I'm down in your part of the world in September... by then you could afford it I'm sure! I'll drop it off... you test drive it for the weekend... and when I get ready to leave you can buy it or send it back with me!!

riiight...why would u do that 4 me? and how much u want like $8? 240s r way overpriced now, when i 1st started lookin at them b4 i had $$, they were actually affordable...f-in $5xxx for an early-90s car is ridiculous!
Well... now they're overpriced because all the geeks that drove Civics want a 240 because it's the new "cool" car that's easy to build up. I bought mine 4 years ago and I KNOW I can get at least as much for it as I paid back then. THANK YOU GROWING IMPORT SCENE!!!!
But anyway... that's not the point. I will be coming down south a couple times to race this fall anyway... so it won't cost much more to drive my 240 down there if I had someone interested in buying it.
I realize you don't want to wait that long... so I was just throwing the idea out there to be a jack-a$$.
BUUUUT.... if you still don't have a 240 by then... I am totally serious... I'd do it. I haven't put much thought into the price yet... but it wouldn't be $8000... that's for sure. It's still got a KA in it for cryin' out loud... it ain't worth quite that much!
At least its a 240. If it does have a bad motor buy a used KA. My friends 240 just got totaled i can ask him how much it would be for his motor if you really need to know.

my parents dont understand why i want this particular car (my dad once suggested a mustang or a honda...HAHA!!) and they dont get the whole fix-up thing...it's because i'm a girl, they want me to have a "safe, economical car"...pisses me off too. i'm just gonna buy what i want though, it's my money & my choice
They are just as un-affordable as any fixer-upper 240sx that likely has an engine swap, suspension/chassis, rear end, and paint work in it's future, no?
I feel your pain, althought I had a 240 but mine was stolen april 4th, its almost impossible to find a 240 here in cali for what I paid before since the drift craze is pretty big now

nothin' wrong with rockin' the mini van.
they're awesome when you get a bunch of friends together, or have one of the 3.8 Lumina vans and take a Mustang GT in a drag (poor guy couldn't work the manual very well:D)
surely you can find a 240 before too long, or a nice substitute.
If you can source the parts, an S13 can be fixed for relatively cheap. Bought mine for 200 dollars, and most of the money that I've spent has been on fluids...:oface
