Morning folks!

Ben, sell that 240 yet?

Cute pups man. Mine was being an ***hole this morning because I didn't sprinkle cheese over her breakfast.

After we get cut loose at 3 today, the Subaru is getting new brakes all around and the snow tires bolted up. Hooray winter.

I'm pretty close to the coast, so we've got nothing but rain in the forecast. 1-2" though. However, because you never know if they'll salt due to freezing temps, I filled up the tires and fueled up the Trans Am for winter hibernation. :tisk:
I'll be surprised if we get snow.

I need a 240 like I need a hole in my head. As much as I really like that car, engagement ring comes first.
Have you considered doing it all "Wheeler Dealers" style and investing in the body work and quick respray to sell for a higher price more quickly?

Hey, just wanna cut in here because that reminded me of something...

A friend and I were talking about engagement rings the other day and we got to talking about their origins... Did you know the whole diamond thing was cooked up about 70 years ago by the same company (DeBeers) that sells the diamonds? That really erks me in a special way...

Is that where the whole "4 months salary" s*** comes from?

Thankfully, the lady wants either a clear sapphire or a blue sapphire. No diamonds for this couple!
Plus, for me to save that kind of salary or a traditional ring would mean a loan similar to my student loans. Eff that noise... The same money is better well spent on a world trip together than on a rock.

It actually used to be "one month's salary", but times have changed and they want to sell larger stones to the lower classes I guess. Either way, LOL to that. It was actually the "a diamond lasts forever" slogan that started it. It's only natural that some sales fu*ktard would turn it into "how else can one month's salary last forever".

I actually chatted about this with my parents (big mistake, BTW), and got an earful from the mom. Apparently most women don't like it when you challenge convention on the subject of marriage...

Holy crap. I was reading some stuff on English language evolution, and I just learned the th sound and the letter y are interchangeable because they used to have a whole other letter in the English alphabet back then called the "thorn" that the European typesetters didn't want to make a character for. So thou became you because of same lazy a** German typesmith. To be fair, I can't imagine how the hell they made type blocks back then given the lack of tech. Can you?

So print accidentally changed how we pronounce word magically within about 100 years. Anyway, just a thought that occurs to someone at almost 4 AM. Cheers.

Hmm, pretty cool. Wouldn't have thought that.

Everyone have a good thanksgiving?
I ended up making some salmon for the family dinner. For a family that doesn't care for fish, they sure as hell ate the whole side!

Bought a couple of gifts, washed the Trans Am one last time before putting it in the garage. I need to buy a cover today before the garage dust starts to collect on it again.

Turned the heat up way too high, ate too much, and relaxed playing some Animal Crossing with my brother (best relaxation game ever).
My dad made a PHENOMENAL green been and mushroom casserole with all fresh ingredients from his garden. The leftovers are in the fridge waiting to be enjoyed later today.

Friday day I spent working on my brother's nonsense Mercedes (the only kind there is) and my dad's Maxima (which makes valvetrain noises that would scare a Powerstroke owner, but that's normal because VQ).

All in all a much-needed very therapeutic weekend.

We had a nice, relaxing long weekend here. We spent Thanksgiving alone this year, which was great. It was nice to have a break from the typical holiday pandemonium we experience.

I worked on the Miata Friday and Yesterday a little. Made a lot of progress fixing the trunk lid. Just have to throw some body filler on it and sand it, then it should be good to go. I also bought a kick-a** heater for the garage that gets it quite toasty in there. Much better than the old electric one I had been using that could barely take the chill off.

Christmas shopping for the wife is done too, aside from little stuff for her stocking. Probably spent too much, but I got a lot of good stuff for her this year and didn't have to step foot inside a single store either
