Its pretty easy to do. Just take out the plastic pins to remove the trunk lid panel covering the license plate bulb and just a twist and pull off the license light plugs. Keep in mind that LED bulbs, unlike regular bulbs, there is a positive and negative side. If you put the bulb in and the light doesn't work, try rotating it before you return it.Huy wrote:My leds (Lic. Plate) should be in any day now.
Any pointers for an easy install?
Didn't you order the same bulbs that I did...from v-LED.com?Fafdawg wrote:Yah, I like yours better...
I just got the normal bulb that was listed in the links given outpmtran16 wrote:SunLitSandMax00SE, Your lights look nice, did you get the single white LED or did you get more cause your lights look really bright. Either way looks good
Yeah those are the ones that I used for the reverse lights. They look really nice but they really dont make a big difference in brightness. You might want to get brighter bulbs for that.paigoomein wrote:these should work for the backup lights too, right?

pmtran16, with the 6-led for the back-up lights, do you already find those to be brighter than the oem bulbs? my windows are tinted pretty dark so having a brighter backup-light would actually help quite a bit when I am parking.

I guess i am confused. i like the idea of LED, i like the "white" look of it Vs. the more yellow of the HID. but can you see better with the LED or the HID? i dont see that well at night, so i am looking for the better option for that issue.pmtran16 wrote:Just did a couple of LED light changes to my M45....I know if a previous post someone was asking about the license light changes to look like a Lexus....Here are my pics....Tell me what you think
Here is a picture with one of the License lights replace compared to the stock. In the picture it looks really blue but the light is actually white.
Here is another picture of the License plate light comparison and also my reverse light LED conversion (once again it's really not that blue)
Here is a close up of the License light
Here is my Driving Light conversion to White LEDs....Once again the light seems blue but its more of a HID look
Here is another
Here's the overall look
Here is the comparison....this is the stock driving light
And here is the LED converted driving light....notice it's really not that blue
What do you think?
Between LED and HIDs the HIDs will provide more light and brightness and will help with the night vision. LED provides more of a cosmetic enhancment.SammyTheBull wrote:

Thanks for your help.

I agree 50 bucks is way to much to spend on reverse lightspaigoomein wrote:I guess these would be the only other option to go with for brighter back-up lights. it would definitely be an easier choice if it wasn't so pricey.

Paigoomein, Nice pics.....yeah I agree with the fact that it's really not brighter but I definitely like how it looks. It's really suddle but really cleans up the look. I think 19 LED is brighter (obviously) but I might like that better than my 11 LED bulb.paigoomein wrote:Went ahead with the 19 LED bulb. Here are some pictures.

head-on comparison (the LED definitely produces whiter light, but even the 19 bulb LED isn't any brighter than the OEM filament bulb

lol, i was thinking the same thing when I was changing out the other lights at night. Then the stupid practical part of my brain said "how many times have you opened your trunk at night in the past 3 months", to which the fun part of my brain said "a half dozen and the yellowish light was oppressing, you jerk"paigoomein wrote:Next up I will probably change out the trunk lights.
I ordered the ones PMTRAN posted the link for:http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Con...32481infinitiandbeyond wrote:A-Man....which LED did you use? The two light, five light or other?
I have all of the LED's on this string on the way plus the FOGS, dome lights and the top trunk light.
HEY PMTRAN, great job with all the pics!!!
