Well, we dropped the car off a couple weeks back to get the new cage installed, we picked it up last week.

This is part of the cage in the trunk

also painted and cleaned up some other things.

Image
Image

I made a mount using the factory cruise control mount to hold the Greddy Profect B boost controller selinoid
Image
Image

Moved the "green box" that does the intermediate wipers to a more hidden spot.
Image
Image

Reinstalled the freshly repainted brake booster
Image

Oh yeah, in this pic the fuel tank is out of the car, also reinstalled that ;)
Image

Went walking around the hardware store and found some neat looking bolt and washers.
Image

while we were at the hardware store, saw this stuff.
Image
and installed it.
Image
Image

And then i stripped the paint off the old used Silvia fenders, took the black paint off and noticed they were two toned i <3 two tones.
Image
Started doing a little front end mock up.

i guess i can do an update.

Removed the trans for the TQ Convertor upgrade.
Image

Stock on right, the titan 3500 convertor on the left. a neat size comparison.
Image

we re assembled the motor/trans and decided to put the motor in the car.
Image

Started hooking up some of the accesories for the motor. starting with the power steering. The braided SS line is made by ISIS. i will swapping this out for a custom one later this year that i will begin to market. the other pressure line is just a stock line. the 2 low pressure lines are just stock or any off the shelf rubber line.
Image
Image

i then went ahead and worked on the heater hose. the upper hose just consists of 2 90 degree hoses and a connector. and then i heat wrapped them in a reflective heat sheth.
Image
Image
Image

I then went to the driverside and hooked up the brake booster check valve and mounted the injector resistor box.
Image
Image

Then hooked up the lower radiator hose (Stock MKIV TT hose trimmed to fit)

Had some friends come over this past weekend to lend a hand,
Image

started to assemble some of the new -4AN wastegate lines.... sucks i broke a fitting, luckily i got one from a shop in town. will show finished product tonight.
Image

made up some mounts for the oil and the transmission cooler.
Image
Image

Liz (the girlfriend) wanted to assemble the AN lines for the oil cooler, so she did.
Image

the oil cooler all hooked up and plumbed.
Image
Image
Image

went ahead and plumbed the transmission cooler
Image

figured out a decent place to mount the fuel pressure regulator.
Image

Also laid some paint to the new fenders and the grill.

Image

thats the return line for the fuel.
Image

yeah that was a b**** to get it in there. but i got itttt
Image

did all the wastegate lines in an lines as well!
Image

and mounted it .
Image

Been busy trying to get it done, Wired up the dual fuel pumps
Image

Had my girlfriend do some wiring under the dash.
Image
Image

Make sure the battery is charged!
Image

the rear interior starting to go back into the car.
Image

Get a basemap tune loaded up through the MAPECU2
Image
Image

Got pretty much everything ready except some gauges and went to fire the car....CRANK.....CRANK.......CRANK.... no start. Noticed car wasen't getting a RPM signal and had to rewire the MAPECU2 up the correct way. Went to start again....same thing (atleast there was a RPM signal) Noted there was less then 6psi of fuel pressure went back through noticed a few mistakes and i have to correct that this weekend. thats it "for now" hopefully a startup/driving vid next week!

got the car up and running and a friend put a base tune on the car. and was able to take the car to a 240sx meet just down the street! :D

During the test drives found out the coolant temp gauge wasen't working. neither was the trans temp. must fix those as well as the car developing a few leaks. but it is getting there!

really sweet process. i want your front bumper. so i notice also walbros don't like heat also. on these hot as f*** days it runs like a** full tank or not. runs lean till i give it some gas. ive had it for a yr and half now and kinda edgy about keeping it in my tank. as i melted x2 plugs racing in wisconson about a month ago..

Thanks alot man, the plan for this winter is to clean the bay even more, redo some wiring an reroute some lines. and try and hide more stuff. but it looks good enough for me.

Yeah, Walbro's HATE heat. good thing is they take all of 10 minutes to change them and they are cheap. but if i have an issue with them i will be stepping up to either Dual Bosch 044's. or the Aeromotive 340.

I've NEVER tuned a car. Always leave that to someone else, but the wiring was straight forward. pretty easy to use/play with as long as you have some common sense as to what things should and SHOULDN'T be. and once you read the manual.

Well i figure i can update this since in it officially 2012.

