That's not even lol worthy. I hate you.TurboSauce wrote:i'm not even in miami, I wish i was i'm in the bahamas.
Pretty much sums up my thoughts. I only have a select number of "friends" on FB. All of them know me well, to the point that I can act like myself and say pretty much whatever I want without worrying if I offended anyone. Hopefully they all feel the same way. Sometimes you gotta turn down friend requests and things might be a little weird with that person when you see them. But I enjoy not having to censor myself and some people are just f*** toxic to be around.Dattebayo wrote:Drama follows only if you make it follow you, fb of not.

I agree to a point, but it's still a distraction in my life that I would like to remove for a while. When we can't sit down to dinner without looking at FB half the time while we're sitting there, then I think there is a problem with that. There is nothing that interesting on FB that I should be distracting myself with that much.WDRacing wrote:Pretty much sums up my thoughts. I only have a select number of "friends" on FB. I get a ton of good info from FB. Stuff that matters to me, like the Pats injuries or the Bruins line changes. Or awesome vehicle crashes and etc. I follow some news groups as well as I have totally dumped the MSM.
Sometimes my news feed gets a bit negative, so I just turn off anything negative that I see. Do that a couple times and your news feed pretty much clears itself right up.
I read a lot, like a lot. Almost constantly. FB allows people with similar interests to link me directly to articles and books and vids that I would otherwise never have read. That's pretty damn cool imho.
Far more positive things about FB than negative, at least for me.
As with all things, it is what you make of it.
Happy Tuesday people!
That's just rude. If you wanna do that ish while having a family dinner, you eat alone or not at all. I used to try to play video games when I was a kid like that and had my sh*t slapped and the console shut off. I knew it was wrong, too.Kompresshun wrote:When we can't sit down to dinner without looking at FB half the time while we're sitting there, then I think there is a problem with that.
There is a problem with that, but one very easily fixed. In my home, no electronics at the table during meals. Forces everyone to communicate the old fashioned way. No, not with smoke signals or flatulence, but verbal.Kompresshun wrote:When we can't sit down to dinner without looking at FB half the time while we're sitting there, then I think there is a problem with that.
I didn't say it wasn't. I was just using it as an example and maybe I should've been a little more clear - My wife and I do that, typically while sitting at a restaurant. We don't do that when we're eating with family or multiple people.Dattebayo wrote:That's just rude. If you wanna do that ish while having a family dinner, you eat alone or not at all. I don't disagree, but we don't have a normal life either. We have a whacked out schedule that doesn't always allow us to eat at normal times or even together most nights, so a normal dinner isn't really normal for us. It's a little easier since Kristen has moved back to day shift, but she has over an hour commute right now so usually we don't eat dinner until after 8pm. I usually feed the kid much earlier though because she goes to bed at 9pm.WDRacing wrote:Yeah, not sure how you could even attempt normal dinner without the no electronics rule.
