that its possible that it could be the e-brake not fully disengaging as well sometimes?

Thanks again for the ride last night. It was pretty cool. Maybe I'll take my car to OVIS and we'll see what happens from there.

Drew: Sorry I didn't get to talk to you much, they were hurding us through like cattle. You seem like a good guy (no altezza'a and no rediculous wings...lol)...welcome to the family. Now drop that sucka and pull off that pin stripe. Just messin with you...do YOUR car up how YOU want it, but we'll always be here with our opinions, if you need us.

Mark: be sure to sheck the caliper and pad alignment when you're putting on the new brake system. Look to see if one end of the caliper or pad is ****ed in. If your caliper is off...you'll most likely need a new one. If it's just the pad, the pad could have gotten lose from the pad hardware/shims (if applicable to 5th gen) and just worn one side faster. Definitely check te e-bake mechanism to make sure it operates freely. Just shout when you want to check it out...always happy to help.

For anyone interested in going to OVIS/hanging out with the local Nissan 502 crowd: we are meeting at the track at Saturday at 2:00pm...I believe we are going to try to get a few pit lanes held for our own crowd.

Mark: If you don't get new hardware, make sure you clean the shims(guides) thoroughly with degreaser and a stainless steel brush.

I wish I could go to OVIS and hang out, but I've got to help my brother do a clutch swap:mad:

On a different note...I'd like to wish Dr. Fezzik a safe and pleasant journey to the Dominican(?). Please come back safe and sound. I applaud your very selfless intentions...and I am proud to call you a friend. We'll get together when you get back and settled...and the little lady's had her way with ya.

BTW...good luck finding a Skyline over there:D

Any locals have a spring compressor I can use ?

I figure since I can't clear anything as it is... I may as well go a little lower with Tein S-Techs

Well, I managed third at OVIS. I lost the last race with my worst reation time of the night. You guys would have been proud of my dial-ins. My qualifiers were [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected]; so dialed-in at 10.0 for my first run against a 1st gen RX-7. He had a 2.5sec head start, i blew by him so quick i hit the brakes, and ran a [email protected] guy filming said people where laughing pretty hard (the one race I didn't get on film). Next round I dialed-in at 10.03, and ran against a turbo Civic (dialed-in at 7.8). I was comfortably ahead so I let off at the end and fininshed with a [email protected]. Then I (still 10.03) came up against a Mitsu Eclipse(11.7 dial-in). I ran a [email protected], but lost to his [email protected]. Like I said, I lost it on the reaction...he pulled a .021 to my .336. What sucks is that my reactions had been between .046 - .186 in all of my runs. It was fun and I'm sure I'll do it again in October...and it was nice to get a check at the end of the night.

Is rodney the one with the uber wing and the primer front end? If so, then he's been to several NICO meets. Wish I coulda' gone to the valley.

I was the Max racing Saturday. You the guy with the friend that came up and talked for a bit? I've probably seen his car, if it's been to any meets lately, sounds nice.

No T&T for me this week either, I'm on shut down till Friday (payday).

That was maxhopper with the '97 maxima that raced, mine was the one with the lift kit. Lol. My wheels make my car look like it has a lift kit, but I'm gettin' it lowered within the next few weeks.:)