Had the car up and running for a few short months, seemed to be one issue after another with the new tuning software and the fuel system as well just being in a whole new car in general. But we got a few things sorted out and made some decisions to go bigger on some stuff this winter in the idea of making everything "smoother"

We took the mapecu2 out of the car and we will be installing the AEM EMS Version 2 in the next couple of days.
We are also taking out the dual walbro 255's in favor for one Deatchwerks DW300 fuel pump as we have decided the car will never make the switch to E85, and just live life as a small turbo pump gas terror. With the adjustments to the fuel pump some of the fuel system stuff will be redone. We are also going with a TRD 160 thermostat (stock is 180) in hopes of helping the car run a little cooler. As well as we may be swapping out the current e-fans for a set of Spal slim fans, and a dif fan controller, but time will tell. Also on the list of "To Do" is finish the rest of the Q45 brake upgrade.

The plan is to have the car back up and running in early spring (march) and have it tuned in march/april by Larry @ Sound Performance (one of the best supra/2JZ/auto tuners in the country) and let the car f*** rip for the rest of the year.

That's enough words though, how about some more pics from the car's few travels this year.

Update? for anyone that checks this still....

After a few short months of the white coupe running on the Mapecu2 i HATED it. so the mapecu2 needed to go. In favor of the AEM EMS Version 2. I also decided to upgrade the turbo. So the PT 6265 .68A/r Billet was replaced by a Precision 6266 .68A/r CEA turbo. Also re-heat wrapped the heater hoses. Installed a TRD Thermostat, (while i was there i modified the upper waterneck some more for a better look, added Flex a lite fans, as well as a DIF fan controller, and did some custom power steering lines (using XRP fittings) I also deleted the A/c compressor and got a new belt along with a new tensioner. Also picked up a custom wiper motor cover (very happy with this)

here are some pics.

SPL TITANIUM TENSION RODS
DIF STAINLESS BRAKE LINES

With the MAP ECU 2 long gone it was time to make the car run on the AEM EMS V2, after some tweeking and adjustments the car was ready to go down to Sound Performance for the tune.

The temperature outside was 96 degrees with a humidity in the high 60's when the car was strapped to the dyno, So needless to say i wasn't expecting much. A few hours later after a few pulls and a couple of mishaps and issues. the car got to 400rwhp on 14psi only being able to rev the motor to the 5800-6000rpm are due to a fuel pressure drop. (Wiring to the fuel pump needs to be upgraded) For the temperature, the low boost and the higher stalled automatic that is in the car i am pretty pleased with the setup.
Image

Took the car to a local car show a couple weeks later
Image
Image
Drove the car some that summer (2012) had a few issued with the wiring Tech2 did to the car. Which caused us to redo a few things to get the car back running. Also noticed a small oil leak from the oil return line, guh. always something right?

Here are some pics of the car throughout the summer/fall of 2012.
Image
Image

we ended up selling the Megan street coilovers and picked up some HKS HyperMax RS coilovers
Image

We parked the car shortly after getting the coilovers on the car for the 2012/2013 winter.
Decided it was time to get rid of the noisy water pump, figured get a new timing belt well i was in there as well as a new tensioner.
Image

Got that back together and decided to tackle a little wiring job to clean it up a little bit.
Image

With the radiator removed i massaged the upper core support to gain a little more room. But i didn't want to make a big cut cause i hate how that looks.
Image
Image

Also got one of these!
Image

Figured a new strut bar was in order, Picked up the GT-SPEC bar.
Image

Also thought it was time for a wheel upgrade! Stich Mesh 17x8+35 (f) 17x9+35 (r)
Image

In March of 2013 this happened.
Image

Then we built this.
Image
Image

Out with the old in, In with the new.
Image

While the wheels were painted we had the spark plug cover, and strut bar ends as well as the new velocity stack painted to match.
Image
Image
Image

Got the interior pretty much finished.
Image

Took the car out and did some cruising around.
Image

Car developed a misfire so we redid the coilpack connectors.
Image
and picked up a clean low mile set of uncracked coilpacks, as these were toast.
Image

With the car back up and running i decided to straighten the garage and found this!
Image

Went to a meet and had a friend take some more shots.
Image
Image
Image
Image

did so more cruising around with some friends.

Haha, thanks! Means alot.

Car is still no wear near finished, although this winters "to-do" list is pretty short which is nice for a change, just going to throw some new tires at it, put a boost controller on the car, a new downpipe/exhaust, maybe a new intercooler and piping. and Retune the car and have some fun.

It's true, you guys have built a great car. It looks clean and well done. Congrats about the engagement. I assume she said yes, otherwise this thread would have been updated differently ;)

Haha thanks, That's where her word came in, i just tried to keep it at a reasonable amount cause too much can get pretty terrible looking.

Yeah this thing goes pretty well. The weight compared to the supra is pretty big but the current gear ratio in the car i believe is hurting the cars performance as it still has the 4.08 Gearset in it, I would like to drop it down to a 3.54 or 3.69
