It does, however, promote craftsmanship in motorworks, which this new rice generation seriously needs a whole hell of a lot more of. My hat is off to Aries and Lime Creek.

:Werd (except for the RB26 in a camaro, that'd be a waste of an RB26)

Actually, I'd say they still are different. for example, Japanese cars are built for japanese people first. The average Japanese consumer is different from the average American consumer. Japanese people want different things from their cars than Americans. They do get "translated" for americans for the USDM models, but the japanese differences remain.

Oh, and, please give examples of "Japanese wanting different things" or the "translation" process

well, japanese car makers don't make cars for Americans only. They have americans and the rest of the world in mind, but they design with the Japanese consumer in mind first.and I'm sorry, but it's too late in the evening or early in the morning for me to come up with an exact example of what Japanese people want from their cars. but if you look at all the other differences in consumer products, music, entertainment, etc. its all totaly different from what is available in the states. they have a completely bizare way of looking at things, that is if you see it from an American point of view. Just look at how much hard core sexual anime there is. that has nothing to do with cars, but you'll never see anything like that produced by Americans in that quantity. But I realy am no expert in all things japanese, and my attempt at an example may be kind of weak so I'll let you own me on this one if you want, unless I wake up tomorrow with anything better.

The translation is just the "toning down" of their cars when they make it to the states for whatever purpose be it cost effectiveness, or the estimation that an American car buyer doesn't realy want a higher HP motor in their dinky little compacts, because those who want HP get muscle cars, and those who want compacts just want fuel efficiency and low maintanance. this is all a generalization of car buyers, and again, I am not an expert on consumerism and marketing. it's just the way I see it.

The Riot Hero, ur a Dic. and rb26 doesnt need to make 1200 lb torque. why in gods name do you need that much torque!? You cant put that much power down on anything but a strait line. and i dont need to read what i wrote i read it just fine when i posted it. To the people calling me part of a "new ricer craze to hate domestics" Sorry, i dont care what anyone else thinks. obviously i havent backed down on my opinion after reading all these posts and I'm not a ricer, in the way you mean it. Think what u want little bitc* Riot. And i never said a single thing about Aries and his skill or lime creeks. I dont doubt it took some talent to get it in there are all. My comments were on the idea of putting the engine in it and the quality of american enginering. I still think you shouldnt cross those 2 things. I would never think of doing it. I would never own an american made car. even if it was a $6,000 car that ran 10's stock. I feel that you get what you pay for in everything. Domestics are cheaper to buy, cheaper to work on and upgrade. U get what u pay for in the end, even if it runs good for a long time.

But one thing is for sure, i'll never buy one so I'll never be able to back this up with personal experience, but i try and let other people make mistakes and learn from them.
